It's really odd to me that GOT has this massive following and took the world by storm back in 2011 yet so many people condemn all the major aspects of the show. Too much sex, too much violence, too much incest, too much men, too much white people blah blah. So how did it have such a massive following then? Clearly that's what people wanted. So now to see these moronic HOTD showrunners stripping all that away and expecting this show to be as big is hilarious.

Hollywood is pushing the left-wing progressive ideology at all costs and they are dumb to think it will not bomb at the box office and viewership. I saw enough Soviet films with the communist ideology to recognize the same modern trend towards progressive values.

        1. It was unlike anything else on TV, a show with the epic scope beyond something like LOTR but in a serialized format that was for "gown ups" with unexpected twists that put you through the edge of your seat.
2.The show became less sexual as it went along, compare seasons 2-3 to seasons 6-7.
3 The show came out in 2011, years before SJWs inflated their opinions to make them seem ""popular" and "the norm" among Hollywood

For me, the first few seasons seemed like a genuine simulation of (mostly) realistic medieval kingdoms. Characters were prone to act a certain way and they did, even when it wasn't smart to. Ned couldn't help but be the "honorable" and honest man no matter the consequences . Joffrey couldn't help but be an edgy c**t no matter the consequences. Put those two on a collision path and the only outcome was what happened, Joffrey brashly executing the Lord of winterfell and kick-starting a political shit storm. My expectations were subverted but also in a way that logically made sense, a lot like real life. It was just an objective story, and really didn't have anything to say about real world political issues, let alone "issues" in 2022

          >really didn't have anything to say about real world political issues
The problem is that people don't realize that discussing the philosophy of politics is not the same as discussing current events via metaphor. Making a story about the pursuit of power and the people who want it is not the same as making a story about how the bad man said "nasty woman" that one time but this time they're in mail

        Anonymous

it was raw and was pretty legit and completely unapologetic. There were breasts, there was gore, there were battles, there were jokes, there were realistic and scenes gripping discussions or dialogues that took their time and weren't 5 guys from each team awkwardly facing each other off while ripping lame oneliners, constant schemes, there were legit shocking plot twists that felt organic and made sense, no cheap anime bullshit or forced "reverts expectations".
It had something for everyone, from morons to book readers, even for libshits since nowhere did the show tell you "this rape is good" or "you should root for this obviously bad guy", it just showed you shit that seemed like it could have happened in real life given the setting and personalities, and how the characters subjectively deal with what is happening to them.

Frick this handholding shit, GRRM was a lefty although a horny fat neckbeary one, he's literally on their side and made a story that perfectly reasonably explores how fricked up evil men are and medieval powerstructures and shows you why it's bad with shocking scenes that make you feel like you're there. But they can't have that because he doesn't have a charcter burst into the gangrape and go "This is really very bad and fricked up" or better yet have the tavern girl 360 roundhouse kick all the seasoned mercenaries and get a one-liner about girlpower in before anything bad can actually happen, totally defeating the purpose of the lesson by serving headcanon instead of gruesome reality.

What made GoT popular was sex and violence, they'll still have that.
What made GoT good was the characters and politics, but normalgays don't care about that.

Normalgays THINK that they like it for the sex and violence but they actually like it for the characters and politics. Then they demand more sex and violence, the show goes to shit and they get confused.

In the middle ages they treated most women like property and it was bad and made them cry

    Boo hoo

Get on with the sword fights and dragons blowing shit up before I piss myself

      Anonymous

Actually in the real middle ages, women were fairly respected. Arranged marriages were for nobles, and while peasants didn't really marry for love, they were still expected to treat their wives well.
Furthermore, when you're poor you want your wife to be competent. If you went back in time and asked a medieval craftsman if his wife should be able to read and do math, he'd say "Bloody well better, she does the books."
The idea of women being stupid property for making babies was revived in the Renaissance, when a bunch of homosexual philosophers copied the original woman-hating homosexual philosophers, the Greeks. This laid the foundation for the trophy wife in the industrial revolution, where overall wealth advanced so much that having a woman who doesn't have to work became a status symbol and so men would discourage their wives from pursuing their own lives.

Yea anyone who read ASOIAF and/or Fire and Blood already know the full outcome. Shireen even mentioned shortly the war in season 5.
Hell, i think One of the more videos with short vignettes for the Season 5 DVD editing also had a condensed tale of the entire war, with some cutted characters and events
