It's really odd to me that GOT has this massive following and took the world by storm back in 2011 yet so many people condemn all the major aspects of the show. Too much sex, too much violence, too much incest, too much men, too much white people blah blah. So how did it have such a massive following then? Clearly that's what people wanted. So now to see these moronic HOTD showrunners stripping all that away and expecting this show to be as big is hilarious.
Hollywood is pushing the left-wing progressive ideology at all costs and they are dumb to think it will not bomb at the box office and viewership. I saw enough Soviet films with the communist ideology to recognize the same modern trend towards progressive values.
1. It was unlike anything else on TV, a show with the epic scope beyond something like LOTR but in a serialized format that was for "gown ups" with unexpected twists that put you through the edge of your seat.
2.The show became less sexual as it went along, compare seasons 2-3 to seasons 6-7.
3 The show came out in 2011, years before SJWs inflated their opinions to make them seem ""popular" and "the norm" among Hollywood
For me, the first few seasons seemed like a genuine simulation of (mostly) realistic medieval kingdoms. Characters were prone to act a certain way and they did, even when it wasn't smart to. Ned couldn't help but be the "honorable" and honest man no matter the consequences . Joffrey couldn't help but be an edgy c**t no matter the consequences. Put those two on a collision path and the only outcome was what happened, Joffrey brashly executing the Lord of winterfell and kick-starting a political shit storm. My expectations were subverted but also in a way that logically made sense, a lot like real life. It was just an objective story, and really didn't have anything to say about real world political issues, let alone "issues" in 2022
>really didn't have anything to say about real world political issues
The problem is that people don't realize that discussing the philosophy of politics is not the same as discussing current events via metaphor. Making a story about the pursuit of power and the people who want it is not the same as making a story about how the bad man said "nasty woman" that one time but this time they're in mail
it was raw and was pretty legit and completely unapologetic. There were breasts, there was gore, there were battles, there were jokes, there were realistic and scenes gripping discussions or dialogues that took their time and weren't 5 guys from each team awkwardly facing each other off while ripping lame oneliners, constant schemes, there were legit shocking plot twists that felt organic and made sense, no cheap anime bullshit or forced "reverts expectations".
It had something for everyone, from morons to book readers, even for libshits since nowhere did the show tell you "this rape is good" or "you should root for this obviously bad guy", it just showed you shit that seemed like it could have happened in real life given the setting and personalities, and how the characters subjectively deal with what is happening to them.
Frick this handholding shit, GRRM was a lefty although a horny fat neckbeary one, he's literally on their side and made a story that perfectly reasonably explores how fricked up evil men are and medieval powerstructures and shows you why it's bad with shocking scenes that make you feel like you're there. But they can't have that because he doesn't have a charcter burst into the gangrape and go "This is really very bad and fricked up" or better yet have the tavern girl 360 roundhouse kick all the seasoned mercenaries and get a one-liner about girlpower in before anything bad can actually happen, totally defeating the purpose of the lesson by serving headcanon instead of gruesome reality.
What made GoT popular was sex and violence, they'll still have that.
What made GoT good was the characters and politics, but normalgays don't care about that.
Normalgays THINK that they like it for the sex and violence but they actually like it for the characters and politics. Then they demand more sex and violence, the show goes to shit and they get confused.
Spoken like a true incel god damn anon haha make sure you never say that outloud to a female in real life hey? well im not too worried about that actually
Spoken like a true incel god damn anon haha make sure you never say that outloud to a female in real life hey? well im not too worried about that actually
Actually in the real middle ages, women were fairly respected. Arranged marriages were for nobles, and while peasants didn't really marry for love, they were still expected to treat their wives well.
Furthermore, when you're poor you want your wife to be competent. If you went back in time and asked a medieval craftsman if his wife should be able to read and do math, he'd say "Bloody well better, she does the books."
The idea of women being stupid property for making babies was revived in the Renaissance, when a bunch of homosexual philosophers copied the original woman-hating homosexual philosophers, the Greeks. This laid the foundation for the trophy wife in the industrial revolution, where overall wealth advanced so much that having a woman who doesn't have to work became a status symbol and so men would discourage their wives from pursuing their own lives.
This is a prequel series right? We already know going in who is going to win. Zero stakes or suspense. Fricking idiotic. At least an Arya going "west of Westeros" would have a sense of suspense.
Yea anyone who read ASOIAF and/or Fire and Blood already know the full outcome. Shireen even mentioned shortly the war in season 5.
Hell, i think One of the more videos with short vignettes for the Season 5 DVD editing also had a condensed tale of the entire war, with some cutted characters and events
got and asoiaf dealt with mostly the same shit. if they can execute well then it’s fine, but i’m expecting them to beat the audience over the head with it.
>that one anon who hit rank 1 on the EU Starcraft 2 ladder and changed his name to JonSnowDies the week ADWD came out
Based.
That said, the story is about how the maesters used "son of 2nd wife comes before the daughter of the 1st wife" to get the Targs to kill each other and their dragons
Before red wedding was shot book readers on internet already knew what was going to happen, yet people still were shocked and surprised. Your argument is moronic as it gets.

Do they not realise that all these feminist, diverse prequels just make viewers think their societies realised what a fricking terrible idea it was to live like that.
>Also, bad casting for Criston Cole. He's supposed to make wet panties drop.
Have you seen the Targaryen and Velaryon cast? He is way more handsome than any of them
I'd always imagined a young and rugged Ethan Hawke.
Cargyll twin brothers that are kingsguard to Viserys I, as for devine i have no fricking clue.
Thanks, I forget gurm's prequel stuff with ease.
And Devine def has to be a donut steel OC. maybe from Volantis or Slaver's Bay. Priestess or soothsayer...
Sean Bean, Mark Addy, Lena Headey, Jason Mamoa were all well known actors at the time, even if some have gotten more popular because of their role in the show and the work they received after.

It's never anything more than some combo of these three points! Even if I were the ꜱoy elemental that lets billionaire nonces lecture me about morality, it's all so fricking BORING! Get new material, for fricks sake.
No wonder fantasy/sci fi traditional publishing is getting lapped by wish fulfillment self published garbage; at least they grasp that their target audience wants to be entertained by a secondary world, rather than have some homosexual wear its skin to lecture them even more.

Apparently no

It's fricking crazy how much the world changed since 2011.

Out of curiosity, what do you consider the reason GoT was popular?
Boobs
incest, characters can die at any moment value and dragons.
>gore
>violence
>nudity
>rape
>anyone could die

Normalgays loved the show long after it went to shit. Just because there was a hate bandwagon for season 8 doesn't mean they "woke up".
GOT had less sex and violence in the later seasons... you know the ones everyone hated...
>Do they really not understand what made GoT popular in the first place
No
Anon, they are females and (male) feminists. Whaddaya think?
How do I drop something I never held?
Is there like a super drop or something?
Pick it up just to drop it.
And go 'HA!' or something as you do it.
>show about family civil war over which brother or sister will rule
>WTF THIS SHOW WILL EXPLORE MISOGYNY?? HOW CAN THEY EVEN JUSTIFY THAT??
Misogyny is a meaningless buzzword used to terminate critical thought and discussion. It holds absolutely no weight as a concept.
Spoken like a true incel god damn anon haha make sure you never say that outloud to a female in real life hey? well im not too worried about that actually
They're not gonna frick you for defending them online
Explain what misogyny is, then, and how modern society is misogynistic.
If anything modern society hates and discriminates men, not women.
>no argument
>reveals to anons that you don't understand women
Why would you do this to yourself
List the full names, addresses, phone numbers, and social security numbers of the last 10 women you had sex with.
>t. Femcel or troony
Ideology doesn't trump pussy tingles
gets one (1) (you)
gets six(6) (you)'s
People don't respond to statements they have no problems with, so it makes sense. The less controversial opinion attracted less controversy.
>newbies don't know how to farm (You)'s
Embarrassing
its so fricking easy to trigger incels, i cant help myself
How did the GoT manage to be stunningly successful until season 8 without preaching and lecturing it's audience?
it didn't have these people behind it
it just told a good fricking story. There were lessons in the story but they never drove the story.
>it just told a good fricking story
Fricking lol'd

In the middle ages they treated most women like property and it was bad and made them cry
Boo hoo
Get on with the sword fights and dragons blowing shit up before I piss myself

Literally just do a Xena adventure show starring Arya
best thing is with her face magic you could cast an attractive actress for the role
got and asoiaf dealt with mostly the same shit. if they can execute well then it’s fine, but i’m expecting them to beat the audience over the head with it.
haha dragons go brrr
I hope it explores hot lesbian action instead am I right fellas!?
Do they not realise that all these feminist, diverse prequels just make viewers think their societies realised what a fricking terrible idea it was to live like that.
I never considered picking it up in the first place.
Far more worrying is an amount of no-name actors and actresses in the season 1. HBO at least had Sean Bean to anchor the first season of GoT.
Am I supposed to recognize any of these people?
Who the frick are House Cargyll and who the fck is Devine?
Also, bad casting for Criston Cole. He's supposed to make wet panties drop.

Thank goodness the original season of game of thrones had big name actors like Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke to carry it.
It had nonames like Sean Bean.
I think the anon you're replying to was say he doesn't like Black folks.
Sean Bean, Mark Addy, Lena Headey, Jason Mamoa were all well known actors at the time, even if some have gotten more popular because of their role in the show and the work they received after.
Peter Dinklage was a B-list actor too, not a noname.
Now do it by screen time
One persistent black actor? Or did I miss something
One too many. I'm not going to watch it.

These studios are literally just writing these shows for themselves now
>misogyny
Everything they do, everything they say, makes me hate women more and more. I actually used to like them.
how is milly alwiener a name
Briish name
Sounds fun
i choose my fantasy televisions series according to how well it educates me on misogyny and patriarchy so this works out perfectly for me
Oh the famous misogyny not a problem for pretty feminine girl that get laid often.
Wow, gee willikers, wowza, holy cannoli, jeepers creepers, cheese and crackers!
I did NOT see this coming AT ALL! :O
What misogyny?
Where inside the western world is that even to be found in 2022? What in the actual frick?

Going exclusively for the blue haired twitter market seems like a good idea.
