So. DT17. What went so right?

Are there really people who enjoy old ducktales more? As a kid I always found it okay, it did have some weird and nice episodes about a cave of diamonds with a huge diamond. But nu-ducktales, has actual personalities, actual lore and a much better kiki. I mean why would I prefer one character alt colors that are only there to say

You're talking about Donald's nephews, right? Yes, the most common argument of how Nu-Ducktales did the right thing. I don't want to comment on Donald's nephews at all, but it was a good idea to give Donald's nephews their own personalities. However, Nu-Ducktales did a bad job here too, because the boys themselves do not act like 10-year-old boys, but rather have personalities similar to older teenagers or already young adults of 20 years old, and the development of their characterizations was poorly executed in all three seasons. Not to mention how they all have mental disorders in them. Only Huey has the personalities of the classic nephews, as he is a member of the Junior Woodchucks, while Dewey and Louie are totally new characters.

I mean, good idea, but poorly executed. Webby on the other hand is better than the original version, and she could really fit in, also her team with her friends is a good idea. The only problem is that they gave her too much focus to the point of abnormality, especially in the third season and not to mention the finale, which disgusted me with her character. In the end, I think that most of the children's characters (nephews, Webby and Gosalyn) should have been older teenagers because their personalities fit better at that age, rather than being pre-teens. That's why I'm not surprised that they did well with Len and Violet.

I'm going to have to disappoint you, but there are people who prefer the original to the reboot, and there are also kids who watch the original Ducktales more than the Ducktales reboot. I know it sounds funny, but I've heard from people who have kids in their family and those kids aren't as interested in Nu-Ducktales as they are in the original Ducktales.

          >Len
Oops, my mistake, I mean Lena. I'm typing fast so I can't see the mistakes. I mean, after all, Nu-Ducktales is aimed more at an audience that remembers the nostalgic Disney Afternoon shows and misses Gravity Falls, rather than a children's audience, despite the main characters in that series being Webby and the nephews.

Season 2 was complete waste of potential. Season 3 was just fricking shit.

Woah buddy, I'll admit I enjoy the reboot more than the original but I wouldn't really go as far as making that claim

It basically took the best parts of the Original, the Comics, Gravity Falls, probably a bit of Venture Brothers.
While clearly being it's own thing.

Middle season 2 was peak NuDucktales with the introduction of Della! Unfortunately, it squanders its premise and never really delivers.

The main problem is the show is too modern ironic for it's own good. It treats everything as a quip, cutting down whatever feeling it's trying to convey. It also really does lack an arc for any character, and instead of chracter growth it just throws more characters in.

Yes, I suppose charcters do grow in specific episodes, but that growth is episodic growth that only is relevant for that episode. Louie learns to be a better businessman and to not be lazy in season 2, only to still be a swindling businessman and lazy in season 3.

I really do think Ducktales is lesser then the sum of its parts. There are some great episodes and one by one the episodic episodes are great, but as a whole, it just doesn't hold up.

The thing is filled with Disney brand gurlboss bullshit and the boys act like early thirties butthole city simps.

This is a show made by up their own ass losers. it's largely disliked by the target demo and loathed by the parents and grandparents if that demo for a reason
