Ducktales 2017 is over.
The Chip and Dale movie flopped.
Seth Rogen (sigh) is supposedly working on a Darkwing Duck series to come out... eventually...
Are there any other Disney Afternoon projects in the works, in some form or another?

you aren't gonna like what happens with the Gummi Bears.
why?
They're making the reboot one of those <6 three-dimensional monstrosities on Disney plus that teaches a stupid lesson every episode.
sounds awful
why not
Is there a single person who gives a shot about Gummi Bears
>Seth Rogen (sigh) is supposedly working on a Darkwing Duck series to come out... eventually...
I thought that was debunked?
Yes and no. The person on Twitter who "confirmed" that the pitch had been passed on was a former writer on DuckTales 2017 (so he would have a bit of an axe to grind). But Seth Rogen does seem to subtly confirm that a Darkwing reboot is still in the works - my guess is that it's in development limbo right now. Not quite alive, but not quite dead either.
It's a mistake updating these things when the people who are approving of and helming these projects are addicted to irony and deconstruction. What's getting made is a bunch of non-adventures aimed at people who remember the earnest originals, all while winking and saying, 'too bad we're all dead inside now, right guys?'
People want earnestness, people want adventure, even if it isn't 'cool' to admit it.
I had my issues with the DuckTales reboot, but it was not insincere. They were legitimately trying to do a good reboot and trying to pull in as much Duck-stuff as possible. Some of the ideas were bad and they often bit off more than they could chew. Those are different problems than a lack of sincerity.

Stop lying OP
>According to Variety, the movie was the number 10 most watched streaming title across all platforms, for the week of May 26 to June 1, based on Reelgood’s rankings

>"yeah nobody cared" levels of interaction of cartoon forums, review sites, etc.
10 years in development hell, frick knows how much money actually spent on it. Flop. Not a BOMB, but definitely a flop.
I’d be curious to know how they calculated that for this one. The stuff that usually goes into streaming equations is social media engagement, number of audience reviews on sites like IMDB & RT, and level of torrent strength, basically trying to guesstimate “demand.” But by those metrics it looked to do poorly, so maybe Disney gave them some other numbers?
Considering it was originally meant to be a theatrical release and has been in the works for years and years I’m skeptical it scraped more than a “breaking even” payday.
Tad Stones being involved on the DW Reboot by Rogen gives me a bit of hope specially with the team behind Invincible and The Boys: Diabolical behind it.
So im curious how the crew of R-Rated animated series will handle a kids property.
>Darkwing Duck (2024) EP: Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg
>Based on the original animated series, but with a twist. When a strange space-time anomaly separates 12-year-old Duckie from her family, her only hope at getting home is a crazy old hermit named Drake Mallard, who may or may not be the super-hero Darkwing Duck.

Honestly at this rate people need to stop begging for reboots and revivals. It almost never works out.
First two seasons of DT were pretty good.
