We are never going to get another great blockbuster movie movie for at least 10 more years and audiences are to blame. If people didn't lap up dogshit movies like DUNC and supported auteur driven projects like Batman v Superman, we wouldn't be in this situation. But alas, hacks like Villeneuve are racking in the big bucks while visionaries like Snyder are forced to turn to Netflix to fund their projects.

He definitely had total control over his DC trilogy though. Batman killing people and Superman turning into a murderous dictator are clearly Snyder's interpretations of these characters.

Snyder's films are a deconstruction of capeshit and use classic heroes to examine political and philosophical themes relevant to modern America.
Zack Snyder is clearly an idiot if you watch any of his interviews. He's the perfect example of a director that makes faux-deep style over substance movies. His entire approach to making films is geared towards what edgelord 14 year olds like you think is grown up.
Snyder doesn't "sound smart" because he's not a pretentious twat. If you watch his movies, many of them have a much deeper meaning but also function as a fun blockbuster. The difference between a director like Snyder and a hack like Villeneuve is that Snyder trusts his audience even though most people watching are braindead. Villeneuve feels the need to spell out every theme and idea in DUNC, even going so far as to rewrite a character to explain the point of the movie doesn't directly to our face. A guy like Snyder doesn't always spell out the point even though it always makes sense, this is why people still don't understand simple things like Lex Luthor's motivation or even the entire point of the film Sucker Punch.
