I don't really like the 4th Ed D&D universe. Feels way to high-magic to me and everyone is some half-demon or plane-traveler and knows super-powerful magic from birth.
Isn't that the same shit by now? I tried playing that Neverwinter Nights online game and one of the first characters I met was some Demon looking dude acting like he is no big deal and I think there was a floating tavern or some shit.
Not exactly what I remember from Baldurs Gate and the like.
DnD doesn't even exist beyond streaming content. It's like dead internet theory but for a game. It's all hype and youtubers, but no one actually buys and plays it.
What? Go to /tg/ sometime. I, like many anons, had to suffer through 5E with my new group for a while. Fortunately I was able to get us started on another system.
https://dnd.wizards.com/news/diversity-and-dnd >We present orcs and drow in a new light in two of our most recent books, Eberron: Rising from the Last War and Explorer's Guide to Wildemount. In those books, orcs and drow are just as morally and culturally complex as other peoples. We will continue that approach in future books, portraying all the peoples of D&D in relatable ways and making it clear that they are as free as humans to decide who they are and what they do. >Curse of Strahd included a people known as the Vistani and featured the Vistani heroine Ezmerelda. Regrettably, their depiction echoes some stereotypes associated with the Romani people in the real world. To rectify that, we’ve not only made changes to Curse of Strahd, but in two upcoming books, we will also show—working with a Romani consultant—the Vistani in a way that doesn’t rely on reductive tropes. >We're proactively seeking new, diverse talent to join our staff and our pool of freelance writers and artists. We’ve brought in contributors who reflect the beautiful diversity of the D&D community to work on books coming out in 2021. We're going to invest even more in this approach and add a broad range of new voices to join the chorus of D&D storytelling. >Later this year, we will release a product (not yet announced) that offers a way for a player to customize their character’s origin, including the option to change the ability score increases that come from being an elf, a dwarf, or one of D&D's many other playable folk. This option emphasizes that each person in the game is an individual with capabilities all their own.
Can't wait.
>buddy invites me over to play my first game of DnD >head over, group of 5 dudes >making our characters and we all meet in an inn >one guy made a "half elf trap archer" >proceeds to seduce the barmaid and RP with the DM >get up and go home
Ya'll gay.
I remember being like 13 or 14 and playing through this with a friend, start to finish. I was the Red Warrior, he was the Jester. We got a bunch of junkfood from a gas station, bought Magic cards and ordered pizza and played through that game start to finish.
I feel like since then I've been trying to recreate that experience over and over with girls I date and I can never really find one who will put up with it. I got one girl to play through Dokapon Kingdom and X-Men Legends 2 with me, got a couple to play through Magicka and Torchlight 2 with me. Why is it so hard for me to have this?
>I've been trying to recreate that experience over and over with girls I date
Based fruitless endeavor.
The Jumanji reboot series should have been "go into video games" movies instead of "actors you recognize in the jungle".
I just want a Gauntlet movie instead of D&D, so much simpler

>Directors of Vacation and Games Night >They needed TWO DIRECTORS FOR THOSE SHIT MOVIES >israelite last names
Lmao frick no. Its gonna be shit and i loved D&D
Why have they not released a trailer or any promotional images? I feel like I've had these set leaks for years.
Everything other than Lillis looks like complete shit. She's clearly the only reason anyone's interested in the film. It's a bad sign she's dropped to fifth billed, I expected this to be her movie.
Only way to do a DnD movie is to make a live action version of the cartoon.
The appeal of the game is “normal people” interacting with a fantasy world.
If it’s just regular fantasy it’s basically Tolkien with endless random nonsense pilled on top after 40 years of nerds putting whatever nerd stuff they want into the setting
He means that people who play the game never try to create a character who exists naturally in the world, they always carry their own mindset and worldview into the game.
Or they play absolute morons who just do lolsorandum bullshit.
I only took a slight interest of dnd from goblin slayer I can respect people that people hours and dedication to a board game but apparently those are only exceptions as 99% of dnd matches are filled with charisma checks and Gary stu/Mary stu self inserts and maybe less than 1% of people who play do so in good faith
She's playing an ethnically diverse barbarian. Why couldn't they get a chick with a nice body for the role? Why do woke productions hate breasts so much?
Sophia Lillis will cause me to change my boxers in the theaters after I ejaculate in them.
TWO black dudes?
Black person you gay
haha what do you mean
Man she really makes me horny.
AYOOOOO NEW HAPLORHINI JUST DROPPED
Yeah,
I’m jacking off in the theater rest room after watching this film
I FRICKIN' HATE TIEFLINGS
>Sophia Lillis
>Syphilis
what an unfortunate name
Yes she should change her last name to mine as soon as possible. It would be very aesthetic. Rolls off the tongue.
I don't know, you didn't say what it is so I don't believe you.
Its French. And all French names are the peak of aesthetics.
The amount of restraint it took for me not to write a coomer fantasy greentext concerns me a little.
I don't really like the 4th Ed D&D universe. Feels way to high-magic to me and everyone is some half-demon or plane-traveler and knows super-powerful magic from birth.
Setting of the film is forgotten realms
Isn't that the same shit by now? I tried playing that Neverwinter Nights online game and one of the first characters I met was some Demon looking dude acting like he is no big deal and I think there was a floating tavern or some shit.
Not exactly what I remember from Baldurs Gate and the like.
Then I hope they kept all of the thinly disguised fetish shit Ed Greenwood inserted into the earlier editions.
Does Drzzt show up?
DnD doesn't even exist beyond streaming content. It's like dead internet theory but for a game. It's all hype and youtubers, but no one actually buys and plays it.

/tg/ is in a terminal state of nogames.
Anyone declaring nogames is a projecting Redditor.
Whatever helps you sleep
not really. most of people play its just the few elf slave what do homosexuals that dont

So how are they gonna put Trump supporters into this?
>sorry black people, we know that orcs are your obvious racial analogues, but now they aren't inherently evil anymore, do you feel better now?

Ya'll gay.
should of kept the frick out of that gate
My experiences with it weren’t gay, I just found the game to be boring, confusing and lame
It could have been worse, you could have been playing with a furry.
>my first instinct is that it’s a ranger who works with trapping gear
>remember what year it is
Yeah that sucks man
The last didn't do anything at all.
Fool me once...
>that cast
Oh no, it's going to be shit.
D&D like movies > D&D movies
Is it too much to ask the Imperium of Man to flatten the world of Mystara with orbital bombardment?
Will they use creature names that Stranger Things normies know, or will they avoid those?
Which ones?
The ones the Stranger Things characters call the monsters on that show.
Vecna, mind flayer, demogorgon
Mindflayer might because it’s also popular outside of Stranger Things.
1976 Starship Troopers game >D&D
For me? MYFAROG.
I want it bad. JAFFA KREE.
>I've been trying to recreate that experience over and over with girls I date

Can’t fricking wait.

You do have it, it’s just not as good now that you’re older. Move on.
It's just as good when I can make it happen, but girls will rarely sign on for the full experience.
Please stop, I can't take it.
>Directors of Vacation and Games Night
>They needed TWO DIRECTORS FOR THOSE SHIT MOVIES

Both are good films, also they are a duo like Russo bros
Why have they not released a trailer or any promotional images? I feel like I've had these set leaks for years.
Everything other than Lillis looks like complete shit. She's clearly the only reason anyone's interested in the film. It's a bad sign she's dropped to fifth billed, I expected this to be her movie.
Sadly it seems like a "Dungeons and Dragons is for girls and POC too" movie!
D&D has been thoroughly colonized by gays and females for a decade now, bro.
That IS what DnD is, now.
What a cute couple!
Looks more to me like she's flirting with Pine in one of those images.
>roguish fellah in generic leather jacket
Dropped.
The trailer and all that will be revealed at sdcc next week
What garbage tier 3D model is this?
Looks like a mockup of a promotional campaign where they modify some Australian bar to be an advertisement
>trying to cash in on Stranger Things popularity
>Chris "Box Office Poison" Pine
>Michelle Rodriguez
DOA
worked so well the first time
She cute.
Drow
You leave Brutalitops out of this. He did nothing wrong.
i loved the 2000 movie, don't give a frick. jeremy irons played to his strengths and was so hilariously evil

Or they play absolute morons who just do lolsorandum bullshit.
Uh no I'm pretty sure he meant this abortion
Remember the Dragonlance animated movie that somehow got Kiefer Sutherland as Raistlin?
Sorry I don’t speak French
When will the Pathfinderverse have its own movie or other visual media.
If anyone rolls a Bard the game is essentially broken.
How so?
Maybe we had a shitty DM (it was me) but I basically had to cheat to stop the Bard from getting NPCs to do whatever he wanted.
My girl Michelle Rodriguez is in this? What has she been doing lately?
Being my mommy gf
She's playing an ethnically diverse barbarian. Why couldn't they get a chick with a nice body for the role? Why do woke productions hate breasts so much?
Hey, she might not have huge breasts, but she is attractive.
