E-celebs shit aside, is it true?

Do you think the girlboss archetype will quietly fade out in the coming years?

Yes, I think it will fade. It will disappear gradually, when the people making shows and movies realise that women don't even like those characters. It's still alive for now, because even that Fallout shit coming out has a female lead.

        >Girlboss movies get made for the same reason as Holocaust movies

Mhm. What happens if I don't watch? Have they not wasted their time? Yes. I'm smarter than those people, which is why I understand this. It doesn't matter what they make, if I don't watch. I named everything in the image, and I haven't seen any of it:

I can actually name every show and movie in that image, but I haven't seen a single one.
        >Captain Marvel
        >Echo
        >She-Hulk
        >Rings of Power
        >Madame Web
Ask me how many I've seen. The answer is none. None of those characters appeal to me, as a man.

        >who the frick likes them?
You answered your own question; The people who write them like them. These characters are all written by unlikeable people.

You don't watch but a lot of people do. Nowadays with streaming services they can just fake the viewership.
Eventually the lack of an audience will kill the industry but it can limp along with unpopular films for quite a while - it's been doing so for about 15 years

Yep, there's going to be a season 2. I also mentioned Fallout, which will be Rings of Power adjacent. My only hope is that the people who watch those shows enjoy them.

No. Deadpool 3 is going to be filled to the brim with girl bosses. Fantastic Four focuses on a black woman for half the film.

Let me ask you something: aside from the female(male) writer who creates those characters as a self-insert, who the frick likes them?

Females like bland/neurotic underdog female characters they can identify with, males like female characters they would wanna date.

Nobody likes "strong independent woman who will die alone".

        Unlikeable IGNORANT motherfrickers.

Women have no desire to act like men as fighters....because they have men to do that. What appeals to women isn't a "badass" that's fighting men, but it's the woman that uses her femininity and sexuality to manipulate men. Women see these stupid "girlbosses" in these fake ass fights with men, and think it looks dumb, just like the rest of us. They know the difference between us, and know that when it comes down to it, most of them could get their asses beaten and raped by teenage boys, let alone full grown men.

Men don't to women as role models, and we don't look to them as "action stars", because we're the ones that women come to to open the pickle jar, carry the heavy box, and reach the shit on the top shelf. Women "fighters" just look stupid, and little more than children compared to men. It's the men of society that will be forced to do the heavy lifting and put their lives on the line, not women, and the superhero is one of the classic characters that help men understand about their duty and role in society as protectors.

~~*Hollywood*~~ won't figure it out, though, because their hatred of the white majority is stronger than any sense of reason they have. So do your duty and hate them back, and never give them any of your money.

I liked your post up until I saw this. What white majority? You mean the 10% of the planet? The other 90% thinks this shit is absolutely laughable. It's just that the people who make these shows all live in bubbles, and they have no idea what people want. Also, they probably don't care what people want. That leads to people not watching.
I really hope they continue making this garbage, because it's their own lives they're wasting.

There are signs suggesting it will start slowing down, but we're going to have another couple of years of it, minimum. Even if Echo had last minute edits to disconnect it from Daredevil: Born Again it was still grll powa hour, complete with a seventy year old woman beating up Kingpin's goons and Echo herself shaming Kingpin into being a better person. The current rumor is Fantastic Four is going to be Sue-focused, and 'Mr. Fantastic' is her insult for her insufferable husband. Amazon has doubled down on Rings of Power and Wheel of Time.

Yeah, no. I don't think you've ever actually seen a story like that. Have you seen Sicario? That's a much better criticism of strong female characters. Unless Galadriel was unimportant to the story, then you're wrong.

they should just follow the comics, these producers amy pascal, kevin feige don't know who the people who pay for tickets to see these movies really are, they're making them for an audience that doesn't exist, in the comics they're awesome but the writers of the movies don't know how to write female characters and there's still the famous miscast, as long as they cast brie larson and gal gadot for these key heroine roles who wear leotards in comics and diapers in movies, will never work

Baldur's Gate 3 juts won game of the year and is a world wide cultural phenomenon
Almost every single female character is an unfeminine girlboss
You can apply the same to the current state of anime too, people just love these kind of characters.

It's funny how out of touch Cinemaphile is, even compared to other boards on Cinemaphile

      >Almost every single female character is an unfeminine girlboss

Have you even played Baldur's Gate 3? Shadowheart isn't a girlboss, and Lae'zel is tough on the outside, soft on the inside. Those characters are liked because intelligent people wrote them. There's a huge different between that, and what happens in TV and Film.

Do you really need me to start reeling off the dozens of story relevant characters that fit this mould in BG3? It's like getting waterboarded by girlbosses.

If you disliked those characters, why didn't you just kill them? Do you know you can do that? Even your companions can die if you don't like them. You can replace them with henchmen.

I never killed Shadowheart or Lae'zel, because they were likeable people. If someone didn't like them, or any of the NPCs, you can straight up murder everyone. For someone to complain about the characters in Baldur's Gate 3, tells me they haven't played the game.

              Anonymous

Here's my playtime, if anyone doubts I actually played it. Even if you hate everyone, you can side with the bad guys to kill the people you meet. The game was not made by idiots, and they actually considered
              >what if people don't like the characters we made
and they gave those people an option.

That's stupid reasoning that deflects from the issue.
              >Don't like bear sex in the game? Just don't do it, bro
But it being there at all is the issue. Why is it like that in the first place? Why make the decisions as a dev? I'm criticizing the whole artistic merit and vision.

Plus you're not living up to your own standards when you do that. If you think the proper response to things you don't like is to be quiet and never say anything, then why are you posting about this?

    Eventually, yeah.
Actors themselves seem tired of these kinds of roles. Emily Blunt has explicitly said she avoids "strong female characters", and you have to imagine people like Brie Larson and Daisy Ridley have realized they probably would be more respected as artists nowadays if they didn't take the roles of Captain Marvel and Rey.
Couple that with recent flops and I can see this character archetype being quietly dropped.

      >I can see this character archetype being quietly dropped

I think so too, once they realise that even women don't like them. They'll begin to ask themselves who the characters are even made for, and the answer is "themselves". They likely want all women to hate men like they do, but the idea doesn't seem to be popular. I think women would rather be liked, and that's why they dislike these characters.

Much like with "woke", these people will always just stretch the terms to be right. If there's a successful one, that's actually anti-woke, a deconstruction of "girlboss" or whatever.
