Elasticity is an ugly looking power and it’s a good thing Feige got rid of it for Ms. Marvel. Why do people act like "unique powers" are appealing?

It's more of a problem with mediums that East Vs West. Comics and cartoons can do weirder powers just fine in practice, live action is just very, very limited.

Kamala’s stretching powers just felt a hair more unique than Reed’s or Plastic Man’s. She couldn’t stretch to ridiculous shapes or become flat, she could just expand her limbs to be long or big. I never got the impression she was elastic like Reed or Luffy from One Piece. Honestly the change to hard light just felt like a budget issue as it was easier to render and blend than rubbery skin textures. That’s obviously the reason and the forthcoming arrival of Reed just reads like an excuse. We have like 5 super soldier characters and are about to get Armor Wars and more Hulk stuff, so the predicament of multiple people with the same powers feels like a moot issue.

Elasticity is the most based power and takes a true Chad (or Stacy) to maximize it's potential.

The thing I always felt about Kamala's powers that made her feel different from Reed's is that Reed's powers look infinitely more fluid and dynamic than Kamala's do. I know Reed represents the 'Water' element of the team but where his powers look much more free, Kamala just looks rigid and kind of robotic.

You have an extremely moronic perception of how locks work if you think lock picking is as easy as sticking a small item through the hole

Are you really going to draw the line of realism at lock picking?

It's a real shame that it seems to be a power avoided to be given to females. Stretch Armstrong show had no elastic females and Kamala had her powers completely changed even though hers barely count. Hell the multitude of Elastigirl art just flat out ignores her powers. What gives?

      Anonymous

      >What gives?
My theory is that most superpowers that involve some degree of shapeshifting, transforming, or any kind of body irregularities are reserved for men because female characters tend to be given flashy super powers that don't compromise their body shape. Most female characters are made to be sexy and having a weird stretchy body doesn't help that. Of course there are thematic exceptions like Helen being stretchy because moms are pulled in different directions but for the most part if a character has powers that make their body look weird, it's going to be a guy.

        Anonymous

While I do enjoy sexy, its a bit of s shame that it cause certain powers to not be used. Damn shame cause it can look good if drawn well.

Also explains why giantess and muscles is more accepted; one doesnt change the form aside from literal size and the other is muscles which equals strength so most would see it and not bat an eye.
