We3 didn't "get" me. It was shallow and painfully transparent in its emotional manipulation. I felt nothing because I couldn't care less about "muh babyspeak, muh animal experimentation is bad" characters and the annoying gore and edge (look, we're so dark and mature) just made the possibility of me caring about them even less possible. It was pure trite shit.

I've only ever read We3, I don't read capeshit. I remember I went out and bought We3 at my lcs after someone posted a page on here.
And while we're at it, Pride of Baghdad was a whole lot better and any edginess felt completely natural instead of just being plain overbearing and the characters were actually compelling enough for me to care. But Cinemaphile has a boner for Morrison so anything he shits out is pure gold for them.

We3 is good because of Quitely.
I enjoyed Rover Red Charlie, but it was way too edgy for it's own good a lot of the time. As for animal protag stories, We3 did the dark parts without edge well. I'd put Pride of Baghdad and Stray Dogs up there being really good too.
