Biggest problem was tone whiplash. Felt jarring going from hearing some girl talk about suicide and then 10 seconds later we see a racoon marionette man and dick fingers.
Movie would have been way, way better if they kicked out the clowns half way through and focused on main lady and Short Round more. I liked it best when it was aping off Wong Kar wai. The scenes where they're rich movie celebrities were kino

The most detestable habit in all modern cinema is the "homage." I don't want to see another goddamn "homage" in anybody's movie.
I despise gays and think all westoids should be killed. That said, this is the best movie this year. It'll be a shame if Michelle Yeoh loses to mommy blanchett, much as I loved everything about Tar. I think ke guy qwan is at the very least gonna sweep best supporting actor, which is good considering he's the soul of the film.
Better superhero orgin story than 90% of capeshit and did multiverse stuff better than Dr. Strange 2, which was in theaters at the same time. It's a supers film that isn't an adaptation or a part of Marvel/DC and it does it better than 90% of the films shit out by either of them.
