    >Yes Simba, the animals we kill and eat are actually completely fine with being murdered because at some point we are going to die as well, weich makes it okay
    >No don't bother asking them about it, just trust me, they're cool with that arrangement

Then why does he tell his son some moronic story about how the prey animals actually like it

They dont "like it", it's just the natural order of things. Circle of life.

Yes you moron, congrats. It was a joke about how the subtext doesn't work together with the in-universe message.

The in universe message is they are the top of the food chain and therefore in control of the savannah. This is underscored by a song where Simba, future king of Africa, climbs to the literal pinnacle of a mountain of herbivores.

You're the one who is struggling with the message of the movie.

The message is accepting your place and role in the world. That stuff about the animals could be swapped with whatever. You are indeed struggling here and missing the forest for the trees

The only reason we don't do that currently is because they pose us no threat and its more beneficial to us to keep them around as a vital part of the ecosystem. We have done this historically and learned from the consequences of it.

So hyenas have this bad reputation because originally when researchers were studying lions and other creatures they would only go out during the day and would find Lions feasting on a kill and hyenas lurking around them. They assumed the hyenas were trying to scavage any scraps.

When they started following at night, what they actually found is hyenas were intense predators that made all the kills and lions were fricking lazy ass animals that would come in and steal it from them.

It's Jungian symbolism. Mufasa represents positive constructive enegry. He's a dangerous animal that has control over his own capacity for violence.
