At the time he was near top of his game, Highest of profiles and it was more fuel to throw on the metoo movement

Louie is slowly coming back from cancellation, those that actually assaulted people wont have that luxury, people realise that yea, maybe dont jerk off in front of people but its a totally different set of circumstances opposed to "suck my dick and ill put you in all three lord of the rings movies"

      >people realise that yea, maybe dont jerk off in front of people
But he asked them, he didn't do it randomly in front of people. Still gross behaviour but nothing compared to what other people did and have been excused for.

He did this before he exploded into the mainstream too, he wasn't a no-name but he also wasn't world famous comedian. I find it hard to be upset about it, its a little creepy but thats all it is, it's not some unforgivable act, it's his weird fetish that he let go a little too far, but still got consent for every time.

I genuinely don't understand why people had a problem with this. Just say "no."

imagine you start a new job, you're a nobody at the company, the top dog there, somebody that could if he wanted to help you climb the ladder and boost your career asks you to come to his room, he then asks if you mind watching him jerk off. You can say no, but in the back of your head you're thinking its best for your career not to say no, so you say yes even though you didn't want to.

Now this would be more sinister if he actually fricked them or used his power to make sure he could keep doing this but seems like he didn't.

it wasn't on the job, it was a completely consensual thing between adults.
It was shit like this that sunk metoo, outed it as a grift. Like hobos that jump in front of cars.
The entire movement was started by a fat black b***h shaking down nigs for money.

          >it wasn't on the job,

          >rumors of sexual harassment that have quietly dogged C.K. for years. Now, a little over a month after it broke the many allegations against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, the New York Times has released a new report in which several women claim C.K. used his power in the comedy world to sexually harass and intimidate them.

          >The report details the accounts of five women, spanning the mid-’90s to 2005. Each woman recounts startlingly similar situations in which C.K., an established comedian, either asked them to watch him jerk off or forced them to do so. In the wake of these accounts, HBO has announced C.K. will no longer be appearing in Jon Stewart’s upcoming Night of Too Many Stars fundraising show, nor will his past shows be available on HBO anymore. Netflix says it will not move forward with his next planned standup special. FX, which has worked with C.K. for eight years, has released a statement cutting ties with both him and his production company, specifically stating he will “no longer serve as executive producer or receive compensation.” The day after the report, the Orchard announced it would be canceling the release of I Love You, Daddy altogether.

            >to 2005
This is where your argument falls apart. You think Louis was the “ceo” of comedy in 2005? He was a nobody who had a 30 minute Comedy Central presents and directed Pootie Tang. If he was doing this in 2016 when he was hosting SNL and was one of the biggest comedians in the world I’d understand but the dude had no influence or power when he did this.

The number of otherwise pretty much completely uncontroversial celebrities who signed a petition to drop the charges against Polanski is staggering. I mean, even highly respected artists like David Lynch or Wes Anderson signed it. Really makes me wonder if Polanski has some mob connections or something.

It happened in the 1970s. The petition was from 2009.

Yes, and if Polanski had actually served time for it in the 70's and showed actual remorse, you could make a point for it being water under the bridge now. But he didn't, which still makes him a fugitive evading punishment for molesting a minor.

He admitted to it and tried to apologize thinking the left would grant him any forgiveness.

If he had denied it for like a week we could still have Louis kino.
