F is for Family

Do you think Season 5 was a good end point or should it have lasted a little but longer?

    Frick no are you serious?

It ended on a cliff hanger. Even if you wanna consider Bill a secondary character it was abundantly clear they wanted to do an angle where Bill was gonna form some kind of friendship/relationship with Rosie's daughter and then you can dedicate half that season to Bridget being a jealous Yandere over it or her not wanting to choose who she loves more over Bill and Maureen so she settles for both.

bill just needs to go the harem route get rosie's daughter briget and maureen.

Also bridge really needs rape correction, still one of my favorite scene is when bill is a dick to her and she goes subby and loves it that was hilarious.

    >What if Family Guy but conservative and subdued
Guaranteed for failure. FG does well because it holds no reservations

      King of the Hill.

Its essentially Midwest King of the Hill. Frank is essentially Hank both in morals and conservativism the only difference is you're arguing Low Mid Class with actual lower class. The only people poorer then Frank are Rosie's family and they live in a segregated part of town with way more crime and corruption.

Frank LARPS as a Conservative despite being in the 2nd poorest part of Rustvale yet he still has it slightly better then Rosie since Rosie isn't detailing his experience with the Mob with Frank and Frank isnt exactly on good speaking terms with Bob Pogo no more after the ending of S4

I liked the ending came when it did. There really wasn't much more to do with the plot. If it had to continue I'd want a spin-off rather than a straigth up continuation. Maybe a timeskip, to the kids being 8-10 years older and beginning awkwardly entering adulthood, see how their father's emotional journey shaped their upbringing.

What are you talking about? You can do plenty. You could unironically write an angle where Frank comes to the realization that the only reason why he is so committed to Moheekan despite the countless times this company has fricked him over is because he's too scared to seek other careers outside of Candy Salesman

Look at Pogo, he didnt have a successful business and he got his funds from the mob but he was at least brave enough to branch out.

I think more than half of the cast died and a lot of good characters also gone with them so if continued it would be pretty lame. I like the ending okay, for me the series kinda run out of steam and at first the believable and unique setting was getting flanderized when the kids were appearing in the news every 5 episodes.

I was hoping this season would feature a time jump since it was the show needed to keep the conflict believable with the excuse of how much Frank Fathers death affected him, but we just got an simple "life goes on conclusion". I'm well used to with shitty axed ending at this point I know for a fact this is a pretty solid one, but I kinda miss it.

Being perfectly serious I could easily write a Season 6 given how many open ended plots we're left half finished or never explored but honestly the only characters I want closure for are Bridget and Maureen.

I can't think in any glaring plotpoint they left unfinished, nothing major since it was never really about that.

And yeah, I believe you, you probably could continue the series if you wanted and I don't even think it would be bad, my main issue is just that a lot of the appeal of the series to me was how grounded in reality it was, just this short sleeve of a chapter in the life of a family in the 70's going through a rough spot, so as the series continued this aspect was slowly being lost and they were just becoming more and more outlandish with what it was happening in the episodes.

          The police car scene

Dont tell me they didnt have Bill and Rosie's daughter look at each other just to end it there. This was the 1st real instance where Bill wanted to explore more about the personal lives of Frank's Ex-Co Workers considering how Jimmy and Phillip are morons and Bill just wants a better classification of friend.

No. It didn't feel like an ending, they easily could make another season and nobody would bat an eye.

Also Maureen and Bridget had the shittest arc possible in Season 5 considering how their arc was the most memorable in Season 4

Bill, Maureen and Bridget went from having the best arcs to the worst arcs over the course of 1 season difference but frick me they HAD to pretend people care about Kevin.

Would it even be possible for these two to have a healthy relationship?

No. They were starting to focus on Sue with all the characters being introduced with Franks arc ending. Vic was also starting out as a single dad.

    They were clearly cancelled.

Three people died in the making of the show, it's done. S5 dissapointed on the Bill and Maureen arcs but everyone else got their proper ending. The last scene is the perfect way to cap it off
