Marketing is a clever tool which makes not only normalgays think a piece of media will be a success/has organic hype, but it also tricks shareholders and other decision-makers and producers who this greenlight the budgets which can just as easily be written off in tax deductions whether it's a huge actual success or not. Some shareholders are aware of these unwritten machinations, some are.
because they all lie about their numbers in the first place and no federal agency has stepped in to stop them so they're gonna keep producing shows no one wants to watch and greenlighting them to keep production going for all the tax writeoffs they get
