>they're the same kind of shlock they were 10 years ago
Hey, early Family Guy was harmless Seinfeld humor while being moderately more edgy due to it being animation. Post-revival is when all the soap-boxing, politicizing, and writers using episodes as their own personal therapy sessions started.
South Park operates by brainstorming, not having ready made jokes and skits that can be inserted anywhere with "it's like that time when the Governor of Florida decided to rape Mickey Mouse in front of everyone while singing the star spangled banner" and then it cuts to that.
Seth literally laughs about this in his own commentaries for FG dvds. He didn’t take it hard, he’s just grown bitter since Trey & Matt have continued to act like dicks towards him and won’t even extend professional courtesy.
It doesn't help that Seth is a prostitute. I respect him a bit more after he's done some non-sitcom projects, but he has a bad reputation for a reason.
His bad rep is because he made three different versions of the same sitcom, which itself was just a ripoff of the Simpsons. These criticisms are ancient, but they're still true. "Family Guy" was originally about an intelligent dog and the idiot who owned him, but that pilot wasn't paletable for the network so Seth retooled it into the Simpsons and called it a day. He tool a mediocre premise and turned it into a generic one. He deserved to be shat on by his colleagues.
However, I think the Orville has turned all this around. That isn't a cynical cashgrab, more like one part love letter to classic Trek and one part wake up call to Paramount.
He's actually really talented. He's just wasted his talents for two decades.

>He's just wasted his talents for two decades.
hol up >spends 20 years making schlocky humor that the masses seem to enjoy >becomes a household name in entertainment >has 'frick you' money as a result
anon i don't think he's wasted anything at all

He's rich off of garbage and is mocked as a result, then whines that nobody respects him because he produces nothing worth respect for 20 years.
He's a prostitute and gets what a prostitute deserves.
This is legitimately the only time I've ever seen this phrase used correctly and will probably be the last. Anyways South Park it a midwit show for teenagers edgelords meanwhile I've kinda liked getting back into Family Guy.
Family Guy's format aged perfectly for what it eventually became. A show watched mostly via Youtube clips.
Meanwhile a good portion of South Park is neigh unwatchable because of being too topical, too political, wrong, or just so far up its own ass you wonder if anyone on the crew has the balls to tell T&P they're being pretentious... hell that's probably what the show needs, the crew to just do an episode where they shit all over T&P directly and bring them back from Xanadu
>this is coming from the show that always makes episodes on the current thing
Pot calling the kettle black, don'tcha think?
This, family guy is bad but they're the same kind of shlock they were 10 years ago
South Park isn't even edgy anymore lmao, they unironically just spout the mainstream media stuff they would have mocked in the shows earlier season.
My favorite episodes of South Park are the ones not really about current day. I actually enjoyed the stick of truth when that aired.
that was a game
Well I guess I mean the episodes of the kids playing make believe, which the game Stick of Truth is based on.

This episode is probably like 15 years old now. South Park was still pretty good at this point
But anon the current thing is the most important issue plaguing the world whenever the media says so

Are the manatees on strike now?
Yes
Normal words, but a manatee
This didn't age well, modern Family Guy is more watchable than modern South Park.

and what is that bad rep for and what are the reasons anon

I really liked that, was impressed it was done by him

>professional courtesy
why would you show respect to something as shit as family guy kek
Because you both work in the same industry and face similar pressures. You can not like the shows style or jokes, but at least be polite at a party.
Supposedly people who have visited the writer's have been asked if they came to see the manatees so I guess they thought it was good fun.
rich coming from south park, where every episode is a movie reference mixed with a current event.
I don't respect a show that wasted 4 whole seasons before it became watchable
