Fan digitally de-ages Hayden Christensen in the Obi-Wan Kenobi show

Disney couldn't do it though. Small multi-billion dollar company, please understand!

People would complain if they did that.

What? People complained they didn't. Even though they managed to do it in Mandalorian with a deepfake Luke's head on a completely different actor. Removing Hayden's jowls would have been child's play easy.

Remember when they did the digitally edited Grand Moff Tarken in Rouge One and people complained?
Or when they did they did the digitally edited Luke Skywalker in Mandalorian and people complained?

They're damned if they do and damned if they don't.

        Disney money?

Because this time they should use some CGI. 40+ Hayden just doesn't look like 20 years old Hayden. They spend insane money to make fake Leia and Tarkis even that you don't need them in RO. Kenobi is extremely cheap and expensive in same time.

        >this time they should use some CGI
        >opinions about what corporations should do with their money
The most logical decision is never the one they make anyway, no point in even talking about this

This garbage is that close to stranger things on a smaller platform? Disney is unstoppable

Looks too uncanny valleyey but this just some random guy doing it, I imagine if you had an actual team doing the effects it would work. I'm curious as to why they didn't deage, maybe they tried but the lighting made it look weird idk
The show is still shit though lol so are the Prequels, cope and seethe

Yeah I was wondering why they did not just have him dressed as he was in Revenge and have it take place like a year before it all went bad. He was a Knight by then but he was still learning new things from his old master.

Obi-Wan pointed out the same weakness in the flashback Anakin displayed against Dooku at the end of Attack of the Clones. Anakin was simply too good by Ep. 3 as he was a Jedi Knight and a most capable one at that.

These shows are all minimal effort.
    Its all money laundering.

If I was ahead of Disney and saw this comparison, I would be flushed red with complete embarrassment. That one fan did more work than an entire team of "animators". He's the kind of talent and passion Disney is sorely lacking.

Disney had a budget of $25 Million dollars per episode for Kenobi. That's 3x times the budget of Game of Thrones. Yet Disney couldn't bother doing some simpem de-aging for flashback scenes.

But fans did it for free in a few hours after release.

WTF? Where did the $25 million go?

The CG 'artist' would pocket 100 grand for it. People online do it for free.

CG artists are the broken bucks of the film industry, they get table scraps and they have no choice but to like it. If you think deaging this scene would cost them any money you're delusional.

It has to be money laundering and/or funds syphoned into some of the Disney exec's bank accounts, otherwise, I have no clue how they burned that amount of money on these shows.

Yup money laundering, and all the controversies like Black folk and gays and trannies are all a distraction from it.

People complain about bad, key word here bad cg that takes you out of the scene. As demonstrated by this fan who does it for free, the de-aging shown here not only is completely accurate to the story but doesn't detract in anyway from performances. This is something at the very least should have been explored and tested.
