Mid WA movie were his style starts taking over the form and becomes more an stand in on itself. His early movies had his style but still a foot on reality that made it more interesting. I guess you can blame it on being animated and making it that much harder, but I could easily put it on my top 10 movies of the last two decades.

Even the one that is the most "nasty" doesn't do a single thing a farmer wouldn't do in reality.

Moral of the story is it's okay to frick over farmers doing farmer things if you just don't want to live in a hole.
They were some really mean farmers though. The local schoolchildren even had a song about them, you know how mean you gotta be to get a song?
Children will make up a song based on their perception about anything.
Doesn't mean that's evidence of their perception being true.
