The characters are trapped ina video game and they don't like it. It's not that deep, and it's not that dark.

I enjoy the premise but I wish every character didn't slap me in the face with LOOK HOW ZANY I AM GUYS IM SO CRAZY GUYS while being thoroughly one note. Honestly even vivzie is a more nuanced writer

Not talking about that. The more cartoony, one-dimensional your characters are the more they detract from the immersion of an otherwise serious storyline. There's a reason Disney sidekicks are so hated. And at least 80% of characters in this one are le zany sidekicks aka fricking obnoxious characters.
