>favorite episode
Out of Gas of course, but there's something I love in every episode.
>What did you think of Serenity (film)?
Kino. It's a big success as a film, I don't like how it fits with the show though.
>Has there ever been a comfier show?
nope
>Inara or Kaylee?
Inara is the GOAT.
Im glad Im not alone in liking Serenity.
Yeah man, what a solid original sci-fi. The operative was a great villain too. My problem with the movie (besides deliberately killing the franchise) is that show characters weren't in it enough for a finale. Shepherd's death was good but low-hanging fruit, and Inara's plotline comes out of nowhere. The tone is also much darker than the show, with only one cool side character, (Krumholtz) so a departure from the show's strengths.
>Favorite episode?
Our Mrs Reynolds tied with Jaynestown
>What did you think of Serenity
it wasn't good as the series, It kinda confirmed what I thought would happen to the series with River turning out to be discount Buffy
>I also dislike Book's death, would have liked for Book to have a badass moment, even if it was something like confronting the Operative and their fight is offscreen.
>Has there ever been a comfier show?
I wanna say yes but none are coming to mind.
>Inara or Kaylee?
Saffron>Kaylee>River>Inara>Zoe
Ariel
Kino
No
Kaylee
Mal - Scout
Zoe - Soldier
River - Pyro
Book - Demo
Jayne - Heavy
Kaylee - Engineer
Simon - Medic
Wash - Sniper
Inara - Spy
love the way this show handles social class, expecially the women. Status is so fundamental to how women interact. It's a perfect four-way axis Kaylee-Inara and Zoe-River, frumpy to polished and practical to delicate. They're such different archetypes that they never conflict with one another, which would've become a problem for the show, but that's why Saffron exists.
Jaynestown
Good way to make sure there's never a season 2
No
Kaylee obviously
>What are Cinemaphiles favorite episodes?
Heart of Gold and Trash.
>What did you think of Serenity (film)?
Retroactively turns the series from pretty good to great.
>Has there ever been a comfier show?
Yes. Firefly is comfy but a few of the episodes are either boring at points or just flat-out annoying. I had a comfier experience with The Sopranos.
>Inara or Kaylee
Inara is fricking gorgeous but Kaylee is the best girl to ever grace the medium of television. I would kill every anon on this site if it meant I could have one date with Kaylee.
The Message did lower her wife value by a considerable amount though, seeing as how she immediately got over her series-long crush on Simon once Tracey showed up, almost having sex with him in the process, all because of an accidental insult Simon made. Because of this I consider The Message non-canon.
Bro… touch grass
kino opinion except for putting kaylees pussy on a pedestal when she herself doesn't. Tracy was a dead man walking, his interactions with kaylee were child's play compared to the overall scenario.
I appreciate your passionate opinion about Kaylee, and I will fight you for her.
Garbage show. Don’t waste your time.
Something about the way this show is written, it's so good yet so simple. It doesn't seem like some great accomplishment, it seems like this should be the baseline in a just world.
Take the end of the pilot when Mal shoots the fed in the face. It's such a silly quip-type moment, but there's no indication that he could've done that at any time, or that it's just plot contrivance. Just a funny twist that fits perfectly into the setting. That's how you write television, it's the opposite of a shark jump. How did Whedon do it?
>Do you like it anon?
She is literally Kaylee. Kaylee's pretty young in the show, this would've happened to her 10 years down the line.
I hated how they killed Wash for a shock death, the reverent was enough
it wasn't shock. Whedon wanted to kill any possibility of a reboot so fans would leave him alone. He's a moron.
he said it was to raise the stakes, he always does this shit of killing a fan favorite for shock value. Same thing with Coulson in Avengers
Theoretically you can make one more Firefly episode made the same time as Serenity, it can be before or after Serenity and you can use any previous character or even new ones, what do you make that episode about?
Alan Tudyk returns as a lifelike, silvery skinned wisecracking sexbot belonging to Zoe, who still flies the ship but isn't good at it
If I had to choose between a sequel and a prequel to Serenity, I'd say prequel.
It's about how Mal becomes jaded as he is in the film.
>Serenity joins other salvage ships in the spread-out wreckage of a space battle between feds and some miners.
>they've been laughing and joking with fellow pirates on the monitor for a week while heading to remote space. Although Mal is ready for the job, he's lonesome and sniffs Inara's empty shuttle
Serenity flies into the onboard hangar of a cavernous wreck to search for valuables
>There's no atmosphere and low G so Jayne and Zoe load the mule with weights to give it traction, and drive off to the other end of the facility
>When they've accumulated some loot (including the hovercraft from the film) everyone is thrown against the walls by an explosion that moves the whole wreck. An unknown pirate ship that listened to Serenity's transmissions snuck up on them
in the ensuing fight, Mal goes full WWI. One of the friendly ships ends up saving Serenity.
>later feds arrive, and the friendly ship turns to attack. Mal has to leave them to die and not relive the war
>and it's sad
>Inara is super gone too
>the end
>What are Cinemaphiles favorite episodes?
Ariel and Bushwhacked.
>What did you think of Serenity (film)?
Don't like it. It had some good moments and the Operative is great but it's basically a remake of the tv show and for the worse.
>Has there ever been a comfier show?
Farscape.
>Inara or Kaylee?
Kaylee easily. Morena Baccarin is an incredibly beautiful woman but Kaylee has a better character than Inara.
I just realized Gordon Malloy is kind of an homage to Wash.
he dosen't have a nigress for a wife though
No, he doesn't have a beautiful badass dark skinned wife, but he is a dorky badass pilot who looks a bit like Alan Tudyk.
Out of Gas
Shindig
Jaynestown
Objects
Kaylee with those extra 15 pounds.
Serenity the movie was good but not as good as the series.
I haven't watched it in at least 7 years so I can't remember a best episode.
I think the hospital break-in one, because I like Jayne's semi-arc
>Don't tell the others. Make something up.
Very good, but I kind of despise movie finales for tv shows.
None comfier.
Inara.
I'm a sucker for the will-they-won't-they shit and she had this good mix of haughty, perfect beauty with a human cuteness below the facade.
Ariel is the caper episode.
>Jayne's semi-arc
it's too bad he'll never be in any reunion since he came out as a conservative
Joss Whedon is probably alt-right now.
There just needs to be a series of scandals for the rest of the cast to fall in line.
What are Cinemaphiles favorite episodes?
i remember liking the one with the people that worshiped buddy as a hero

They're called noses now, as in npc noses
>They're called noses now
jej
Serenity was too derivative.
she deserved better
I wish I had a Summer sexbot
They will never be cheap and effective.
like your mother?
She just got very unlucky with projects, both this and OP show should’ve had at least 5 seasons, she just got repeatedly cancelled.
I based a character in a rolepying game I ran off of her. Same basic idea, girl with psychic powers being chased by a cult that wanted to exploit them. They ended up capturing her when she shot at them thinking they were from the cult, and surgically crippling her. This is in a dungeons and dragons type of game. Just in a fallout type setting. I decided from then on to stop taking inspiration from firefly. Oh and none of them ever noticed the character was based on River, they just kept her in a wheelchair until she died of meningitis.
ungrateful b***h
it's not the most flattering likeness. Just look at that frame though
>when the hoverhand repulsors are at maximum but not working
Farscape? More like farcope lmao gg
I stopped watching 15 seconds in to the theme song so I couldn't say
you actually have to make it through 4 whole episodes before the point of the show becomes clear. For a short show it has a lot going on.
What's the point of the show?
love
>Squandered potential: The Television Series
And the theme song sucks. Imagine the ego of Whedon thinking he’s a decent enough songwriter to just toss together his own theme song. John Carpenter, he ain’t. How high on your own supply would you have to be?
>And the theme song sucks.
I like it. It's westerny.
A show that was killed out of the gates by it's own theme song.
Also Nathan Fillion was peak reddit probably before reddit existed I guess
are autistic.
