      yea, its pretty pozzed.
imo only the first season was kinda worth

if you want space kino, watch the europa report
and ofc the obvious suspects, 2001, 2010, apollo 13, etc

Those weren't really black people in the intro, merely English actors in costume

Black haven’t even invented the wheel yet as a culture, but here they are standing on the shoulders of every other race and calling themselves tall. Society as a whole would be better off without them. That’s a fricking fact.

I could barely make it through the 1st season from boredom. Did I get filtered? This was years ago so admittedly I don't remember much. Is it worth giving it another try?

its not for everyone, but it does have its moments. Personally i think its one of the best shows on the platform besides severance

        >Personally i think its one of the best shows on the platform besides severance
        I would say

        1) Severance
        2) Ted Lasso
        3) Servant
        4) For all Mankind

        Rest is shit

Ted Lasso's 2nd season sucked more than the first season was good

          I thought See was OK

        meh
as kino as the shuttle was (the real one and the imaginary one in your webm), the truth is that its a shitty wasteful idea.
elons self landing rockets are the way to go, especially if they ever manage full reusability
the shuttle cost like 1bil per launch
how much does a falcon 9 cost?

          Anonymous

          >a shitty wasteful idea
it could cost 10% as much and that still wouldn't save america's space program. there is no limit to the amount of tax money that can be redirected into the spic-nig cycle.

Anyone who has played ksp knows that probably wouldn't have enough fuel to get to orbit and even if it did it would barely have enough to deorbit itself.

          Anonymous

          +1
iirc the RL space shuttle barely had enough to circularize, do some small maneuvers and deorbit
the vast, vast majority of its deltaV was the boosters and the main engines running from the orange tank
          the rest was peanuts.

Presumably those wings are big fat fuel tanks, combined with the higher ISP of a nuclear thermal rocket and other alternate timeline materials advancements they might have, it's somewhat plausible.
What I don't like is how it appears to have two big fat scramjet engines that do absolutely nothing. I suppose it could use them for landing but that's super inefficient to haul them through the entire mission when they could just glide instead.

See dabs on For All Mankind, and See isn't that amazing or anything
Severance is the only actually good show on there

First half of season one is kinda slow, particularly the female astronaut training stuff. It gets more interesting in the latter half though.

I literally speed through the relationship drama shit that's there for women, and enjoy the tech aspects. They've scoured the archive materials to create a plausible alt history version of the space race and it's really good.

its great. yall motherfrickers are so pozzed in the head you just can't get yourselves to talk about the main point of the film: space is interesting, it's a frontier that needs to be pushed to express the greatness of humanity. it's challenging. it's dangerous. it's the thing we should have kept at seriously. that series got it right and is more inspiring than the last 20 years of star trek content, at that level.

its not part of the plot or anything, just 2 seconds of the photo montage at the start of the movie to give us a feel of the world they live in.

Man the premise is interesting and the space firefights in S1 were kino AF but there are too many Black folks and women. The two very types of people keeping us from doing this shit for real.
