I managed to get Baxinger and Sasuraiger just as they were going OOP. I'm making a bootleg BD of Braiger to put on the shelf next to these until I find a second-hand copy.
That was an accident due to them sharing a slide with the J9 trilogy, they're still in print for now.

And for those unaware Crunchyroll bought Rightstuf the day before yesterday, we're about to see most/all of their catalogue on there. Sony is really making an anime distribution monopoly.
I've got Acrobunch, Braiger, and Baxinger. I was holding off on Sasuraiger until I had some extra cash to spend on discs. Guess I should have pre-ordered.
Also, I'm surprised I haven't seen scalpers put up secondhand copies for 300 bucks yet.
>I was holding off on Sasuraiger until I had some extra cash to spend on discs.
I was going to hold off until I could get all three at the same time. I just assumed they would restock. Stupid me, I guess.
It was about the license expiring? I thought maybe it was just a limited run they weren't interested in doing another one of. I wonder if they could do POD anime blu-rays to cut costs and make the entire catalog of 70s and 80s stuff available? Someone phone up Discotek and ask them.
>It was about the license expiring?
I'm just guessing but I can't think of anything else it could be. If they can sell out then they could reasonable sell more and there was no sign that it was just gonna be a fine run compared to their other titles.
Strong vibes of some licence issues behind the scenes, heard a load of stuff from same licensor are coming down from Retrocrush without much warning as well.

I kind of wonder if it was a bulk deal sort of thing and the length of the license started counting down a long time before many of these products were even announced.

To be fair Discotek gave zero indication J9 as a limited run/had limited copies. None.
The reality is that it doesn't matter if you are actually him, the fact remains that you/he fricked up a long time ago by admitting and proving you/he work for Discotek.
Given the fact that we have gotten non stop Discotek release threads for months out of nowhere doesn't paint a very convincing picture.
Unfortunately we are better off assuming anyone who mentions them is working for them.
Because they could have instead just made a thread talking about a series and not bringing up "hey guys just so happens discotek is releasing a series no one fricking cares about besides the OP, aren't you guys EXCITED?!! Flame effect text.
Now you're just being stupid. If a new show gets licensed and is going to be distributed then it's only sensible that the people licensing shit will come up as part of the conversation. It's relevant information. Throwing a tantrum just because someone mentioned a company exists is just a ludicrous reaction. Hell this OP didn't even mention them by name. He just said the sold out. Which is true.

Denying all the other discokek threads in the past couple weeks would be EXTREMELY disingenuous.

The only time we had a thread was when there was a major release or an event. Which is pertinent to the interest of getting more shows subbed. We've had more threads from the salty poor gay throwing a tantrum when things don't get ripped.

Oh no, some one made a thread to talk about a show getting an official western release! how dare we. that means we can't have more room for b***hing about gundam. Grow a skin.

Not really. Like i said, it's just the situation.
Blame Discotek for directly shilling here. Regardless of how often they actually do it.
I've always assumed that the discotek threads were generally made by someone working for them, particularly the ones that specifically bring up discotek announcing things soon, but I've never understood why that's supposed to be a bad thing. /m/ is into a lot of obscure shows that no one else is likely to license and if them making threads on here and then looking at what shows we mention makes it more likely something gets a US Blu-Ray release, then we should just use that to our advantage.

I don't work for Discotek, I wanted to celebrate Dorvack getting an official release and make a hype train going for Battle Hackers since the latter is one of the few remaining mecha titles to get FRICKING ZERO Enlgish subs, not even crabsticks or ARR machine translations.
Discotek is the only western anime distributor that both releases old shows and actually puts some effort into their releases. Sekavis could come on here himself and say "buy our products lol" and I wouldn't give a shit because I got all of 009 for under 50 bucks
I managed to grab all 3 in a single order before they went out of print. It should arrive in a few days.
If anyone has instructions on how to rip them then I don't mind giving it a try so they aren't lost.
I checked recently and all three of the releases were on nyaa; not many seeders though

It's not that I don't understand the need to keep corporate interested separate from control of fandom. I've seen far too many hobbies fall victim to becoming their respective commercial overlords little b***hes but I feel like there's still a world of difference between that and pointing out relevant products that fans might actually be interested in. You don't want to let the industry own you but you also can't be so quick to fly off the handle any time someone even talks about distributors. This isn't like some censored wiki that can only heap praises.

Also the files are badly labeled so yes a proper with involving proper filenames so people know what the hell they are getting would be beneficial. Filenames are all gargled shit.

That's because it's a raw BDMV dump rather than a full encode.

Then we need a full encode of Baxingar, Sasuraiger, Machine Robo, and Dorvack. Or someone make DDLs.
While an actual encode would be tops, I didn't have that hard of a time getting the Sasuraiger BDMV to play on VLC.

Because we are being sold to, i won't play dumb and pretend i don't understand 'how things are' but they can do it somewhere else. We can recommend our obscure bullshit during their streams/directly to them just as easily. We don't need their presence here.
The guy that typically does it will often identify himself if pressed or baited hard enough and he shows up often enough that is troubling and at least gives credence to all/most threads being made by him.
And that is the crux of all of this, typical poster paranoia is normal, they have feed it by pushing their luck. All of this is on them.
Well, you have to make sure the purchases arrive safely, otherwise you have a really poor business discotek. I would say that's very much your problem.
So what's the big want from Discotek now?
They did the J9 trilogy.
Not /m/ related but Urusei Yatsura seemed to be heavily asked for on twitter.
Other companies are doing Macross.
The Brave series perhaps?
Kirby: Right Back at Ya seems to have a growing vocal group on twitter too.
I just want Kikaider The Animation and the Re-Edition of Kikaider 01 that was never released in the west. That’s all. Guess 009 sold poorly for all the unnecessary work they had or something.
Wait didn't Sasuraiger only just came out? Frick I only bought Braiger. Now my J9 collection will forever remain incomplete. Any people wonder why piracy exists.
Man the J9 series really sold like hotcakes then
I managed to get Baxinger and Sasuraiger just as they were going OOP. I'm making a bootleg BD of Braiger to put on the shelf next to these until I find a second-hand copy.
Ugly hand. Gross.
Yeah I got all 3.
Just a heads up Discotek heavily implied that Machine Robo and Dorvack will also likely go out of print soon as well, i you want a copy get it now.
There are about to be a lot of lost subbed shit if multiple rips aren't being done.
I just want a torrent.
They said that was a mistake and Machine Robo did very well for them.
It can do well and still fall to licensing issues.
That was an accident due to them sharing a slide with the J9 trilogy, they're still in print for now.

I only got braiger
What annoys me is how Rightstuf still lists the products even though you can't actually get it.
And for those unaware Crunchyroll bought Rightstuf the day before yesterday, we're about to see most/all of their catalogue on there. Sony is really making an anime distribution monopoly.
Me no like. Bad medicine.
I've got Acrobunch, Braiger, and Baxinger. I was holding off on Sasuraiger until I had some extra cash to spend on discs. Guess I should have pre-ordered.

To be fair this is probably the fastest I thin I've ever seen a license expire.
It was about the license expiring? I thought maybe it was just a limited run they weren't interested in doing another one of. I wonder if they could do POD anime blu-rays to cut costs and make the entire catalog of 70s and 80s stuff available? Someone phone up Discotek and ask them.

There probably aren't enough copies to scalp
This is still really niche anime I suspect most are just going to pirate now.
Why the frick did this happen? Why can't they print more? I only got Braiger.
Current theory is some issue with the licence.
Which you know because you are literally working for them.
You are always so obvious.
You have a serious paranoia complex
Get a trip discoshill.

I'm more of Bazingaer guy myself. Any news on scrimblobimbloger?
No i just download all of J9
Where though?
If someone from Discotek is really here I just wanna send a big frick you to them because I didn't get my copies and I'm salty.
Your problem, not ours.
Well, you have to make sure the purchases arrive safely, otherwise you have a really poor business discotek. I would say that's very much your problem.
I managed to grab all 3 in a single order before they went out of print. It should arrive in a few days.

So, from what I understand, /m/ would rather have no subs or crapsticks then having Discotek make official subs even if it's limited release?
It's just a couple samegays spazzing out
I would rather they don't spam the board with their shilling. Their business is irrelevant to me.
Why do you guys keep misrepresenting the issue?
The issue being Discotek shilling on the board.
Not Discotek releasing stuff.
I don't work for Discotek but I like what they do.
Then we need a full encode of Baxingar, Sasuraiger, Machine Robo, and Dorvack. Or someone make DDLs.
Never said you did, but you are awfully defensive about it.

I'm still waiting for them or anyone for that matter to put out a Mazinkaiser BD release.
Is Mazinkaiser cel animation or early digipaint, that'll affect quality of any possible BD release.
Despite ADV's claims it was "STATE OF THE ART ANIMATION!" Mazinkaiser was done traditionally.
Kinda surprised it hasn't got a BD then, since cel animation scales beautifully in BDs.
Since it seems like tokusatsu is once again on the table, I want a blu-ray release of Iron King.
doesnt 4kids own the kirby localization? with them gone who owns the distro
Honestly dont care if they are going to yank everything off the shelf immediately.
The situation with them abruptly losing their Enoki Films licenses definitely isn't normal.
Braves
Zoids

How did Jinraiger fall through?
They had difficulty getting it funded, but Yu Yamamoto dying was probably the final nail in the coffin.
Also issues with animation studios being booked up for like 2-3 years in advance.
SOOOOOOOLAR WIND
Wait didn't Sasuraiger only just came out? Frick I only bought Braiger. Now my J9 collection will forever remain incomplete. Any people wonder why piracy exists.
