McCracken’s original “Foster’s” targeted 6-11s, while the new “Foster’s Home” is preschool
Creator of “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends,” which won Emmys and Annies, Craig McCracken (also known for “Powerpuff Girls”) is back with a completely new original series targeting pre-schoolers. In it, a now-young group of preschool imaginary friends learns from an immature elder friend, Bloo, who, as in the original, still unintentionally gets things wrong. McCracken has promised the same fast pace but a fun, simpler structure and less cynical humor. Only Bloo and Madame Foster return.
A clip shown at Annecy showed the friends making perfect meal with broccoli, ice cream, cookies, lollipops, popsicle sprinkles, whipped cream and chocolate, strawberry shake and bananas. Bloo is there but doesn’t stop their folly- They declare it a “masterpiece,” but all but Bloo end up sick with tummy-ache.

So I guess everyone else got adopted then huh
You think Frankie's absent because they didn't want kids to immediately find out about the mountain of porn?
That said, you could argue Frankie moved out and Mac had to move on but what the frick happened with Herriman?
It didn't say they'd be gone entirely, just not part of the regular main cast. Maybe we'll get a few cameos from other characters. Probably not Herriman since Tom Kane retired
>Only Bloo and Madame Foster return.
>less cynical humor
Jesus the fosters is mean spirited meme really spread THAT far?
Ask Mr. Enter
He didn't invent the term.
funny enough his bendy video literally starts off by saying he thought fosters was a great show. Like literally in the first 10 seconds
Imagine being more sensitive than him
imagine watching him
I predict that Bloo will be inexplicably reverted back to his pilot/early season 1 personality after inexplicably turning into a c**t for most of the original shows run
Duh (it's for preschoolers)
I'm surprised Wilt and Eduardo are not in it (their personalities fit perfectly in this type of show)
Wilt was ruined by shitty writing so badly that I'm glad he was retired from the show. And this is coming from a Wiltgay.
Better no Wilt than a ruined Wilt. Not sure why the writers had such a fetish for making him act out of character
According to Craig McCracken Bloo was popular with older kids, Wilt was favored by teenage girls. But Eduardo was actually the little kiddies favorite

He didn't mention Frankie. She's obviously popular with boys and men, I wonder how many girls and women liked her
I wanna know how many girls were into Mac
none
I was like 7 and yes I had a crush on him. I loved the episode where he had a sugar rush and got naked. Of course I didn't understand the nuance of WHY I liked a boy being naked yet, but regardless, I did have a crush on him.
I am surprised EDUARDO isn't the main character. Big fuzzy buddy is a hit with toddlers. Kids also love purple. It's why Bonzi Buddy killed millions back in the day.
We already saw what happens with you mix Eduardo with the nursery friends, spoiler alert it did not end well for Eduardo
Wilt's character (a friendly tall guy who says sorry all the time and is good at basketball) works well in a preschool show (and works far better than a show aimed at older kids)
Not saying it wouldn't work well, I'm more surprised about Bloo being the character of choice for this. Eduardo and Coco would work best
Edoardo is more liked by little kids though and Wilt is more popular among older fans. If I was the creator of a show I'd make decisions based on the data I collected
>Bring back one of the most annoying MCs in existence
>But do so before an audience that has no awareness of what you created earlier
Smart move - hopefully Craig alters his personality at least somewhat, or else he will have kids dropping dead from cringe overload.
Also any chance of cheese? Or is he and Fred fredburger seen as ableist nowadays
So Bloo becomes a groomer?
>Bloo is neglectful and doesn't stop literal toddlers from ingesting their terrible meal
PERHAPS... Perhaps there's hope for this to be funny, actually.
So it won't be focused on comedy since it's a preschool show? I can't think of a single preschool show that doesn't have lessons as the main focus and is meant purely for entertainment
Classic Sesame Street is pretty funny
Craig's new Powerpuff Girls series will be CGI as well
Hand-drawn animation found dead in a ditch
killing myself
Well, that Danced Panced or whatever special didn't look too bad. Still, that's a huge blow to my interest in the reboot/revival series.
>mixed media PPG
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
If it’s cel shaded CG then it should be okay
Nah That looks terrible
for once i don't think the 3D move is a terrible idea, the mixed media format for fosters fits perfectly with the concept and the teaser doesn't look bad visually. PPG i'm a bit more skeptical on.
Craig was never going to go back to hand drawn animation after Fosters.
The 10th anniversary special for the PPG was animated in flash.
It’s entirely possible that Dexter and PPGs could have used flash had the tech been around earlier.
I mean I would've preferred the tweening animation in Fosters and Wander over CGI
>Only two of the main cast is returning
>THIS is what gets aimed at kids ages 6-11 now
I remember back when 6-11 meant picrel
it's so crazy to me how the OG Foster's alongside the rest of Cartoon Network's lineup was also aimed at 6-11s, but nowadays they're considered too edgy and cynical for kids, so they're shoved onto the Adult Swim block.
What the frick happened?
Read moron, it's a preschool show
>>THIS is what gets aimed at kids ages 6-11 now
>"McCracken’s original “Foster’s” targeted 6-11s"
dumbass
We got pushed back into the little kid 80s era
It better not be Strawberry shortcake tier
nice reading comprehension, frickface, maybe you should've watched more preschool crap
>no Wilt, Eduardo, and Coco
>not even Mr. Herriman
>no Mac, Frankie, and Goo either
>stuck with the two most boring characters on the show
Get me off this ride.
>NOOOOO I can't fap to this!
>Who cares this is being made for preschoolers, I need my waifus and husbandos!
please have a nice day immediately i've never seen someone purposefully distort and skew something into the worst possible interpretation this badly
My point still stands: someone who didn't even exist until fairly recently is not going to be aware of such characters as Mac or Frankie. Only when this audience grows up they might learn that there was a previous, older version of their beloved cartoon. Will you be there to welcome there, or will you screech at them?
>someone who didn't even exist until fairly recently is not going to be aware of such characters as Mac or Frankie.
And that's fricking CN's fault for not rerunnung the damn show you moron. For a channek that wants to recycle nostalgia they're sure as hell afraid of doing exactly that.
>Bloo and Madame Foster
>Boring
They were obnoxious and selfish buttholes at their worst but they were also two of the very few regular characters who could be genuinely funny at times.
The one made out of scribbled lines looks like fun.
someone should draw Vibri getting gangbanged by a bunch of Scribbles
Is this the new Foster's thread? If so, post Frankie
>If so, post Frankie
Anon...
There is no such character in "Foster's funtime for imaginary friends".
Boringgay
You can post your overrated waifu in the dedicated Frankie threads
>Madame Foster
>alive
The theory she or Frankie are imaginary friends themselves are really starting to make more sense now.
Except that shit's been debunked a long time ago by Craig and Lauren themselves, they originally wanted to make a Thanksgiving special about Frankie's family but it ended up being about Wilt instead (unfortunately).
Ha ha. No adult Mac, Neither adult Frankie.
>Mentioning Cheese
Oh no, this fricker is going to show up in the new series too, isn't he?
>pushing out of a timeskip
Dead on arrival show
>less cynical humor
That's the appeal of the original show though, sterilizing it is lame
I hope some of the original characters will get a cameo at least
Come to think of it, how fast do imaginary friends age?
They don't
They are imagined the way they are. Herriman looked the same when Madame Foster imagined him when she was a little girl. Same for Eduardo
A show for preschoolers isn't made for us, but I hope it will be a good show for them. Something I'd let my kids watch
Sounds cute, the mixed media approach seems interesting
We're really entering a dystopian revival era of pop culture. Fricking Foster's Home getting a preschool reboot and Regular Show getting a "new series"
what the frick man
People don't talk enough about the deterioration of Bloo's voice throughout the show. It's almost on par with Cosmo. Listening to him in the House of Bloo's vs Goodbye to Bloo is night and day.
The new FoP has been making Ref's to the previous series which is what the original series started actively avoiding after how stagnant the series started to get
This entire concept in no time at all is gonna just become "Hey remember the original show? Go watch that."
