People keep saying this and I don’t understand why. Did they have a falling out or is this just rumor because googling and reading a few articles all today the same thing; people speculate that there was tension but according to the actors there wasn’t.
>not set in Seattle >no Niles >no Martin >no Eddie >no Cafe Nervosa >no Elliott Bay Towers, Apartment 1901
This is a show that happens to star Kelsey Grammer. It's not Frasier.
could be kino, but somehow I suspect Frasier is going to be a secondary character in his own show and the plot is going to revolve around his son and how they frick each other
Most Americans take their shoes off I think. It's only a thing on television because it looks odd to see people in sock feet. I'm a Leaf and we take our shoes off so they have to.
It looks terrible tbh. I can’t believe it’s in Boston and Niles and Daphne aren’t even in it. This a show featuring the character of Frasier, but this ain’t Frasier.
Grammer is an old school Republican, from back when they didn't let hill billies solely represent them.
Why not Boston for the original Frasier show then? They set it in Seattle (supposedly) so the network wouldn’t ride them about reunion episodes because nobody will believe the cheers gang is jumping on a plane once a month.
Now this ensures none of the rest of the old cast are going to show up except for one of reunion shows like when they all traveled to Boston on Frasier.
Well considering Niles didn't want to do the show and Mahoney is dead it makes sense to put it in a city where Frasier has established relationships. The old cast wasn't coming back no matter what so staying in Seattle wouldn't have mattered

I guess you have a point. Sounds like it’s going to suck any way you slice it. To me at least.
I'm no Frasier autist but the wikipedia says Seattle is his hometown.
Besides people in Boston don't need a psychiatrist, they just drink. His job prospects are probably much better helping hippies in Seattle who believe in therapy.
I moved to Chicago for college and stayed until my late 20s before moving back to my hometown. I still know a lot of people there. If my parents and closest friend died or left, I’d probably move back to Chicago. I think it’s pretty reasonable to have Frasier return to Boston.
>AYO FRASHER >Yes, Olivia? >GETCHO WHITE ASS OVUH HERE AND APOLOGIZE FOR DONALT TRUMP
[audience laughs] >Of course, and thank you for being the best Dean of Psychiatric Medicine that Harvard has ever had.
[Loud “awww” from the audience]
>Baby toys on the coffee table >On top of magazines about sports and cycling >Winnicott and Freud books on the bookshelf >Dummies’ guide to something on the top shelf >Wooden bingo set
This reminds me I have to watch Frasier.
It was never that popular in my non-anglo country so it was always aired way late night, and mostly shuffled in random order because frick my soul.
Wish me luck!
The fact it even aired at all over there is strange. I could see Simpsons or maybe Friends or Seinfeld but Frasier? Are you in Latin America by any chance? You guys seem to get a lot of our old TV shows
This. That apartment was 90% of the appeal of the show. Everyone who watched that show knows it was the 90s television equivalent of "lofi hip hop radio - beats to relax/study to". It put you in a trance through its predictable and comforting ambience—a cosy, tastefully decorated space with a peaceful city skyline view, with some well-dressed but relatable dudes having mildly amusing arguments over low-stakes problems. Frasier and Niles could have just sat in that apartment doing a podcast and people still would have watched it. By taking away that ambience and replacing it with whatever the frick that horrible middle-class Two and a Half Men style interior is, they have destroyed all the escapism and the whole reason for watching the show in the first place.
Yeah I noticed that after I posted it. It doesn't really give me much of a bar feel, but whatever it's cool that their regular place of hangout is a bar.
>Frasier moves back to Seattle and gets a new apartment >Martin dies and leaves his chair to Frasier in the will >Martin's chair is stuck with Frasier forever
Would be a decent gag I reckon
I was going to make a mean spirited post but I realized that Ted Danson is still good in the public eye (looking at you Boomer Cellular) so he could make a guest appearance.
how many writers from the original Frasier are coming back? Niles and a bunch of the old crew not coming back is a setback, but getting the old writers back on board can fix a lot of that.
This would actually be kino. I can’t think of two American cities that are more different than Seattle and Miami, could lead to some funny fish-out-of-water scenarios.
This would actually be kino. I can’t think of two American cities that are more different than Seattle and Miami, could lead to some funny fish-out-of-water scenarios.
>it's a 'Frasier once again laments the fact that it's to hot to wear his fanciest suits and he has to make do with some light linen stuff' episode
>Screenshot obviously taken near Ocean Beach >Mini-map showing Vercetti Estate on Starfish Island
Boy, I really hope someone got fired for that blunder.
>So much has changed in 20 years
It truly hasn't. A couple thousand people in positions of power over television programming and magazine/news editing have forced their consensus on hundreds of millions.
30 Rock had amazing episodes sadly the twitter outrage crowd wouldn't have it
when picrel first aired they called everybody who sid it's not okay to so black face and racist for trying to make these harmless comedy skits about race and 10 years later they got the episodes banned because they themselves said it was racist to so blackface
im surprised they didnt make it into >frasier becomes jordan peterstein >frasier starts an alt right podcast and we laugh at the chuds >frasier gets bested by sons strong independent black wife
>not a single one of the original cast except for Frasier himself >particularly no Niles >Freddy seems like some insufferable moron and the show seems centered around him

For me, it's >the restaurant >Niles dressed as Jesus while they're pretending to be israeli >all of the performers Niles hired for his proposal who have to sneak out of his apartment after Daphne gets the flu, where Frasier fricking full body tackles the trumpeter in the background at the end >Nanny G >the radio play

It feels like in-universe a lot of Frasier's fame would come from him being this insane unstable Kanye West-esque figure who people pay attention to because they want to see what crazy thing he'll do next
Reminder that every dynamic in the original show is dead on arrival
No niles, no sibling rivalry
No marty, no vicariously feeling snootier than your parents or more down to earth than your children
No eddy
No daphne, no secret unrequited love interest or dreaming about a piece of ass taking care of you when you are old
Frasier is older, probably no carrot on stick dating episodes
If they do any of this it'll feel forced and fall flat. They have do go into uncharted territory and you don't catch lightning in a bottle twice.
brehs....
this is now a frasier thread
Will The Chair™ be there or not? That's all that matters to me.
he is gonna be so happy
Such a great story. Essentially a happier version of Galaxy Quest
Man rereading this I was actually surprised at how recent it was. In my brain it feels like a greentext story from like five years ago.
they better not frick up this revival
they owe it to him
It's going to suck
we are in the era of nostalgia reboots
sucking is irrelevant
Wow, it's old thing but worse again!
>The setting will also involve a university campus
Not a good sign.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frasier_(2023_TV_series)
He's a Harvard grad, the co-star is his college buddy and a Harvard Professor
>had to lower the key so Kelsey could sing it
Bad omen
Listen doc, you’re not hitting these notes with a pole vault.
>no Niles
Dead on arrival. The best part of the show was Frasier and Niles' banter and rivalry
I don’t think David Hyde Pierce would
Want to be a part of anything related to Kelsey for the rest of their lives
Why
People keep saying this and I don’t understand why. Did they have a falling out or is this just rumor because googling and reading a few articles all today the same thing; people speculate that there was tension but according to the actors there wasn’t.
Why did they have a beer there? Frasier hasn't been known to drink beer since Cheers. Frasier would rather a sherry or something
he drank balentine in the early seasons with martin
He's back in Boston, so I guess that means he's back to slumming it.
>Episode 1
>Frasier walks out of his apartment and gets AIDS from stepping on a used needle
I just went back to listening to Frasier episodes to fall asleep. Super comfy.
i know that feel, my parents would stay up late watching Frasier all the time
Recently watched Only Fools and Horses without realizing that Rodney's in the new Frasier.
RODNEY YOU PLONKER
>not set in Seattle
>no Niles
>no Martin
>no Eddie
>no Cafe Nervosa
>no Elliott Bay Towers, Apartment 1901
This is a show that happens to star Kelsey Grammer. It's not Frasier.
Not looking forward to seeing how they shoehorn Roz into the show now that it's not in Seattle, and they apparently don't work together anymore.
They were more than just co-workers. Not unusual for friends to travel to see each other.
None of those were in Cheers either
and cheers sucked
But I don't give a shit about Cheers, I'm not 40.
I’m almost 45 and I don’t give a shit about cheers
>No one's posted the photos
could be kino, but somehow I suspect Frasier is going to be a secondary character in his own show and the plot is going to revolve around his son and how they frick each other
This is going to be the modern equivalent of “The Bob Newhart Show” vs “Newhart” isn’t it?
>americans wear shoes inside
>americans sit on the armrest of the sofa and put their dirty shoes where they at other times sit
Most Americans take their shoes off I think. It's only a thing on television because it looks odd to see people in sock feet. I'm a Leaf and we take our shoes off so they have to.
give them all slippers
>Europeans think that sitcoms accurately represent reality
He's clearly wearing socks
wear shoes inside
lots of scorpions in dusty seattle
We don't walk in dirt. We have sidewalks and cars esl.
It's these non Americans that think tv shows are reality. Remember that.
w w what is thish?
I hate it so much already
It looks terrible tbh. I can’t believe it’s in Boston and Niles and Daphne aren’t even in it. This a show featuring the character of Frasier, but this ain’t Frasier.
That won’t matter.
>I can’t believe it’s in Boston
Thats where Frasier is from. Why not Boston? Its where his character originated and where his son always lived

>Upper-class israelite Freddy Crane's romantic interest is a non-descript mystery meat girl
I AM WOUNDED
Frazier is likely on the verge of a meltdown in the presence of this squalor.
You think Kelsey is getting more shit faced than usual for these scenes?
Looks like the Night Court reboot they just tried
>and that's How I Met Your Therapist
>AYO FRASHER
>Yes, Olivia?
>GETCHO WHITE ASS OVUH HERE AND APOLOGIZE FOR DONALT TRUMP
[audience laughs]
>Of course, and thank you for being the best Dean of Psychiatric Medicine that Harvard has ever had.
[Loud “awww” from the audience]
>Baby toys on the coffee table
>On top of magazines about sports and cycling
>Winnicott and Freud books on the bookshelf
>Dummies’ guide to something on the top shelf
>Wooden bingo set
Remember how the Fraiser apartment set was gigantic and looked like a real apartment?
It seems like they're dropping all of the high society aesthetics for working class nonsense.
Oh no pitting him against young characters like he's an old square, kino cancelled.
So Rodney is the new Niles?
If the show is just Frasier and Rodney double teaming black chicks then i'm in.
This post is funnier than anything that will be on the resurrected abomination.
>Black woman
Its fricking over
>Rodney, did she just compare the Wu-Tang Clan to Chopin?
This is just the How I Met Your Mother set with tiny details changed. What the frick.
>During the George Floyd riots....
>Shut up, Auntie Albertqweena
Would frasier really take his prized african erotic art to a bar?
What's Dave doing in Frasier?
Where's Niles?
He died on the way to his home planet
Got into a dispute with Kelsey Grammer over how much cocaine they were allocated in the budget.
AIDS is a helluva drug
I'm guessing the explanation is going to be that they have a feud and haven't talked to each other in years.
He's in Peckham
David is one of those autistic theatre thespians that doesn't like to revisit roles. He even turned down Hellboy 2.
He's banned from TV after that trouser incident at the Emmys.
NOOOOOO FRICK NOOOOOOOOOO DELETE DELETE
cant wait for the series long arc seething about Trump
Grammer is an old school Republican, from back when they didn't let hill billies solely represent them.
And is also secretly racist after half his family was murdered by Black folk
You have the English language skills of a “hill billy.”
Frick. Yes.
You guys seem to get a lot of our old TV shows
Did anyone else hear it's a crime comedy? Is it going to be Frasier's Eleven, or just Only Fools & Horses with Frasier?
I can tell its going to suck already
is that the sign from Duke's?
*laugh track*
>No more comfy Seattle apartment
DOGSHIT
So they removed the only thing I liked about the show.
>Oh Good Lord
I have to assume this is Frasier's apartment
and this is Freddy's
The coffee shop looks comfy.
>coffee shop
>beers
Yeah I noticed that after I posted it. It doesn't really give me much of a bar feel, but whatever it's cool that their regular place of hangout is a bar.
I hope he's going to do the virgin walk from that piano
>no impossible skyline panorama
is boston that unaesthetic?
The skyline is nothing special but at street level it’s much more aesthetic than Seattle
>Frasier moves back to Seattle and gets a new apartment
>Martin dies and leaves his chair to Frasier in the will
>Martin's chair is stuck with Frasier forever
Would be a decent gag I reckon
*Moves back to Boston
based on seeing blacks in the promo shots i've already decided not to watch it unless there are scenes where Frasier is openly racist towards them
If it's in Boston will Sam 'Mayday' Malone make an appearance?
I was going to make a mean spirited post but I realized that Ted Danson is still good in the public eye (looking at you Boomer Cellular) so he could make a guest appearance.
shit I'm moronic, that was the actual Duke's logo
there was a beer sign in that episode though
Just had a massive shit lads
Oh for goodness sake, Niles
I thought he moved to Chicago in the finale
how many writers from the original Frasier are coming back? Niles and a bunch of the old crew not coming back is a setback, but getting the old writers back on board can fix a lot of that.
I'd say Hyde-Pearce not returning it reason not to even bother.
From peak Frasier (seasons 1-6)? Probably none. The series creator died in 9/11
The casting and the writing were too tier this new one will blow
>No "Frasier moves to Miami" reboot
>He doesn't become the psychiatrist for a number of criminals, saucy latina milfs, and other wacky characters

>Mini-map showing Vercetti Estate on Starfish Island
Boy, I really hope someone got fired for that blunder.
kino
There's something extremely pathetic about these studios bringing in decrepit old men to try and reprise roles that were popular decades ago.
It just won’t be the same without based Marty. He was the soul of the show.
In order of hilarity it went
1. Niles & Frasier
2. Marty
3. The rest
frasier get ipad
The Black Frasier cutaway gag caught me completely by surprise the first time I saw it lol
Also
>episodes that could absolutely 100% never be made today
>liberal black guy is against black men in drag for entertainment
So much has changed in 20 years
>So much has changed in 20 years
It truly hasn't. A couple thousand people in positions of power over television programming and magazine/news editing have forced their consensus on hundreds of millions.
>It was huge on BET, every Thursday night at about 9 or 9:15
Lmao
30 Rock had amazing episodes sadly the twitter outrage crowd wouldn't have it
when picrel first aired they called everybody who sid it's not okay to so black face and racist for trying to make these harmless comedy skits about race and 10 years later they got the episodes banned because they themselves said it was racist to so blackface
I dont get it
Reference to the common stereotype that black people are always late
>frasier is funny
id rather watch paint dry
im surprised they didnt make it into
>frasier becomes jordan peterstein
>frasier starts an alt right podcast and we laugh at the chuds
>frasier gets bested by sons strong independent black wife
Kelsey Grammer is a lifelong republican. Also he's above boring "current day" humor.
He is also one person compared to a WGA mandated team of writers producers and directors
it's over
What skyline is that?
Boston, I guess they didn’t want 50% of the cast to be pajeets so they had to move it from Seattle
>not a single one of the original cast except for Frasier himself
>particularly no Niles
>Freddy seems like some insufferable moron and the show seems centered around him
It's over already
>Fraiser is impotent
fraiser get ipad
>No DHP
>No Mahoney (sticky W H E N ?)
It's going to suck.
frasier is not frasier without dad, the whole show is about dad-son relations
It looks like they’re going for a role reversal where Frasier is now the old dad that doesn’t understand his son
>David Crane
So Niles and Daphne’s son will have a major part too? That’s interesting.
>So Niles and Daphne’s son will have a major part too? That’s interesting.
we've know this for months
Freddy dropped out of college to become a fireman.
>It looks like they’re going for a role reversal where Frasier is now the old dad that doesn’t understand his son
Yeah that exact premise worked out great for That 90's Show. Nu-Frasier is gonna rule!
Well this new show is all about Frasier repairing his relationship with Freddy so lucky you
I love Frasier, but this one doesn't seem a good idea with some characters dead/not coming back not to mention the writers went boom boom 21 years ago
Frasierbros I don't feel so good..
who are these people?
Quota #1, quota #2,…….
arguing daughter?
could be his niece, if Daphne's vision was right
Where the hell is Lilith
She's there for one episode confirmed.
We better fricking see Cheers if he's gone back to Boston.
Lilith should be a main character if they're placing it in Boston and making Freddy a central character
>Roz is only in 1 episode
Okay, so they're doing the cheers thing.
Relatively Black person free but those men look a little gay. If they're not too gay, I'll give it a watch.
>David Hyde Pierce
>Dan Butler
>kevin daniels
but that's steve, how can he be some other guy now?
>Frasier old and depressed
>Eddie died of old age
>Martin never recovered and died soon after
>Niles died of cancer
>Daphne moved back to Manchester after David finished school and hasn't seen him in years
>Roz has dementia and is only in episode 1 to say goodbye to Frasier before she goes back to Wisconsin to be taken care of by her family
what a sad thread, lets discuss best frasier ladies instead of whining how israelites israelited us again.
For me its Kate "dirty girl" Costas, the top milf of Cinemaphile - Television & Film
she had a sexy voice
still unbeaten
Sherry, Niles?
Is there a place with the original series online without having to subscribe to any service?
Zoomer leave
For me, its Bebe
She was really hot. Frasier tapped that.
Post your personal kino-est episodes
For me, it's
>the restaurant
>Niles dressed as Jesus while they're pretending to be israeli
>all of the performers Niles hired for his proposal who have to sneak out of his apartment after Daphne gets the flu, where Frasier fricking full body tackles the trumpeter in the background at the end
>Nanny G
>the radio play
>the restaurant
I don't know how they lived this down. How were their reputations not destroyed in Seattle high society?
It’s better to keep them in high society and have pressure points to keep them in line than to ostracize them and risk them going rogue
Frasier did so much insane shit publicly that the restaurant almost seems marginal by comparison
>shit-talked his own audience on-air
>fricked his station manager on-air
>accidentally encouraged a bunch of his listeners to go beat the shit out of people that bother them
>continually tracked down and harassed some guy and eventually inadvertently burned down his news stand all because he said that he didn't like him
>almost got arrested for murder at one of his dinner parties
>punched Santa in the face on live television
>accidentally said his brother should be executed
>threw a guy who everyone believed was crippled out of his wheelchair in front of a church
>nearly got a guy charged for murder because he and Niles forgot that they buried a fake skull under the floorboards of their childhood home
>delivered a prayer at a synagogue in Klingon
>let slip that he fricked his producer on-air and then mistakenly made it sound like it was prostitution
It feels like in-universe a lot of Frasier's fame would come from him being this insane unstable Kanye West-esque figure who people pay attention to because they want to see what crazy thing he'll do next
Don’t forget one of the worst:
>The people who know me best will not be surprised by what I’m about to tell you:
>I am not a man
Is this the most Fawlty Towers-esque episode of Frasier?
>Father murdered by black criminal
>Sister raped and killed by black criminals
>Both brothers die in accident
Kelsey Grammer is such a great actor and it's a shame is drug addiction prevented him from getting better roles
unironically me as soon as niles shows up
The FCU (Frasier Cinematic Universe) is saved
republicanbros… why won’t gay people work with us on things…
Reminder that every dynamic in the original show is dead on arrival
No niles, no sibling rivalry
No marty, no vicariously feeling snootier than your parents or more down to earth than your children
No eddy
No daphne, no secret unrequited love interest or dreaming about a piece of ass taking care of you when you are old
Frasier is older, probably no carrot on stick dating episodes
If they do any of this it'll feel forced and fall flat. They have do go into uncharted territory and you don't catch lightning in a bottle twice.
It's almost as if you've forgotten that not 18 years ago... I was punched in the face by a man, now dead.
Thank you!
Rodney Trotter is in it?
yes, you dipstick
I've always liked Frasier and I started rewatching it again
it's good, but really it's no Seinfeld
Sitcoms are for dumb people.
A perfect fit for you!
