i did too, it was good

It had mildly amusing moments but introduced far too many OCs where Gunn just pasted on costume (in the case of Vig or Judo Master as just two examples) or slapped on the DC character name.

If this was a fap fiction story, most people would have said it was entertaining but full of OCs who acted OOC as the Named Canon Characters they supposedly were.

It also featured way too much stupidity, like a criminal who was essential a hive mind, mind controlling alien But Wasn't Starro because Gunn had already wasted the Star Conqueror for the LOLZ in a craptastic reboot that no one watched until it was heavily pirated.

The comic versions are fine. They are safe. These are the movie versions. It isn't like GotG where Marvel changed the normal versions to the movie versions for muh synergy.

i'm not so mad that they died, just that the way they were killed was not by facing peacemaker and the squad. they build up 3 different groups of baddies that the team would have to overcome and back-pedaled on one of them. shit sucked

I'm not arguing it doesn't mostly work, just that it's weaker than it could be and spackled over by implicitly not liking the racis. Like [...] bringing up what is a problem; all his goons are there cuz racism but they go fight john cena on a "because reasons" tier justification. Show across the board is 7-9/10 but a lot of highs and lows are tied up in the Peacemaker-Dad plot.
The point I'm making is that it'd come off less good if they only had a troubled childhood + generational divide underpinning the same plot.
        >ur a traitor and stood up to me? Die!
it's just a bit thin when same facts, but without (ironically) the viewers prejudices against one of the characters.

i'm not understanding what you're trying to say. are you saying that the show is relying on your assumed hate for racists to root for john cena? if so then i disagree because every event that leads to their confrontarion and the stakes are on full display (from what i remember) the racisim is just a skin and

Him being racist was never anything more than a plot device to get all the whites in prison to follow him. He was first and foremost a hick piece of shit considering he ran a fight club using his fricking kids.

is wrong, that's not a plot device, since the racism wasn't a plotline. the point was that his dad has goons and now they're gonna fight the team.

Vigilante jumps him and disables his weapon and then Peacemaker gets his gun and shoots his dad after his dad calls him a pussy ass homosexual

"Troubled childhood" is a gross understatement there when the dad is raising child soldiers and hates the only surviving son for not being as good as the dead one. It's like saying that Bloodsport's dad wouldn't deserve to be opposed by his son on the grounds that he's maybe not a racist. Man still stuffed his kid in a crate full of hungry rats and gave him a phobia.

Correct, it's not a criticism. Read carefully, it's something I personally do not like. I don't need to explain it to you, the same way you don't need to explain why you love your wife or don't like to eat cauliflower. We're allowed to have opinions without writing an essay to defend them.
That said, I would like it if more stories with white supremacists showed their human side. Like Watchmen did a pretty good job. Sure the sheriff guy had a KKK dress, but he also loved his family, and he even had a couple of black friends. But then stringing him up to "punch nazis" in effigy was overdone torture porn.

    >hurr durr everybody have a 2nd chance to redeem themselves
    >except your dad hurr durr frick dem nazis they deserve no 2nd chance OK? Praise JIDF, goyim and worship this fat carpet licking bantu who just betrayed the main hero and forgiven literally an episode later
    >also here's some shitty and poorly paced action scenes in our grand and epic superhero action series hurr durr
At least Jennifer Holland is hot but Cinemaphilemblrtard have never been known to have good taste in any media.

he showed 0 interest in bettering himself, not even when Asian Judy Hopps gave 110% effort into getting his ass out of prison despite all the thing he said to her. his 2nd chance was getting out

Becuase at that point, he literally got fricked over by the very deep state he loathed so much and his son was already balls deep into working for them. Of course he isn't going to change if that's the outcome. I thought we were going to get a cool arc of his dad being sympathetic for his son and realizing that he's wrong in his treatment of Peacemaker as PM became more efficient later on but nope, "hurr durr le nazi le bad, can't have sympathetic neonazis but also le support le jidf black lesbian goyim and butterflies ayylmao". What a godawful joke of a writing.

The dad at no point showed regret or interest in changing unlike Peacemaker. The dad was a scumbag who made his own little kids fight each other for money and when one of them accidentally died he put all them blame on a surviving child and emotionally abuse him for years. And then tried to kill his son because he thought he ratted him to the cops.

His dad literally took care of him and his pet eagle, still made gadgets specifically for his son and didn't even try to kill him UNTIL the the team fricked him over. Your "hurr durr he tried dem fight club but boys" moronic excuse would be acceptable if the show also the shows the same fricking hatred for Waller (a literal genocidal b***h) and the aliens (one of them literally fought for the human side).

          >W-well he didn’t outright want to murder his own son previously!!!

Yeah that totally shows he wanted redemption, if you ignore the parts where he deliberately abused him physically and emotionally by making him murder people as a child, etc. All acts he never shows any regret towards. Same way he never disavows his bigoted white supremacist views. He “tolerated” Peacemaker’s existence due to muh bloodline reasons. And then immediately switched to wanting to murder him. He was never someone looking or deserving of redemption because he was always scum who never changed or thought he did anything wrong.

I knew Cinemaphilemblrtards aren't self aware but SubhanAllah, I didn't realize you were all THIS fricking unaware. The show literally has fricking Vigilante as his friend, a fricking bantu lesbian who was literally taught spec op shit by her genocidal mother and a blondie who doesn't think twice about killing innocent witness. A fricking neonazi Iron Man as a shitty parent is the least villainous shit ever.

Imagine spending this amount of energy doing whataboutism in order to defend a neo nazi who got his own child killed and then spent rest of his life blaming his other son while grooming him to become a sociopathic killer.

I think this problem boils down to the inconsistencies in Peacemaker as a character. This goes all the way back to him killing Flag in the movie. He knew Flag was a good man who would do anything for his country. Killing him wasn't about peace. It was about personal convenience. Same for his dad, but that conflict didn't land as well because daddy was a raciss and therefore had no redeeming qualities. Killing your own father should have more to it than killing a guy you've known for 1 black op.

The entire season is basically one long journey to accept his father was actually an abusive piece of shit who deserved to die rather than someone he had to asskiss all the time in vain attempt to get his dad to love and appreciate him.

DC has a megaverse where each of the 52 worlds is one of 52 worlds making 2,704 unique realities at least and that isn't even factoring in hypertime. And you're b***hing about inaccurate representation?

The comic versions are fine. They are safe. These are the movie versions. It isn't like GotG where Marvel changed the normal versions to the movie versions for muh synergy.

I appreciate that reading comprehensions can be severely lacking when you are on a deadline to make XXX points to get your college intern credit but that doesn't excuse this nonsense. Particularly where you are making up numbers.

In order to be inaccurate, the representation would have to have a basis in canon. On the other hand, Being "Out Of Character" is already defined for us and has a long history of these definition.

Don't just disagree to be contrary, girlfish. That only ones with really bad TV shows - and only one time. Do better.

Why do you get mad at the character rejecting redemption when you view the concept with disdain? You'd just call him a cuck if he stopped being a bigot.

I liked when they called out Superman for being a poop fetishist. It's always the dudes that put up the cleanest act who are the nastiest.

I thought Murn was just there because they couldn't afford to have Davis but his character was entertaining. Also helped that he was also prone to having some silly moments, himself.

It's funny because there's dumb capeshit when three people without superpowers take on a battalion of superpowered monsters and win. Because they know how to fight, I guess.

I know Gunn is wanting DC to try and make games that are canon to their cinematic universe (which I think is a mistake), but they really should just make an open-world, GTA-inspired Peacemaker and Vigilante game. You trawl around the backwoods and trashy shitholes of Charlton County, Washington and have a story involving the White Dragon and his klansmen, butterflies, and then a shitload of Z-list supervillain sidequests and bosses. Every so often, drop a new DLC pack with more side stories and goofy villains that would never get the chance to shine in live-action.
I dunno, I just wish there was something that combined the rural aspects of Red Dead with the comedy and modern weapons of GTA.

Did people not like Peace Maker? Wonder how many bloopers that intro got. They were clearly instructed not to have any facial expressions.

Vigilante was the best part of the show by far. Peacemaker was the best when it was the two of them throwing banter.

It might not be the absolute best cape show to ever exist
But it's definitely the one that feels more like a comic book arc, it's really fantastic how it nails that feeling.
