Never said I was miserable. I'm very happy being single with more money than I can spend, but my desire to have a 1950's style nuclear family isn't realistic only due to modern women not desiring that lifestyle. That's the only limitation. I can't "work on myself" enough to make women be who I want them to be. That's completely out of my control.
I'm not bitter or sad because of this, only disappointed in every woman I've been attracted to initially, and later decided they couldn't be what I was looking for.

This. A functional family unit can't exist without the traditional wife role. The man *must* provide for the wife and kids financially, and the wife *must* take care of the domestic tasks at home. The roles can't be reversed, because women carry pregnancies, and that would mean a loss of income, and low upward mobility in income from a female breadwinner. On top of that, women aren't attracted to "stay at home dad" types.
"Splitting responsibilities" isn't sustainable and doesn't exist long-term either. Think of a family like a corporation or business. Would a corporation be sustainable without separation of duties and skill specialization? Of course not. You will never find a sustainable and successful organization where everyone "splits responsiblities" so why would that work with a family, which is simply just a small organization?
