Maxwell Atoms worked on this show and so when he was developing Billy & Mandy he concluded a supernatural 3rd character would really improve things so he picked Grim thanks to The Red Guy.
Hate it all you want, but Feiss still won. Guy has a consistent job as a director/story artist for both Sony and Illumination and is directing his own movie this year.
He even still hangs out with Genndy Tartarkovsky and Van Partible after all these years.

I know, right? It's that fricking great a show!
It wasn't funny but the animation was better than Ren and Stimpy.
I found it funnier as a kid because it was paced better. John K. loves his fricking long awkward holds while C&C kept things moving.
The animation was a lot more inventive too see
The only time that ever worked was on Boo Boo Goes Wild. There the slow pacing matched the overall dramatic and creepy tone of the short
even John K. thinks so.

Yes and I know he was the character designer at the very least for Open Season but 3D just isn't as good for his wacky designs.
Mind you Feiss does travel to France to work with Illumination because the Spanish studio that did Klaus hired Americans to work on that film too.
However unless it's part of Feiss' France travels the Mario thing is shopped.
Still better than steven universe.
