Another "of its time film" it baffles me that zoomers find anything in so far is it now from its original context as a satire of Reaganomics.
Not condemning Reaganism, we used to have satire that just made fun of things without necessarily taking a strong binary position on them. Another concept that drives the youth today insane.
>so far is it now from its original context as a satire of Reaganomics
The reason it persists is because it had charm and comfiness that remained after the satire was no longer relevant. A lot of great movies were satires or commentaries that lived on because they were well made enough to exist without that component.
I'm sure you're right, I just find the afterlife of this stuff weird. Its like time has frozen. People who saw it when it came out in 1984 weren't arguing with their friends about Bing Crosby movies.
I don't really think these "franchises" can bear the weight put on them, they were barely written with the expectation of a VHS release.
>I don't really think these "franchises" can bear the weight put on them
Well, that part is true. These were meant as fun films to be shown at theatres and then live in video rental and HBO land if they did well. The big thing to remember is that these actors, writers, and directors were shitting out 2 and 3 films a year. It's a grim condemnation of today's arrogant, lazy film makers that take 4 years to make a movie which is instantly forgotten when these movies that were made in 4 months are fondly remembered for generations.
Bullshit. I’ve seen shit that’ll turn you WHITE!
This made the theater lagh,I was to young to get it.
neither are you
shes so hot bros, I wish she had a skitzo themed onlyfans
bullshit. i live in kentucky and i can assure you this place is haunted by spooky sheet wearing ghosts. they even set stuff on fire like crosses
Why do the arsonist ghosts hate Jesus?
Ghosts don't exist. Neither does bigfoot.
What about aliens? Or mummies?
They’re all real. Especially mummies. You can clearly see them displayed in museums everywhere.
AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mummies are real, dads are pure fiction.
t.chicago native.
>dads are pure fiction
Were you a test tube baby or something?
>Neither does bigfoot
LIAR.
>that one scene where Bill slaps Haley Joel Osment for being a lying little shit about seeing dead people
How did they get away with it?
they're like imaginary numbers
But it should be said
Why did people want a 3rd when the 2nd was so disappointing
Ahh, c’mon. It wasn’t that bad. I mean, it wasn’t good either, but better than, uh, Toxic Avenger
Technically the ghosts in Ghostbusters aren't really "ghosts", they're extradimensional entities and when someone dies they become one too.
how is that different
"Ghosts" in Ghostbusters don't have to be the spirits of the deceased as in actual ghosts, they can come from other dimensions.
>Technically they aren't ghosts, they are just dead people that become ghosts.
Oh.
Yes, it is true. OP has no dick.
no but gays are
