>"I'd play that character with force, grace, and calm. I see him as someone who controls the chaos, but someone who also has the ability to uplift and inspire."

Poor dude is desperate to not have to play a villain in the MCU as well.
>desperate to not have to play a villain in the MCU
Shouldn't he be desperate to play an adward winner role instead of to play capeshit? and the actor who plays Professor X shouldn't be in his 70s if they want him >5 years.
>Shouldn't he be desperate to play an adward winner role
He already did in BB/BCS
>He already did in BB/BCS
Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards
Critics' Choice Television Awards
AND in The Usual Suspects
National Board of Review
that's all he has won.
That's quite a bit.
still no a Tony an Emmy or an Oscar.
He's only 64
how old will be when they star filming, movie isn't even in preproduction.
>only
So he is already near death when the film is release and dead once the sequel has been approved.
>nigwashing
no, thanks.
Does him being white really matter?
Xavier's other power besides his psychic abilities is his rich white man privilege that further shields him from the oppression other mutants face.
Honestly, that’s a really good take that would play well if they want to explore Xavier’s darker tendencies. After Patrick Stewart’s saint-like depiction, maybe we need a more true to comics Xavier
>does a character's look from the source material matter?
Is it to much to ask that the skin tone stays the same?
I always love this question too.
White skin doesn't matter but black skin sure as shit does lmao
The character is white, so yes.
ofc, and not israeli too because Magneto.
>racechange
dropped.
You know, I actually don't mind race change this time
Honestly, I don't care for the Xavier change and am glad he's finally playing a morally good character but that description on how he'd play him is the same exact way he's played other characters.
Has he actually ever played a role that isn't a villain?
He was the leader of the good guy resistance in those Maze Runner films.
I saw him a month ago in a random serie b movie from the 80s with Rutger Hauer or Dolph Lundgren can't remember, cool movie.
He was a good guy on A Different World, The Usual Suspects, Homicide Life On the Street, and some other shows/movies. Possibly also in that frat themed Spike Lee movie he did in the late 80s if you take the stance that women are inherently evil bawds and his behavior towards his girlfriend (having her frick a pledge) was him testing her loyalty and that him dumping her in front of the frat/calling her a worthless prostitute in front of everyone came out of his frustration towards said woman not caring about him and herself enough to stand up to him and refusing to frick said pledge.
Night on Earth
poor guy is getting typecast as Gus Fring for the rest of his life
N

it sucks that Xavier is one of the few characters who should be white. bc he has all that privilege even as a mutant and yadda yadda i'm lazy and don't wanna go into it
just figure the shitfest with Magneto, Slavery vs Holocaust.
I think this is fantastic casting.
I just want them to also keep Magneto's holocaust origin intact by simply explaining that his powers also make him age slow for some reason. But that way Magneto can be physically older, but LOOK younger than Charles. Cast someone like Joaquin Phoenix as Magneto (he's israeli iirc).
It'd be an interesting dynamic. They become friends when Charles is a young adult and Magneto's already near middle aged. Magneto both admires Charles youthful hopefulness and positivity but is already far too jaded.
In the current times it'd be fun to see a young look Magneto commenting on how "childish" he still sees Charles, despite Charles being the one who's wrinkled and gray.
