It's all in the subtlety. It doesn't ring with everyone but basically you notice little quirks and things the characters have when they interact with each other and it's satisfying to see those things happen.
Just a random example: Bubble's really hates the fact that randy doesn't wear a shirt. This is never spoken by anybody, not bubbles himself or anybody else. It's never explicitly stated, but once ever few episodes he throws in a jab at "idiots with no frickin' shirts on going camping!" and it's just funny.
Don't think about the plot or story at all because it's usually nothing really, just observe the characters and take note of how they talk and what annoys them and you'll laugh.
The show isn't for everyone, if you don't like it you don't like it.

This. It's like a wildlife documentary. And the wildlife is Nova Scotian trailer trash.

My favorite running thing is Julien's drink. The later Netflix seasons aren't great, but it had moments. Particularly Julien climbing out of a car crash with his full drink, and him having his drink taken away but his arm is still stuck like that.

Letterkenny at least has jokes and some good one liners. I got sick of Letterkenny after one season but can't watch trailer park boys

Letterkenny is shit and the only people I’ve ever known who like it are Americans and city-dwelling liberal homosexuals. Am Canadian btw.

      >Trailer Park Boys has consistent story that's present during each season
      >TPB has consistent bits that continue through the entire series run
      >TPB has iffy writing at some points, stuff that's just cut and never spoken of, and issues with requiring either enjoyment of stupid humor or the misfortune of having experiences living around people like the characters
      >Letterkenny has some of the best jokes/one-liners/banter written without feeling too overdone
      >Letterkenny has little to no overarching plot per season, adopts a Seinfeld-esque approach to making each episode somewhat of an extended bit with some story mixed in
      >Letterkenny has mild writing that Shoresy did better and has more relatable country/rural characters that most people can associate with
Both of these shows are decent.

Beloved and acclaimed Canadian actress Sarah Gadon appears as the reoccurring character Gae in the comedic series Letterkenny. She is quite delightful in it.

Really, you should just commit to watching one whole season because they all have the same general premise. The season starts with them coming out of prison and ends with them going back in. Try season 2 or 3 idk. You are missing out on pure comedy kino, though.

The hockey team from S2 was their best bit and they replaced them in S3 with two gay gym dudes doing the same schitck because it was cheaper than paying 5 actors.

A crossover could never work, because it would end with either Wayne whooping Cyrus's ass, Wayne whooping Jim+Randy's asses, or Wayne whooping the TPB's asses(except Bubbles, because Wayne respects good boys until Daryl whoops his ass for allegedly mocking his inability to pronounce certain words). Either way, Wayne is whooping someone's ass in slow motion to some Drake ripoff. This is why Jared Keeso is not allowed to spearhead any media other than his own.

i find the first 7? seasons hilarious for most of it besides one bad episode every season but the format or connected storylines makes it very unrewatchable for me, i could do Always Sunny, Curb, Seinfeld, Frasier, all day but I have to watch TPB like once every 2 or 3 years

It's dumb humor. It's not supposed to have structured jokes. The characters are the jokes. It's written better than most hollywood sitcoms, and that's saying something because they had almost no experience with film when they started the show.

I've watched s1-8 like 3 times and the first few movies.
After the revival I saw up to the season with Snoop dogg in it but it felt soulless.
Are the newer seasons/eurotrip any good?

There are no structured jokes so it doesn't appeal to most people. It's funny the same way hanging out with your stupid friends in real life is funny. You don't laugh because they told you a joke, you laught because they did or said something stupid.

Julian crawling out of a rolled over car still holding his rum and coke cracked me up more than any structured joke.

For me? It's Ricky throwing shit around, making a lot of noise while doing so. Don't know why it cracks me up so much. The episode he "confiscates" J-Rock's washing machine is probably my favorite just for that scene alone.

The premise of the show had never existed before on television. This was the height and waning years of the outbreak of reality tv. Cops, American Idol, Survivor, Fear Factor, Real World, The Osbourne's; these were all the rage. "Unscripted" television gonzo television shows where a camera crew was inserted into day to day lives or intense scenarios and we watched it play out in front of our eyes. A show without writers, in a sense.

This show lampooned that time of tv by turning it on its head by making it 'COPS from the criminals perspective.' It was stylized to be around the notion of following criminals around with a camera crew instead of officers and its setting was the authentic trailer park slums of Nova Scotia. Think of it more like a cartoon and the characters are just that, CHAR-ACT-ERS, y'know? Its also a lot in the fine details you pick up on from multiple viewings of the show once, the small subtleties of the characters and universe (Julian not spilling a drink after a car roll over, the Rickyism's, cats everywhere) The improvisational talent and chemistry of the lead characters, the emotional anchoring of the show with the melodramatic moments, and how you aren't even 10 minutes in before something insane is happening on screen like a fight or gunshots before cutting to the juxtaposing tranquil lullaby themesong, Seasons 1-7 are the shows peak when it was new and fresh. The Clattenburg seasons are the essence of what made the show a hit in the first place.

Ricky's last name is LaFleur, Cyrus most definitely is French Canadian, J-Roc talks black, Bubbles grunts; the show is very multilingual.

    >Holy frick how does anyone find this funny

The low as frick stakes in all of their plots is what makes it funny to me. Its always like a few thousand dollars never anything massive. Its the lowest pettiest stupidest crime that they still somehow manage to frick up.

      Anonymous

another major component of the humor is the now almost lost traditional Canadian sense of good-natured camaraderie that pervades among all the chaos
like earnestly pausing a gunfight because someone got shot

      >Its always like a few thousand dollars never anything massive
Lol, love how they refer to "theft over a thousand" like it's the heaviest shit ever
