It just amazes me that he can watch this shit as he's filming it, see all these dailies with worse acting than In Living Color, and be satisfied with what he's doing.
Often think about the point where a director must realize they are shooting shit, and that it is too late to turn it around. It has to happen, especially on smaller budget films like this that can't afford to recast and reshoot.
I guarantee that we think is shit in this case, he personally thought it was kino. I could see what he was going for. He was trying to make it as authentic to the original series as possible with all the cheesy jokes and effects. The problem is that there is no plot, the jokes aren't funny, and the entire movie is miscast.
I do however appreciate that it has soul and I enjoy the bright colors and spirit halloween decorations.
>he could barely manage to sing / mumble every other word
He's always been like this. Look up live performances from 2005, he couldn't sing a verse without losing his breath.
Zombie's music shines in the studio only. He puts out unpretentious groovy, and surprisingly eclectic industrial rock, and has been getting better by the record ever since Venomous Rat.
I'll give him this; he at least did something different with this movie other than his typical white trash shit. Unfortunately a white trash Munsters probably would have been more entertaining than RZ failing miserably at writing family friendly cheesy jokes.
Also, frick Sherri Moon. I don't care that he has to put her in all of his movies, but she always has to be front and center no matter how badly she's miscast in the role. For his last several movies he's forced her haggard ass in to roles that should have went to actresses in their 20s, and its unintentionally hilarious.
Lilly is supposed to be young in this but she looks older than the woman who played her originally.
Living Dead Girl is a great song and the only instance I can find where someone uses that term as a slang for heroin girls. We used to call them that back in the day.
Everyone did a pretty good job especially Grandpa, except zombies awful wife. She was just a talent black hole sucking the life from every scene she was in.
>She was just a talent black hole sucking the life from every scene she was in.
That's every Rob Zombie movie. I get that she wanted to be an actress, so he cast her in things, but you think she would've given it up by now.
House is my favourite film of all time it’s raw aesthetic and novice colorshots are so soulful but unfortunately he learned how to ‘ make a movie’ and now I fear the magic is gone. To his credit this is a reasonable homage I will hold judgment till his next oc
This was a terrible movie but I dunno I kinda enjoyed watching it. Not to excuse being moronic on purpose. There was literally no conflict in the plot, but, the kitschy sets and costumes were nice. At least it had a vision I suppose.
I don't know if I should love or hate Rob Zombie. On one hand he's a talentless hack. He's a horrible singer whose music is completely carried by his guitar players catchy riffs. As a film maker he's never made anything original in his entire life and writes the worst dialogue I've ever heard. His reliance on brutal realistic gore got old 15 years ago.
But despite this, he has managed to be massively successful and I have to respect that. It's sort of inspiring that such a talentless shitter can become so famous.
so a Rob Zombie film?
I really liked it. It's good if you liked the old show. But I can definitely see why nihilist zoomers would hate it.
I liked the show and hated it.
>I really liked it. It's good if you liked the old show.
I watched 10 minutes, then looked up the old clip from the time his wife got her breasts out, and that's really more than enough.
It's just baffling to me how much he sucks. He's gotten so much worse at making movies it's odd. Every one is worse than the one before.
He's old as shit and way past his prime. I saw him live last year and he could barely manage to sing / mumble every other word
>I saw him live last year
Lose weight.
>57 years old

Sheri's like 10 years older now than the actor who played Grandpa Munster was when he was cast on the show.
that's a funny tweet, it fits perfectly to feel so numb
Didn't ask.
Everyone did a pretty good job especially Grandpa, except zombies awful wife. She was just a talent black hole sucking the life from every scene she was in.
When her looks went her acting became clearer.

i didn't think the trailer looked as bad as everyone said. it definitely had dogshit sound but i liked the garrish colors and the sets
does Dragula play during the movie at any point?
Yes it's actually playing at all times on a loop

There are some guys like that who just grind away at become successful despite having no particular talent. Joe Rogan. Henry Rollins.
I bet Rob Zombie has an amazing Funko pop collection
