I was enjoying the first 2 seasons but at some point just had to stop. I saw every plot cycle played out over and over and just gave up, frick I hated deepthroat and black deepthroat >I showed up to tell you I can't tell you anything
what a hack piece of shit show
Everyone says season 6. Which is bullshit. There’s a lot fun episodes. Season 7 is hit and miss but for some good ones like X Cops. Season 8-9 get a lot shit but they’re better than Nu Files revival 10-11, which just awful
for me, season 6 is just when the mythos goes completely off the deep end pants on head moronic with the crashed UFO and the "aliens created humans!" story line that was garbage and didnt seem to go anywhere anyway
As someone who is going through a rewatch and is on season 6 and loves Scully's armpits
Seasons 2-5 are peak 90s media but you should just watch up to season 7 anyways
Mythos episodes feel like the slow down the show though not that I would want it to be entirely slice of life
some episodes she's a straight firebrand but other episodes she's like an extra in The Office. i guess it's just a writer/director thing but she's really fricking hot when she they let her be hot
>Drive
Indeed. That episode named the israelite.
lol yea it's especially funny considering FOX at the time let those jokes fly lmao
Oh here's a good one from S4E15 - Kaddish.
From wikipedia: >"Kaddish" was written by Gordon due to his fascination with the legend of the Golem from the Kabbalah. Originally, the script called for the antagonist to be an African American "Louis Farrakhan-like" character, but Fox was concerned that the show's increasing popularity with black viewers would be damaged by this, and Gordon agreed to make the villains into, in his words, "cartoonish neo-Nazis"
6-7 are where the "main" story arc goes full moron jump the shark but you'll occasionally get some good episodes and some good monster of the week stuff
It gets so fricking moronic it beggars belief. Like when Mulder touched a spicy rock and became the Kwisatz Haderach and Scully got harassed by a ghostly homie while digging up an African UFO with verses from the Bible and Koran written on for reasons. I also like how they completely fricking forgot the black oil shit makes badass chestbursting warrior aliens after the movie and the episode immediately following it.
the sister's fate reveal episode was so moronic I quit watching and didn't go back for few years >she lived but she just vanished with a bunch of nice ayys but not the kind of evil ayys trying to colonize us
jesus christ what were they smoking?
they were called star something, star travelers? so my assumption was ayys
but you're right because it was basically magic in execution and the description of where she went felt more like an afterlife than a proper place
still by far the most baffling decision in a franchise chock full of them, given how huge finding her was to mulder in the early seasons then that was their resolution in some mid season slop

two separate variations actually, the adult ones who are involved in like 2 or 3 episodes and the child ones who were in 1 episode and maybe the first film? they were mutes at that canadian ayy farm for sure.
but after so many headfakes for that to be the final resolution for the original samantha is crazy
it was an urban legend to explain the fate of missing people i think.
Basically a nice way of saying they were spared grisly death by moon/star light fairies

it was dumber than that, they attempted to cross the paranormal and scifi arcs.
She was saved by fairies
I love the arc resolution, where Mulder gets willingly abducted along other people, in a meet-up in the middle of night, deep in the forest, by aliums.
Then, he gets returned and found apparently dead. There's a funeral and all that jazz, I think that's the part where Scully is paired with another agent. Then, they find out that abducted people who were found dead, actually revive on their own, perfectly fine, so they scramble to dig him up. Indeed, he's found to be alive but it also happens that he's a human-alien hybrid now. Man, what a ride.
Black oil was cool as a concept of a liquid lifeform, but they went full moron when it was revealed that people infected with black oil look for a very warm place, typically their homes where they set the heating to the max, sit down and after a short time a fricking grey alien bursts out of their ribcage. Even as a kid I was like "wut?"
And let us not forget a whole faction of aliens who is apparently in conflict with the Colonizer faction and they get jumped by faceless dudes with flametorches. Cmon...
>that people infected with black oil look for a very warm place, typically their homes where they set the heating to the max, sit down and after a short time a fricking grey alien bursts out of their ribcage
I mean it's not that much of a stretch, if the oil is "alive" it can do whatever it wants. Including making an alien babby inside some government drone. >whole faction of aliens who is apparently in conflict with the Colonizer faction and they get jumped by faceless dudes with flametorches
The guys with the torches are the alien rebels. They're the same ones that cloned mulders sister and the doctor gregor guy. Jeremiah Smith was also in cahoots with them. That's why they body one of the alien bounty hunters, can't recall which episode that was.
the oil infects people and creates a clawed feral alien.
The feral alien then finds a heat sources and hatches into a little ayy lmao
That can be easily beat with a baseball bat.

i dropped it when the t1000 actor was introduced that might be around season 7
well i still plan to finish it but that's where my interest died a year ago
Guy is so fricking boring, Mulder was amazing. This is why I also stopped for the time being early season 8. And there's only been one good ep so far, that guy jumping back in time.
He's a cuck who gets killed in one ep and then eaten by some guy who has the ability to transfer diseases from other people to himself. The guy digs a human-shaped ditch and pukes his now fluid remains into the form. T-1000 awakens naked in said form and finds out the man puker dead. It's because he absorbed his death, setting himself free from being used by the locals as a doctor.
Imagine getting eaten and then turned into puke by some dude. It's level of cuckery not even thought possible.
the first 2-3 are peak comfy but you can watch until season 5 and finish with the movie
then only watch MOTW episodes (google a guide if you only wanna watch "the best")
it doesn't really overall shit the bed until season 7 when duchovny gets reduced to a cameo and the chemistry of scully/mulder is gone and couldn't be reproduced with the new guys.but there are certain elements of the main plot, the so-called mytharc that gets increasingly moronic as the seasons go on. established plot lines begin to get reinterpretated/rewritten, absolutely silly stuff gets established and the mystery that was built-up by the conspiratorial tone of the earlier seasons becomes a buffy-tier clown show, in a mediocre/bad way that finally ends in the middle of season 6. it becomes rather obvious they ran out of ideas after that since they didn't manage to write the same compelling idea as the of the original alien/glowie conspiracy which they milked for years with their mystery-box writing, leading to the quality drop past S6.
that said, the monster of the week episodes are really good throughout all 9 seasons and even the mytharc episodes can be extremely kino if you brush aside the moronic overarching lore.
other might've mentioned already - don't bother with even thinking about watching anything past S9
>entire series is Mulder being sent on a goose chase tracking down paranormal hoaxes (that turn out to be all real) just to distract him from the government conspiracy, even though hes looking for aliens (which are real(but hes told its made up by the government))
So it’s pretty much “This guy’s so autistic he might take us down. Better distract him with aliens”?
Now the feds just convince autistic men to shop their dicks off or shoot up a school during an election year.
the plot was that Mulder was like Neo in the Matrix he was really well connected in the underground conspiracy theorist network. He'd be seen as a martyr and it'd vindicate his theories exposing them. Also his dad is one of the bad guys
"Kill him? No. It is honestly funnier to me to watch him live and continue on his little goose chase with the chickens we keep on throwing at him. I mean, my God, the man discovered a human sized Flukeworm infesting New Jersey! You want to kill him? This is the most entertaining shit I've seen since I cancelled my subscription to HBO!"
more like >we've got real genuine glowie conspiracy with aliens >keep mulder on random moronic unusual cases so he's not on our stuff/we can track when he realizes something or we frick up
why not just kill him?
they kill hundreds of other people getting in their way
initial idea was he was well connected and would be seen as a martyr, then they added the wrinkle that his dad was an ex member (and then that the head conspiracy guy the smoking man was his biological dad)
i forget but i think there was a secret ulterior motive to him being sent everywhere, He was basically being helped to gather evidence.
Can't remember if that was the implied twist but it might have been implied in the native american episode
in season 1 deep throat would deliberately hint or steer him towards certain cases that were somehow related to the conspiracy
though some cases he just genuinely stumbled upon/aren't related to the conspiracy at all
>CSM: Mulder, I am your father! >Mulder: no! >*gets abducted by glowies for an operation anyway since CSM needs his stem cells or something for his disease*
The best part of the entire series was when it turned out that Moulder's sister was actually kidnapped and killed by a serial child molester. Pizzagate? Nah! Take your meds, schizo!
She was NEVER abducted by aliens and the notion was planted in Moulder's mind by a hypnotic suggestion during a regression session which literally drove him insane.
>Season 7: Episode 11 'Closure'
The entire series is a waste of time because it goes nowhere.
Naw that's the Streiber nonsense, Communion. He couldnt hack it as a scifi writer, so he repackaged it for the coast to coast folks and they ate it up.
>While serving as executive producer, author Whitley Strieber, whose experiences serve as the basis of the film, expressed concerns about Christopher Walken's abilities in portraying him. When Strieber finally told Walken that he might be portraying him as a little too crazy, Walken replied, "If the shoe fits."
season 1-4 is pure kino. the rest is shit or piss.
& it's not that the rest of it is bad, it's just that you can tell the writers are just there to make the whole show a parody of itself. it's a bit ridiculous at some points but there's still good humor in it. >like It reaches that point where there's just writers who want to make a silly episode for filler and then it's sprinkled with lore important episodes that makes it pay off.
'Drive' is one of the really good ones for when you get to season 6. I also like the smallpox bee episodes lol.
The Day The Earth Stood Still was also a really good one. I grew up watching the Space network in the early 00's and I got a lot of classics and TOS Star Trek after school. Still to this day, even after watching TNG, I can't put it above TOS.
X-Files was ruined by "mutant of the week" episodes. I get there were budget reasons, but it's so boring for most of the episode just ending up as "police procedural but with a mutant". There are far better ways to do it, like with Folie à Deux.
Well I won't disagree that some Monster of the Week episodes were duds, but I can't agree with you that the show was ruined by the format of perhaps 60% of episodes they had been running since season 1.
X Files was suppose to be mutant of the week. There wasn’t suppose to be over arching myth. CSM was only suppose to be in one episode. Same with Deep Throat, Lone Gunman, Skinner. Writers went on early message boards saw that fans liked them so they brought them
back. Whole mythology was created because Anderson got pregnant mid season and needed close X Files and separate the two the second season when she’d be a balloon. And alien abduction so could leave show temporarily
Emphasis on MUTANT of the week, not monster of the week. When your monster of the week is just some regular dude who has lightning powers, there's no fricking mystery.
>some regular dude who has lightning powers, there's no fricking mystery.

I knew when I was going through that season that something was up with Andersen and they had to scramble to write her off for a few months. I figured she was filming a movie. But pregnancy fits too. Anyway I hated that arc because the banter between M&S was the heart of the show! You can’t have a sandwich with just peanut butter. You need the jelly to balance it.

Way it was planned, Anderson was to come back after end of abduction episode. But she needed more time after giving birth so scrambled to write “3.” It’s underrated episode. Shippers hate it obviously. I like it because reminds me of DD Red Shoe Diary Days
Even though he’s a massive cuck, Kumail Nanjiani X Files podcast he did is a must if your a fan. He has all main writers on the show who basically said pulled myth out of their ass because Anderson got pregnant. He also reads from posts form original X Files message boards.
to a degree i believe that the industry just goes so far in to an analogy that they accidentally make something good
i mean, look at american history x. when i was 9 years old and i saw that, do you think i was contemplating the impacts of racism and political ideology with regards to family structure? >frick no
I was thinking: >frick yea stomp that fricking Black person head in
My point is, the industry some times go so far in to an analogy that they accidentally make something good once in a while.
>Mulder finds out about the ultimate truth that the day of Alien invasion is year 2012 >he loses all hope and motivation
This felt so out of place and moronic.
The overarching narrative of the entire series is that Mulder is fricking moronic and also his own worst enemy. Ronald Pakula and CGB Spender both tried to use him to tell the world the truth, and Mulder fricked it all up on numerous occasions.
why do people downplay the myth arc or as i call it the conspiracy. Its the best part of the show.
It was so good they had to neuter it, out of fear people were taking it seriously. Thats why they raped the show with back to back comedy episodes.
as is the fate of many shows the failure to stick the landing (or in x files case the absolute mess the plot became in later seasons and the abortion known as the revival) retroactively makes people skittish about the whole thing. which is a shame because as you said the early stuff is outright kino, and people need to learn to just enjoy the ride and get off at the right time
It's really the joke episodes that ruined, they did the sane thing in Millennium.
Millennium started off as the darkest show on tv ever. Then you can tell the exact episode it took a nose dove off a cliff in the second season.
The offending episode actually starts off somewhat serious and dark then slowly evolves into comedy and self depreciating humour by the writer inserting himself in the ep. Its nuts.
Even though theres a few good eps sprinkled into Millenium in its three seasons
CSM wasn’t in Squeeze either. He was in the pilot with no lines. Didn’t show up again until Tooms which introduced Skinner. First episode he had line at the end. He than showed up at season final. I don’t think he was even referee to by name until season 2
>Essentially re-create the Oklahoma City bombing in your movie >It looks so eerily similar that reviewers warn people who lost friends or relatives in the attack about it >Also frame it as a government false flag to cover up evidence of alien activity >Release it barely 3 years after the actual bombing
It was a different time. You'd get flayed alive for doing something like that now.
>has the guy in it that plays an alien shapeshifter and was also FBI in Millenium
I never noticed this the first time i watched xfiles but when i rewatched it. its amazing how many actors are used over and over.
X Files re-used cast all the time. I guess wasn’t a lot Canadian actors to use. Shit, Terry O'Quinn played three separate characters on the show. He was briefly in the movie. He’s FBI guy just sits there and lets the bomb blow up. Pretty sure got cast for Lost because of his X Files ties
Terry O'Quinn plays the FBI dude who gets blown up by the bomb in the movie. He also plays 2 other characters throughout the series. Not just background roles either. He's a sheriff at the center of one episode and a super soldier in a later one.
Are you some idiot zoomer and don’t understand pre streaming format? Shows ran 23 episodes a season. Every show
was a stand alone episode. Why? Because if you missed a episode back than you’re fricked. Not going to see it again until a rerun
You’re calling it filler episodes because they don’t apply to the “main narrative.” There wasn’t suppose to be a main narrative. Every TV show in ‘93 was stand alone episodes. Biggest sci fi show, Star Trek The Next Generation was almost all stand alone episodes. Only over arching plot you had was The Borge and season cliffhangers. Networks wanted this because didn’t want people who missed a episode to leave the show because wouldn’t know what was going on. TVO and DVRs were the game changers for that
theres clearly a main narrative arc you lying dipshit. Frick off with your actual revisionism.
Xfiles isn't all stand alone episodes. Theres a main story arc that is filled out by monster of the week episodes.
You’re idiot zoomer. The “main arc” they pulled out of their ass because the main actress, Anderson, got pregnant in season 1. They’ve even said this. Why the “main narrative” is ass. It’s so contrived because making it up as they went

When he got his UFO flying license, he instantly traveled to Earth, chose his disguise to be a Black and became a superior baseball player due to his extraterrestrial skills. Finally, alien immigration police officer shows up telling him to GO BACK or he's kill. >but after so many headfakes for that to be the final resolution for the original samantha is crazy
No arguement here.
it was an urban legend to explain the fate of missing people i think.
Basically a nice way of saying they were spared grisly death by moon/star light fairies
i actually liked that episode.
What a DUMB species
That's just one of its features. Also show me the scene where somebody beats it with a baseball bat. Also show me on the doll where the ayyliums touched you.
thats the thing the little frickers turn into the little ayys then they touch you everywhere, also they got mind control powers
There's no mind control powers
there is some sort of control
it's bad as early as episode 5 but everyone has their own opinion since bad but watchable and bad enough to drop are such wildly varying things
i dropped it when the t1000 actor was introduced that might be around season 7
well i still plan to finish it but that's where my interest died a year ago
But if you do that, then you'll miss the most kino doggett era episode
they should have turned him into a super soldier for maximum irony
Guy is so fricking boring, Mulder was amazing. This is why I also stopped for the time being early season 8. And there's only been one good ep so far, that guy jumping back in time.
I think 7, whichever one where Mulder gets replaced with another guy is when I dropped it.
even if that guy is the T-1000?
He's a cuck who gets killed in one ep and then eaten by some guy who has the ability to transfer diseases from other people to himself. The guy digs a human-shaped ditch and pukes his now fluid remains into the form. T-1000 awakens naked in said form and finds out the man puker dead. It's because he absorbed his death, setting himself free from being used by the locals as a doctor.
Imagine getting eaten and then turned into puke by some dude. It's level of cuckery not even thought possible.
When fox’s hair is short the show sucks
When it’s long it’s good
the first 2-3 are peak comfy but you can watch until season 5 and finish with the movie
then only watch MOTW episodes (google a guide if you only wanna watch "the best")
Thing is the story doesn't finish with the movie but One Son. The movie sets up the ending in the next season.
the movie after season 5 is a good enough ending for me when I do my rewatch
also what happened to Reggie?
it doesn't really overall shit the bed until season 7 when duchovny gets reduced to a cameo and the chemistry of scully/mulder is gone and couldn't be reproduced with the new guys.but there are certain elements of the main plot, the so-called mytharc that gets increasingly moronic as the seasons go on. established plot lines begin to get reinterpretated/rewritten, absolutely silly stuff gets established and the mystery that was built-up by the conspiratorial tone of the earlier seasons becomes a buffy-tier clown show, in a mediocre/bad way that finally ends in the middle of season 6. it becomes rather obvious they ran out of ideas after that since they didn't manage to write the same compelling idea as the of the original alien/glowie conspiracy which they milked for years with their mystery-box writing, leading to the quality drop past S6.
that said, the monster of the week episodes are really good throughout all 9 seasons and even the mytharc episodes can be extremely kino if you brush aside the moronic overarching lore.
other might've mentioned already - don't bother with even thinking about watching anything past S9
>until season 7
season 8 more like, season 7 is when it becomes noticeable it's going downhill
the truth is every episode is good, as long is Scully is in it
>is...is that..PARANORMAL ACTIVITY?? AIEEEEEE SAVE ME SKINNERMAN!
>entire series is Mulder being sent on a goose chase tracking down paranormal hoaxes (that turn out to be all real) just to distract him from the government conspiracy, even though hes looking for aliens (which are real(but hes told its made up by the government))
So it’s pretty much “This guy’s so autistic he might take us down. Better distract him with aliens”?
Now the feds just convince autistic men to shop their dicks off or shoot up a school during an election year.
exactly, entire Xfiles was set up specifically to waste Mulders time because he could potentially take them down.
why not just kill him?
they kill hundreds of other people getting in their way
He would become a "martyr". That's what they kept saying
the plot was that Mulder was like Neo in the Matrix he was really well connected in the underground conspiracy theorist network. He'd be seen as a martyr and it'd vindicate his theories exposing them. Also his dad is one of the bad guys
It's simple, we uhh.. Kill the Mulder.
if you think about it they kinda were by sending him to chase man eating hobgoblins
they were entertained by his handsomeness
To quote CSM (who I am certainly not)
"Kill him? No. It is honestly funnier to me to watch him live and continue on his little goose chase with the chickens we keep on throwing at him. I mean, my God, the man discovered a human sized Flukeworm infesting New Jersey! You want to kill him? This is the most entertaining shit I've seen since I cancelled my subscription to HBO!"
more like
>we've got real genuine glowie conspiracy with aliens
>keep mulder on random moronic unusual cases so he's not on our stuff/we can track when he realizes something or we frick up
initial idea was he was well connected and would be seen as a martyr, then they added the wrinkle that his dad was an ex member (and then that the head conspiracy guy the smoking man was his biological dad)
i forget but i think there was a secret ulterior motive to him being sent everywhere, He was basically being helped to gather evidence.
Prophecy?
Naw that's the Streiber nonsense, Communion. He couldnt hack it as a scifi writer, so he repackaged it for the coast to coast folks and they ate it up.
HAIL CHUD BLUSKI
Dune 2 is off topic
>While serving as executive producer, author Whitley Strieber, whose experiences serve as the basis of the film, expressed concerns about Christopher Walken's abilities in portraying him. When Strieber finally told Walken that he might be portraying him as a little too crazy, Walken replied, "If the shoe fits."
I love this movie with all my heart
season 1-4 is pure kino. the rest is shit or piss.
>Drive
Indeed. That episode named the israelite.
you can literally tell when the series ends (in the 6th season)
E.B.E. isn't my favorite but it's the quintessential X Files episode. It's kind of like the whole show encapsulated in one episode.
Lmao. That's pretty cute ngl
sp00py
for me, it's the Vince Gilligan episodes
both war of the worlds are good to be honest
The Day The Earth Stood Still was also a really good one. I grew up watching the Space network in the early 00's and I got a lot of classics and TOS Star Trek after school. Still to this day, even after watching TNG, I can't put it above TOS.
>It's another melanin sucking African vampire episode
Also:
>liver eating mutant
>fat eating mutant
>cancer eating mutant
X-Files was ruined by "mutant of the week" episodes. I get there were budget reasons, but it's so boring for most of the episode just ending up as "police procedural but with a mutant". There are far better ways to do it, like with Folie à Deux.
Well I won't disagree that some Monster of the Week episodes were duds, but I can't agree with you that the show was ruined by the format of perhaps 60% of episodes they had been running since season 1.
Emphasis on MUTANT of the week, not monster of the week. When your monster of the week is just some regular dude who has lightning powers, there's no fricking mystery.
>some regular dude who has lightning powers, there's no fricking mystery.
FRICK YOU israelite
THAT EPISODE IS GREAT
fricking no taste having ass b***h

X Files was suppose to be mutant of the week. There wasn’t suppose to be over arching myth. CSM was only suppose to be in one episode. Same with Deep Throat, Lone Gunman, Skinner. Writers went on early message boards saw that fans liked them so they brought them
back. Whole mythology was created because Anderson got pregnant mid season and needed close X Files and separate the two the second season when she’d be a balloon. And alien abduction so could leave show temporarily
i dont believe that. Didnt the series xfiles was inspired by have a conspiracy too
Here’s William B Davis talking about it
https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/the-x-files-1-of-the-most-iconic-characters-from-the-series-was-originally-cast-as-an-extra-with-no-lines.html/
Good Lord, what an abhorrent post.
S2E5-6: Scully is abducted by aliens, making Mulder's quest doubly more personal
S2E7: Mulder bangs hot vampie chick
Way it was planned, Anderson was to come back after end of abduction episode. But she needed more time after giving birth so scrambled to write “3.” It’s underrated episode. Shippers hate it obviously. I like it because reminds me of DD Red Shoe Diary Days
Even though he’s a massive cuck, Kumail Nanjiani X Files podcast he did is a must if your a fan. He has all main writers on the show who basically said pulled myth out of their ass because Anderson got pregnant. He also reads from posts form original X Files message boards.
to a degree i believe that the industry just goes so far in to an analogy that they accidentally make something good
i mean, look at american history x. when i was 9 years old and i saw that, do you think i was contemplating the impacts of racism and political ideology with regards to family structure?
>frick no
I was thinking:
>frick yea stomp that fricking Black person head in
My point is, the industry some times go so far in to an analogy that they accidentally make something good once in a while.
Scully's lips and chin.
>imagine the thighjobs while she wore that
She needs help with her phone, anon
holy fricking shit i need to catch up
>Mulder finds out about the ultimate truth that the day of Alien invasion is year 2012
>he loses all hope and motivation
This felt so out of place and moronic.
Okay so the alyums might be fake but he encountered so much paranormal phenomenon in his travels. The truth is still out there, big guy.
The overarching narrative of the entire series is that Mulder is fricking moronic and also his own worst enemy. Ronald Pakula and CGB Spender both tried to use him to tell the world the truth, and Mulder fricked it all up on numerous occasions.
just watched tempus fugit and max recently and they were quite kino, especially getting abducted out of planes
why do people downplay the myth arc or as i call it the conspiracy.
Its nuts.
Even though theres a few good eps sprinkled into Millenium in its three seasons
>it's a guest director episode
>"directed by David Duchovny"
S1E1: Mulder's first briefing you see a man in the back smoking a cigarette.
By S1E4, Mulder and Scully suspect him of a few things and give him the name "Cancer Man" because of his ever-present Morley cigarette.
By the middle of S1, he is suddenly called "Cigarette-smoking Man" or "Cigarette Man" only, and no mention of cancer.
This is the only real conspiracy in the entire series: that big tobacco threatened Fox network with a lawsuit for linking cigarettes to cancer.
Online fans called him CSM. Again Glen Morgan and David Wong, shows main writers went on early internet message boards. And CSM wasn’t in Conduit
what, on Delphi forums in '93?
Not sure. But do remember the form AOL days. Gillian Anderson was like first celeb with fake nudes
I used to fap to her fakes - and real lewds - on a site called areyou.com back in 1998.
Mulder called him "Cancer Man" by S1E3 on the show. They made him stop by mid-season.
CSM wasn’t in Squeeze either. He was in the pilot with no lines. Didn’t show up again until Tooms which introduced Skinner. First episode he had line at the end. He than showed up at season final. I don’t think he was even referee to by name until season 2
The terms ship, shipping, shippers, etc. applied to fictional characters hooking up arose from X Files groups in that era too.
Remember Bee?
>Essentially re-create the Oklahoma City bombing in your movie
>It looks so eerily similar that reviewers warn people who lost friends or relatives in the attack about it
>Also frame it as a government false flag to cover up evidence of alien activity
>Release it barely 3 years after the actual bombing
It was a different time. You'd get flayed alive for doing something like that now.
>has the guy in it that plays an alien shapeshifter and was also FBI in Millenium
I never noticed this the first time i watched xfiles but when i rewatched it. its amazing how many actors are used over and over.
Nicholas Lea played a dude who picked up a woman in a bar who then shapeshifted into a man in S1E14 - Gender Bender years before he was Krychek.
stuff like that, particularly back ground characters you see played by the same actor, its slightly immersion breaking
Beat me to it
Do you think they cast him as an alien super soldier as a cheeky way to explain his many appearances.
>plays 5 different characters, 6 if you count Millenium as part of the X-Files universe
mutant of the week is filler episodes
Are you some idiot zoomer and don’t understand pre streaming format? Shows ran 23 episodes a season. Every show
was a stand alone episode. Why? Because if you missed a episode back than you’re fricked. Not going to see it again until a rerun
can someone decipher this schizo morons post. I think he doesn't understand what filler episode means
It’s so contrived because making it up as they went
you are fricking moronic stfu. I watched the show in the 90s
No you didn’t. 99% of the show would be filler by your standards
You have no brain you idiot. The alien conspiracy arc starts with the first two episodes. Before Skully vanishes.
Its literally the pilot episode you fricking moron.
Look wiki marks it for you
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_X-Files_(season_1)
No. All “main plot” was aliens and government hiding their existence. That’s all there no consistency with aliens in season 1. In Fallen Angel the alien was like a predator rip off. Than in Gender Bender they’re a bunch gender shifting Amish freaks
Gender Bender was a MotW episode. They aren't aliens they're just freaks.
>They aren't aliens they're just freaks
Don't they travel interdimensionally at the end?
No, their tunnel is just myteriously sealed.
you are so full of shit, is this really what you anti-myth arc shitpisters have resorted to? outright claiming it doesn't exist.
You are a homosexual.
The arc exists its the overarching plot of the entire series established in the pilot and neatly concluded in One Son.
Here you go you moron. Interview show main writer Glen Morgan. Flat out says he pulled main plot out his ass because of Anderson’s pregnancy
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/kumail-nanjianis-the-x-files-files/id885275285?i=1000318777861
even for the pilot episode and first episode? yeah right lol
How would that have stopped the arc. they could have just shot them without one character which is what they did.
Do you even know how episodes for a show like xfiles are written?
They all start off as individual short stories without the series characters in them. Thats why monster of the week exists as a fricking concept you dipshit.
They take a story and write mulder into it.
Pilot just aliens abducting people. Government covering up. Pretty basic shit
Introduces reoccurring plot and characters and is immediately reaffirmed its a continuing plot in the second ep
Go back to whatever circlejerk you crawled out of
I just sent link can listen to main writer you butthole

are there any documentaries on the making of or history of the x-files?
>the entire plot with Scully's and Mulder's baby being a super special hybrid destined to rule the world or whatever
>later they just removed the baby's "powers"
>and then just gave it up for adaption
That was so fricking pointless, it lead to nothing, meant nothing and didn't matter at all.
how i used to divide the series was Alien episodes and paranormal episodes. Basically scifi vs magic.
All the alien episodes neatly complement the conspiracy episodes too.
Its even implied the paranormal episodes are in the continuity and affect the plot
Miss these homies like you wouldn't believe.
>My name is John Fitzgerald Byers. I was named after our 35th president, and I keep having this beautiful dream. In my dream, the events of November 22nd, 1963, never happened. In it, my namesake was never assassinated. Other things are different, too, in my dream. My country is hopeful and innocent - young again. Young in spirit. My fellow citizens trust their elect officials, never once having been betrayed by them. My government is truly "of the people, by the people, for the people". btw the second movie is the shittest movie ever made.
Its actually like a Cinemaphile shit post
Just a reminder X-Files pioneered JJ Abram's mystery box shit, and it's the same "we never wrote a series bible" garbage as Lost.
i own a collection of one of the writers short stories, i got given it as a gift.
They are very xfiles-like stories. But some of the most taboo shit ive ever seen in them.
It's been a long time, but I remember Mulder sperging out about his sister who was abducted when he was little.
Do we ever find out what happened to her? I know there's this crazy ep where it's revealed she has clones, but that's it - only clones, nobody knows what happened to the original.
see
Reminder the writers/producers/fox were continually freaking out at how much people were taking the show seriously and how believable it was.
So they kept self sabotaging it with goofy episodes and plots. It can still be seen in the second series
Well they weren’t wrong considering
Yeah but it turns out the X-Files/Lone Gunmen fiction was basically true. This the Current Year +9, not 1999. We know, and they know we know.

I wonder if you're talking about "that" episode, where it's revealed that a famous baseball player, the best one ever, is actually an ALIEN who LARPs as a black guy. He saw baseball on his ayyvision and dreamed to be a baseball star ever since. When he got his UFO flying license, he instantly traveled to Earth, chose his disguise to be a Black and became a superior baseball player due to his extraterrestrial skills. Finally, alien immigration police officer shows up telling him to GO BACK or he's kill. He choses the second option and dies bleeding red, non-toxic blood since apparently he wanted to be human so badly, he became one in the end.
Yeah... THAT episode... We don't talk about it around here.
