you can't buy physical of the grand tour and they don't even sell top gear on amazon. you have to hunt around on ebay for a second hand copy. even if you do get them all together it would cost hundreds since the blurays easily 10-20 each and you need to buy them individually.
If Hammond had gone before May he probably would have crashed instead. I'm guessing May didn't take into account that they were using studded tires and that he needed to brake sooner than normal.
The whole idea was not very smart. A completely and tightly enclosed drag strip with lights that don't show the end until you're right up on it. I bet the producers that came up with the idea and location feel pretty bad about it.
They've done the same challenge before where they have to get up to speed and brake before hitting some obstacle, but it's always been something relatively harmless like a pond or a piano, not a solid rock wall.
Season 1 of Grand Tour was a little weak since they were trying to hard to copy Top Gear exactly but they couldn't for legal reasons. It got noticeably better after that.
>hammond sleeping in a bed in the metal and plastic shed monstrosity he's assembled in moderate wind speeds that rattle the entire thing like the death trap it was
The best scene for me was when they were driving around the sub base. I initially thought it was a scripted gag, but no they were just going further than expected. And the Dutch soldiers weren’t saying anything.
The scripted shit could have been funny, but they went out of their way to make it as obtuse as possible
There's only so far I can suspend my disbelief
It just didn’t work at all. Oh try to pretend we slept in this cabin or woke up on a ski ramp or that clarkson actually pushed hammond down it. In the africa and burma ones I could actually tell they slept in the vehicles so they didn’t need wacky situations to make it more interesting. This one was a dud imo

NOW I'M PISSING AWAY 20 DOLLARS A MONTH ON FRICKING LITERAL YOUTUBE VIDEOS THAT TELL ME TO "CLICK TO SUBSCRIBE" BUT THERE'S NOTHING TO CLICK ON BECAUSE I'M WATCHING ON PRIME. WHAT THE FRICK??? I convinced my dad to pay for it, and he hasn't asked me to compensate him, yet, and I don't want to remind him that I should compensate him, so actually he's pissing away the 20 dollars / year.
>WHOA, THIS CAR GOES FASTER THAN THE OTHER CAR!!!! >WHOA, THIS IS ANOTHER CAR! >AAAAH IS THIS ANOTHER CAR?!?
I dont understand this culture, its just tools to get you somewhere, why are you overjoying it like it's football...I mean soccer...I mean it's a guy trying to get a ball to a goal...what's so entertaining about that either? Anybody, who enjoys this and/or soccer is a literal NPC >kick the baaaaaallll
>he hasn't seen a single episode of the show.
I don't give a frick about car culture, but I love this show, because of how well filmed and funny it is, and I don't complement Britshits lightly.
Obviously may hitting the wall at the speed of sound wasn't scripted but I think him crashing through the ice was. Overall too many unbelievable skits. The flame thrower cgi exhaust was TERRIBLE. Who the frick oked that. It was still great to see them back in action together but definitely not their best work.
I thought it was funnier and had better gags than a lot of the more recent ones, I thoroughly enjoyed it. You're not supposed to believe their gags are real, but their smiles and approach to things just makes the comedy work. I do wish they would go back to the winding long adventures through genuinely rough terrain - the Mongolia special is just incredible for that reason.
Also, I don't think the accident was scripted - you could see the distance lights at the end of the tunnel when they were racing down it, James misjudged it. BUT, the best unscripted gag was the fact they chartered the plane at the end without telling the crew and just got blasted on the flight home.
I cancelled my prime subscription because of what they did to tolkien :^(

Seeing James slam into that wall was genuinely hard to watch. You could tell even Jeremy was spooked
I knew he'd had an accident but that was a much bigger hit than I expected. I'm kind of shocked they let them do it without helmets.
I didn't even know he'd had a crash before watching it. So it spooked me too.
I knew he had a crash but I didn't expect it to be in that tunnel.
Scared the hell out of me bros. Idk if I can see them getting hurt anymore, especially at their age now.
It was kino. I'm honestly surprised it wasn't Hammond tho

Hard to say whether it was their idea or the producers, but yeah they clearly didn't plan it through properly.
Who’s in charge of safety in that show? Who thought it was a good idea?
I was watching his Italy show and it hit hard
when they pulled up to that section and decided on using it as a drag strip I immediately knew it was where may was gonna get ded
such a terrible idea
I need more comfy farm kino Clarkson.
Might be tough considering the UK government is doing everything it can to bankrupt their farmers.
I'd love to hear Clarkson's take on all that
I felt bad for the Evo, but the WRX is still clearly the better car.
Was the first time Hammond actually picked a good car?
Nah he picked the best car in the Africa Special, which was also the WRX.
Also Oliver in the Bolivia Special
I'm glad Oliver got to live a comfy life back in Britain.
Where's Clarkson and Hammond? Why is May there with some fat guy and a Mexican?
Did you just call Hammond a Mexican? I don't think he'd like that...
>Imagine waking up and remembering you're Mexican
Always makes me smile.
I haven't given them a shot since they moved over to streaming, love the original show too much to give the new era a chance tbh.
Am i fricking up?
Yeah there are some decent episodes. Especially the specials.
Season 1 of Grand Tour was a little weak since they were trying to hard to copy Top Gear exactly but they couldn't for legal reasons. It got noticeably better after that.
>every scene with the sheds
Comedy gold.
It reminded me of the old episode where they had to make their own caravans, which was also hilarious.
>hammond sleeping in a bed in the metal and plastic shed monstrosity he's assembled in moderate wind speeds that rattle the entire thing like the death trap it was
>implying they slept there
"ACKKKKK!"
Does that mean he's not coming on then?
OH NO
anyway
>LOOK AT ME I'M RICHARD HAMM-ACK!
poor bim

Yeah it was obvious it was a path they just took on their own when everyone else was busy with James.
>all the unfunny scripted shit
it sucked

The fire CGI in this was terrible. This is why you should film in countries that actually let you set fire to the hood of your car.
who?
You know, Goku, Trunks, Pan, that little robot guy
all zipping around through space and shit
