terrible
Wrong comic. Let a pro handle this:
>Gunnershit Fail
does it really matter at this point
questionable court or gunnershit content is a terrible webcomic
You're a terrible webcomic.
I wish
I would have a huge cult following of weirdos
Not until we get girls with breasts larger than their heads and robots that actually look like twinks.
we already have trans robots
Only Jerrek is close and he's not even an actual robot. GC just has white girl shenanigans.
Jerrek's hot tho.
We do have both of those things tho.
Questionable Content is a special kind of terrible where it objectively has fricking nothing going for it but characters people want to frick, and even then the characters look and act like shit and the people in those threads have even lower standards than here. Say what you want about GKC but it's still better than that shit, I'd go so far as to say that QC is the worst actually popular webcomic that gets posted here.
>characters people want to frick
Is that why people read it? I thought it was just out of a sense of misplaced devotion and that it used to be better, although probably not as good as GC ever was. I think GC's main issue is that Tom didn't plan out more of the plot before he went into writing this. It's gotten away from him, and that's why characters disappear into the background for a long time, pacing suffers, and events don't ever really feel weighty, even when there's actual stakes. It's a great premise. It's actually really solid writing in other regards too. But he's bitten off more than he can chew right now, and needs to take the time to lay out the plot and what each character's role is.
>I'd go so far as to say that QC is the worst actually popular webcomic that gets posted here.
Bittersweet Candybowl says hi.
>I thought it was just out of a sense of misplaced devotion and that it used to be better
Lol no, wishful thinking but no. The comic's always been terrible.
>Bittersweet Candybowl says hi.
That has better art than QC and at least something more going on that girls people want to frick. I don't like it at all but even that has more going on than QC.
>I thought it was just out of a sense of misplaced devotion and that it used to be better,
QC being nothing but pander-bait was known even in 2008.
QC is like the last holdout of those 2000s "Everything's drawn like shit but there are promiscuous girls!!!" comics. It was never any better and if anything was even worse
You're comparing something that looks like mspaint to artistic style?
WOOOOOOOOOOOW
Janet's smart to avoid attending the rapture.
I don't remember which one of them is Janet. Is that the girl with the robot boyfriend? The girl that was revived with magic after Loup attacked? A large cast only works when we spend enough time with all of them to make them stick.
She is the headmaster's daughter.
Janet Llanwellyn, William Winsbury's girlfriend.
As a running gag, all of their friends think they are joking about being a couple.
She is good at sports, specifically, she seems to have pinpoint aim. Curiously, this is an ability that William coincidentally also possesses. We do not know yet if either of their abilities are supernatural.
Going off of this page, it seems likely that the court considers her ability supernatural and therefore she isn't invited to cross the 'ocean', despite some deal that her father made with them.
Would you like some more carrots and sweet peas? Yes you would! Here comes the airplane!
>Would you like some more carrots and sweet peas? Yes you would! Here comes the airplane!
Is this a fetish?
Some people never had a fulfilling childhood and tend to infantilize others for that very reason.
yes
No, what I did was make a joke about spoon feeding a baby or very young toddler.
It's weird that having really good aim is too much but Kat's technomancer shit is acceptable
It does, but it's just an assumption that that's why she isn't there.
True. They made it suspicious as hell with the selective invitations to a 'meeting' and if William didn't get one, she probably would have declined.
Yeah, seems plausible. She might not be all that enamored with the Court's practices, for all that she's a high-up's daughter.
Oh, thanks Anon.
>She is the headmaster's daughter.
>She is good at sports, specifically, she seems to have pinpoint aim. Curiously, this is an ability that William coincidentally also possesses.
Where are these mentioned? I have no memory of this part.
Her name is Janet Llanwellyn.
The headmaster's name is Jonathan Llanwellyn.
I'm very certain that it was also outright stated at some point but I'm not going to look up where, because that is irrelevant, as this page shows the man looking for his daughter.
Her and William's athletic abilities have been established several times, most notably when he split an arrow that she shot into a target and then when she subsequently shot another arrow through an arrow he shot while it was in flight. The most recent reference to her aim was, I believe, when the girls went out bowling.
Cheers.
I remembered wrong, I apologize.
William might not have any amazing aim.
He seems very on target here, but he never split Janet's arrow.
This is not that unlikely.
He was based on a song of a boy impregnating a king's daughter.
Though to be fair
>Last shot determines the winner
seems to imply that he is the second best archer after Janet, but since they are all very young here I don't think that means much.
And they both shot two perfect bullseyes in a row, so maybe it DOES mean he's really good. Or he just got lucky. Who knows. Likely the former.
The relation is mentioned when Annie first meets him
Oh, good, they brought Jesus.
Who the hell is Janet
And you told me she was on morale duty. This is why you always get 2 people on the job. Now bring Jones there asap this man is going to explode.
Isn't that Jones next to Kat?
Did Kat just accidentally walk into a mass suicide?
Tom's not cool enough to do that
Aw shit they're about to nuke the old court
With a small motorboat?
No, with a nuke.
o no this is a "teen pregnant girl goes missing with her boyfriend" episode....
GO
INTO THE WAAATEEER.
LIVE THERE.
DIE THERE.
LIVE THERE.
DIE THERE.
i haven’t read this since Paz and Kat ended up together
anything important happen since?
Yeah a lot, you should catch up.
yeah alright, i’ll peep it later this weekend for my old girl
Oh. Oh I'm so sorry.
S-Stop, she was the reason i started reading it 10 years ago
now I have to bump it up to tomorrow…
Well, you'll have to let us know what you think.
Best to close the thread because people are posting spoilers now
i already knew about two annie’s but ye, i’m off to bed
Based parleylover and potential drawgay
A lot of things happened or were resolved in the least interesting way possible
Things happened, they're meant to be important but they don't really feel it. I would say the only things that we've seen that felt weighty were Coyote and Ysengrin's death, Loup coming into existence, there being two Annies for a while, and Kat's robot cult taking shape. Which sounds like a lot, but they even if their ramifications have lasted a while, most of character reactions are dealt with off screen or quickly. And the rest of the things going on aren't all that major.
It might be more enjoyable to binge though, so sure, give it a try.
>
Kek. I wish artists were still doing Annie x Annie stuff.
Remember what they took from you.
>She... seems to be real...
>...but JUST to be sure...
When was the last time that we saw Cookie (?) and January (?), Larley's friends?
the last time we saw them was their first time
I thought they appeared at least twice
Gkc is not primarily a webcomic, it's intended and written as a print graphic novel that you effers get early and for free. Why do you compare it to some z-rate slice of life webcomic garbage on the level of moon over june that you found on tumblr? Insulting.
Because some people in these threads are so obsessively negative that they s oi sincerely believe that GKC being mediocre lately puts it on the same level as fricking QC, a webcomic so fricking bad that it's current story arc is about a vtuber literally calling herself mommy milkers and used as an excuse to draw in even worse quality where the lines aren't even fricking straight. I think that GKC is at a bit of an low point right now but QC is just remarkably shit.

Sounds like modern GKC honestly
>a webcomic so fricking bad that it's current story arc is about a vtuber literally calling herself mommy milkers and used as an excuse to draw in even worse quality where the lines aren't even fricking straight.
>Thought you were making up bullshit
>Check out the comic
Holy frick how the actual shit can people read this trash
Oh god I didn't believe you and made the same mistake!
The thought of this being profitable makes me want to die.
>It's real
...
Ok maybe recent Gunnerkrigg isn't that bad after all. I still have problems with it but this is really putting things into perspective
Disgusting.
But not in the disruptive rebellious artist way.
More like how feces are disgusting.
Where Jones
No, he's looking for Janet. JANET. Te names look kinda similar.
How is the upper echelon of the Court going to be the final boss when every single named character in the Court's shady anti-magic faction keeps getting kicked out? All of the Shadow Men we have been properly introduced to have either left or gotten fired. Now even Llanwellyn may be leaving since they won't let his daughter into whatever their creepy escape plot is.
Is it really going to be only Kat involved with them?
Zimmy will be the final boss. She'll morph into an Akira blob and kill everyone.
I've long since given up on predicting this comic.
I actually only got around to properly reading it a couple weeks ago, so I'm arrogant enough to think I understand where it is going.
>Major theme is magic vs. science
>This is represented by Forest vs. Court
>Annie also stands for magic while Kat stands for science
>Loup is an antagonist but his actual goals (besides banging Annie) seem to be opposing the Court, which is becoming very sinister. So he's not likely to be the main antagonist in the endgame
>The robot cult is super creepy and I don't know where it is going, but it definitely makes Kat more important
Anyway, I'm pretty sure the comic is heading to some sort of opposition between Annie and Kat. Probably not a fight and maybe not even a quarrel, but they will stand for the opposide sides of magic and science somehow and resolve whatever the issue is by reconciling those sides.
This has been hinted at thematically since the beginning but so far we've seen nothing in the actual canon that even remotely suggests this outcome.
I think the most recent developments with Kat are heading in that direction. She is the only important character to be selected by the Court to participate in their exile project or whatever.
If that's the case, the comic isn't even close to ending. I've been operating on the premise that Loup was probably the climax of the comic.
That assumption might have been false.
It looks like he wasn't, since Loup is now undercover investigating the Omega Machine (ominous name). I'm pretty sure Omega will be the final threat in some way.
I don't think it will become a threat, but it will be something unnatural (like the arrow keeping Jranne bound to the ravine) and Annie/Kat won't let the Court get away with it.
Oh shit, I've never seen this dude freak out like this, I guess I'll catch up now.
