Her pose is kinda cute ngl
Omega is a cute old weirdo. I hope she wins the Tonybowl and becomes Annie's new stepmom.
She probably is Annie's great^n grandmother. Probably used le court science magic to put a Charles sperm and her ovum into an artificial womb, s'why Tony and Annie inherited autism.
It probably would be an interesting concept to explore if Tom had spent a little more time planning out some proper pacing and establishment instead of just flying by feel.
If that is the case, Omega would be both Annie's great grandmother and her new mom (and also her stalker). Imagine just how weird the family reunions will be like.
>ancient hag acting like a cute girl
I don't know if I should be aroused or disgusted.
She hasn't had a body for at least a good hundred years or so. Perhaps her childlike excitability will wane soon, but for now it seems pretty reasonable that she'd be hyperactive and jumping around.
By way of her look, I agree.
Charles must have been a dick then.
He had one. That's close enough, right?
>Tony makes Annie age regress
>Omega fricked(?) Charles and is now age regressing
hmmmm
Aroused. Full stop
Older women with a lot of energy tend to be sexual juggernauts, so aroused.
Chapter 94: Page 23: Annie watches her dad get banged by some freak with black hair.
I know right? she's so thirsty
Yes, please!
Tony: turned down for what?!
Aww look Annie is getting a new mom soon.
I'd prefer Brinnie, but I'll take Omega, certainly. Annie just needs a mom.
This, but in reverse.
Omega seems alright, but I want Tony to get some Valkyrie pussy.
How is that in reverse? We are agreeing that Brinnie would be clearly superior.
>Your dad reminds me of the old guy I wanted to frick!
You guys think Omega will be Zimmy 2.0, a core cast member, or something else?
This comic is too close to the end to get any new core cast members
Ridiculous, baseless statement.
Fricking everything is getting wrapped up. There's no way we're not nearing the end.
No, obviously we're coming up on it, though Tom said that it won't end by chapyer 100, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm arguing that there's no reason Omega wouldn't tag along with Annie for the rest of the comic. If anything, it'd be out of character for her not to.
She only has a working body because of the zimzam/loup reality frickery. As soon as she re-enters realspace she's back to being the God-Empress of Courtkind.
I am not so sure about that.
>everything is getting wrapped up
Nonsense. We haven't even gotten more information on that Steadman person.
>Fricking everything is getting wrapped up
Is it?
We're getting answers to old questions, but they're questions that aren't particularly important to the actual tension in the plot right now.
In case everyone has forgotten, which is likely considering how long the comic has been faffing about with Omega and Robot, Lana got eaten by Coyote who was then attacked by Loup and they all merged(?) with Zimmy.
Now if only someone could remind Annie...
>This comic is too close to the end to get any new core cast members
Is the comic going to end on chapter 100?
Tom said no. It'll take a bit longer.
If she were to make any sense at all as a character, she'd need to be constantly surveilling Annie from now on, yes.
without Zimmy's distortion Omega is a brain in a jar inside a computer that probably runs on Windows 98 or some antique shit like that. Unless they transfer her into a proper bot she's just a Vtuber avatar so far.
I think the distortion is more real than you think. It's not like a big illusion or whatever. Omega should just be a New Person now.
>Unless they transfer her into a proper bot she's just a Vtuber avatar so far.
I would subscribe to Omega's Vtuber channel! What would her videos be about?
well she can perfectly win any rng based game so there's at least that.
>playing shitty gacha games all day
>always gets the exact units she's pulling for
That's not what a prediction is.
Just Annie vlogs.
Omega's enjoying her freedom now but she's probably deeply exhausted and tired of living, esp. since she has nothing/no-one to live for. She'll probably die right after this arc ends.
She will be unceremoniously relegated to the background or written off as soon as this story arc ends with loup inconsequentially choosing to revert back to his base components of coyote and ysengrin as he cannot bear to exist in a world without Lana who is also dead. Then we will start on a new and pointless plot about "where the court keeps their stash".
I think based on that last panel, with Omega being aware of Tony's resemblance to Charles, that probably means that it's a random resemblance, right? There should be no actual connection between the two.
Tony has been studying omega for ages, so it makes sense.
I don't think he studied Omega : the device, but more like he was in charge to check random Omega predictions to keep in track with her loss of accuracy over time. He was more or less exiled, the predictions were chosen far away on purpose.
>He was more or less exiled
You're misremembering. Surma insisted on going into hiding cause she didn't want Annie to be born in the Court. Probably didn't want her getting chipped or some shit. I still maintain that she was also aware of Omega, but didn't have the full context, and didn't want to risk her daughter getting assassinated or something.
This might be the one time I actually want to see a Tony flashback. Cause now I gotta know what the hell any of that entailed. Also, we now know the connection between the "Omega Device" and Surma's pregnancy. Oh, and Donnie clearly knew about this.
... Also, Omega not only watched Surma and Tony frick, but she watched Annie's birth.
Omega has watched EVERYONE frick, anon. The information is all there, she need but avail herself of it.
>Omega has watched EVERYONE frick
Except Annie.
You are high as a kite if you seriously think she wasn't all about that selfcest action.
Nope. Never got the chance. Neither had the courage to ask the other and now they're dead.
Forest Annie was way too autistic but Court Annie was a little more temperamental, she could have made a move. At least that's what the fanart tells me and my headcanon desperately wants to believe happened.
?si=uPph0UGF5SdSTe2q
Anon please respect my headcanon it's the only way I can accept they're no long with us.
I miss them, too, bro! 🙁
Were the Annies even really that different? I think the obvious assumption in this trope is that they would be, but it seemed like they actually WEREN'T, not after their initial discrepancies were resolved. Tony reacted differently to them (for moronic reasons I'm just tired of even getting into) but past the first few scenes or whatever they were pretty much just the same, not split down the middle psychologically or anything.
Tony is clearly the most important person to her, so I'd say that any development Courtney had with him was pretty formative.
Wait, was the court's plan to passively kill off the fire spirit?
>Through prescient manipulation, hook up Surma and Tony, because you KNOW they will frick, and thus Surma will die, passing on the fire spirit
>You know the fire spirit child will then wind up in the court, and then die on the bridge, thus no more heir to the spirit
The thing I'm confused about is: who gives a frick about the fire spirit, though? In the sense that, okay, cool, you've got some being that has control over fire... but you've also got literal elder gods from before recorded time and reality-bending technology. What does it matter?
Maybe it's not just A random fire spirit. Could be an important being. Maybe another god?
>Oh? Is this young handsome scientist really THAT interested in an old, ancient super computer like me?
I very seriously need you to stop.
He reminds her of Charles. A younger, more handsome, thinner version of Charles.
I could not begin to care less. Stop shipping Omega with Tony. The frick is wrong with you people?
Not sure what you mean? Why does anything have to be wrong with me to hope cool computer grandma finds happiness?
>happiness
>with Tony
Way to tell on yourself that you either haven't read the comic, or you're actually fricked in the head.
What's wrong with wanting Tony, one of the few people who haven't done anything wrong during the entire story, to be happy?
This, Tony's like Griffith, neither of them did anything wrong.
Frick you and your sarcasm. I hate this.
So after years of waiting for the big reveal of the Omega Device, not only do we find out that she's a weird cyber-hag, but a voyeur. ... Sigh. I don't even know what to do with that.
>sarcasm
What? I meant it.
>more handsome
he canonically looks like shit, he pretty much had his entire face broken by the weird monsters who raped him
Scars are sexy. Even more so scars he got from sacrificing himself to bring back his dead wife. He's loyal, dedicated and badass.
We know, Omega. Just calm down a little.
I remember one of you rotten homosexuals kept talking about how Charles resembled Anthony, and I doubted you. I just wanted to say I'm not sorry, and it WILL happen again.
OH GOD NO. The flag is not just red nor crimson, but soaked in the blood of orphans .
Also, I kinda like how Annie is having none of this shit. Gotta stay on task.
She should befriend Lana, and together they would be the court's easiest bicycles.
>Well Kat, I've done it. Between Omega and Lana every boy in the school is currently indisposed. With no young boys around, Jones will almost certainly notice me.
>Rey sits in the corner, dejected
I would love to see the adventures of Lana and Omega enjoying their new bodies.
Lewd aside that would be really cute. Just two super excited, energetic robot girls.
>the mysterious and ominous Omega Device
>turns out to be a cute girl
Gunnerkrigg Court, everyone!
just like my japanese animes
lmao
Next page she's going to turn directly to the reader and call you a moron if you don't like Tony.
Hopefully! Some people still haven't gotten it into their thick skulls that Tony is based af
He's not going to frick you, Annie.
H-he touched me that one time during Karate practice! He loves me!!
He should, though. That should solve her daddy issues. I think.
>ugly spastic has two hot women fighting over him, one of whom was already dating a superhuman chad
>his cute daughter has already decided to dedicate her life to him
Oh I get it, he's some weird wish fulfillment
How is it weird? Wouldn't you, as an autist, want to be like Anthony? Having Annie as your daughter?
Wait, why did she specify Windsbury? I wouldn't exactly place him at the top of the list of people Annie considers important to her. ... I swear to god, if Omega turns out to be a dirty shipper, she can go in the bin.
If you narrow down her social circle to the non-etheric ones then yeah he'd be up there. Maybe Andrew would be a better pick, but he'd be with Parley anyway.
But Parley is etheric, and she was the first who came to mind.
William is one of the only friends Annie has at the court.
The entire list of her friends that are still at the court, sorted by importance looks probably kinda like this:
Kat and Rey
Smitty and Parley
If adults and Jones count they all kinda go here-ish
...Lana and Loup?
William
Jack
Janet, Margo, John
Basil
I'm sure I forgot someone, but that's pretty much it
Oh, forgot zimmy and gamma. They're around Lana and Loup.
We also don't know how Smitty and Omega interact. He pretty much bypasses all predictions by reality bending to his will.
He clearly doesn't.
Omega said that Annie is the only one that messes up her predictions.
Even Tony is more well liked than Annie is.
Cvet already had more friends than Annie after only like a few weeks, remember?
Annie kinda hates Loup, she loves Ysengrin though and is the head of his fanclub (Membership count: 1).
Ysengrin is dead, anon.
It's Annie, you have to scrap the bottom of the barrel when you want to list her social aquaintances.
It's kinda telling that the closest relationship Annie's had in ages was with a clone of herself
Well, yeah, duh. She's a narcissist. That should be obvious.
and that ended in cold blooded murder
So hey, to whoever it was that chased away all the fanartists from the GKC community, frick you. We're currently sitting on gold, but we've got no geologists.
Ask ai anon.
Oh yes the GKC threads were the trendy garrets of flourishing art before the ai gays such as myself came
I didn't say you drove anyone away. I didn't even imply that.
okay my bad
This so much! I think of all the fanart we would be getting right now if the fanbase in Cinemaphile was the same as before and I weep!
Blame the "thread purity" weirdo that insisted that fanart was detracting from discussion. I wonder if he still posts here, he was autistic as fricking frick.
Well, at least we now have AI. That's something.
So, by now we only have two drawgays left, Imaa and Annie's boobs anon, right?
Oh! And one AI prompter.
That one guy that did the Annie x Rey stuff might still be here too, possibly
oh that was a combination of imaa and the purity gay
Probably unintentional, but she's giving of a lot of this energy.
>let's go see your dad
>but first I need a new wardrobe
>*pretty woman montage starts playing*
>call back to this page, but Annie is 100% in the right this time
Also, to the person last thread who was trying to pull some historical revisionism on the Steadman thing. Frick you. Every single update with that fricking panel.
>Especially the borderline immoral sex stuff. Indeed, some of the sheer debauchery we committed technically still counts as rape even with full consent! And that's the way I like it!
How many people do you think were authorized to use Omega directly?
probably only men, and they had to use that one special interface with the big silicon hole on it for identification.
>probably only men
1) Omega is this close to going full bad touch on Annie.
2) The Court is where all the nerds who knew about the paranormal fricked off to escape from mainstream society, remember? I promise you that if Omega wanted some ladies, she'd get some ladies. ... I mean she likely has a preference for gingers, but still.
If Brinnie loses again because she still expects Tony to take the initiative, she deserves it.
>Omega and Brinnie get into a fight over who gets to have Tony
Live Tony Reaction
:^|
Is autism really such a turn-on for girls?
Why am I not drowning in pussy right now?
You have to have the :^| kind of autism not the :^O kind or the >:^ kind.
God damnit.
Do you have glasses and a daughter that attracts women for you she refuses to have to appear asexual
I wonder what Tony's and Kat's relationship is in the timeline in which Annie does not exist.
>omega is going to be annie's new mom
wasn't expecting this plot twist, but i'm all for it
I guess Omega could get a new body with Kat's tech, but this reminds me, we still don't really know how Diego made his robot's brainchips, right?
She already had a New Person body. Unless that's only a temporary body via the distortion, in which case, yeah, she'll likely get a new one once reality gets unfricked. I mean, one has to presume that cybernetics tech has improved since the 1700s or whenever that flashback was.
Wild theory time. Omega is the mysterious leader of the Court who appeared at the beach to tell everyone about the Star Ocean. Despite her friendly demeanor, she's framed ominously and keeps saying things that seem to hint at sinister intent. All the shady crap the Court has pulled over the course of the comic's run? It's been her pulling the strings, and all of this has been a game she's playing with Annie. Omega is more or less the main villain of Gunnerkrigg Court.
Ways this does make sense
1. A world without ether would mean Omega could probably live a normal life, which would be her primary motivation
2. Omega is probably capable of this
Ways this doesn't make sense
1. Omega getting a robo-body basically shatters any motivation she has to continue the plan, unless she is happy to give up being the ultimate voyeur for a world without the ether
2. Omega doesn't seem to have the puppet master mindset.
Just typing this out made me realise what I don't like about Omega. She's one of if not the oldest characters in the comic, Diego's bots might beat her. Regardless, she's old as frick, has suffered greatly in ways most people could never comprehend, and has access to immense knowledge.
Yet none of that comes across in her behaviour, she acts like a wienery teenager. Now this could be the proteus effect, which we've already seen with Loup becoming Jerrick, but I'm not convinced this is the case. I feel like Tom just forgot that she's supposed to be old.
I think it's to show how mentally unstable she's become.
even while she was in pain constantly she knew it would end, a guy who loves her will save her and she will outlast her body and many others. and now she's literally born again. she has all reason to be giddy. also, depending on how soon her "knowing" started, her brain should have a different maturity due to not being required to learn.
leaves the question of whether her brain ever adapted in some way, as normal brains tend to do.
Yeah, Omega isn't acting weird at all, given her backstory, imo.
>one of if not the oldest characters
>not the immovable unstoppable bear mode mama, who woke up as the earth formed
If Jones had come to the court one or two hundred years earlier, do you think she'd have groomed Omega, too?
Jones doesn't really seem to have ambition or motivation. It's to easy
Grooming kids is one of her only motivations.
she acts on her behalf at least. just read some older chapters again and her speeding up the relationship of Smitty and Parley had to be in accordance to the predictions.
Probably since it'd help Jones keep an ear to what humans were discovering about her potential origins.
We have never seen Jones groom girls, though. But I would love to see Jones grooming Omega...
That's just because for most of human history lesbianism wasn't as accepted as it is now.
You know, why DOES Jones groom people anyway? Her flashback never really explained why, it's obvious that she's interested in humans for being so similar but that doesn't really give her a motive for grooming. Since she's immortal she could always learn the necessary skills to keep her at the top of society, it's not like she needs to groom people to do that.
My take is that after finally seeing a species that looked like her she decided to give that mating thing a go, and quickly learned it could not only grant her favors but also felt good to the person she was doing it with. Even though it's kind of debatable if Jones can feel things like pain/pleasure, she's definitely shown caring for humans and would probably like knowing she was at least making them feel good even if she couldn't feel it herself.
>You know, why DOES Jones groom people anyway?
She doesn't. You're all just brain-rotted morons who don't know what that word means. Being someone's friend is not grooming.
Bro she's literally shown picking people at a young age to become her lover as an adult.
>Being someone's friend is not grooming.
Anon, don't tell me...
Did you have any special "friend" growing up?
She is literally doing the exact definition of grooming.
"the practice of preparing or training someone for a particular purpose or activity." -Oxford
Jones was retroactively brought into existence by the Ether when a NEET wished his sex doll was real
>Jones was retroactively brought into existence by the Ether when a NEET wished his sex doll was real
[citation needed]
Also, what does sex with Jones is like?
>Has literally been having sex with humans for hundreds of years, possibly thousands
Probably really good
>Sex with the immovable object
Her pussy will literally crush your dick
She has flesh that is flexible, so I think the possibility of sex is there. That been said I would be terrified of it. Who knows what will happen when she orgasms?
Considering how long she's been sleeping with people I think it's safe to assume that's not a problem.
Jones has been proven to have extreme control over her muscles, otherwise she'd just crush everything she touched and Annie's hands would have been bloody stumps as soon as she held them. If anything she probably has crazy control over her veganal muscles and could fit you like a glove.
Are you willing to bet your willy on her keeping her self-control during an orgasm?
Brother given how many other men she's been with? Abso-fricking-lutely.
Yeah like I'm pretty sure Eggers would have flipper the frick out if he stuck it in her and ended up with his dick smashed into a bloody pulp and never associated with Jones again. Seems a lot more likely she's safe.
Has she ever orgasmed?
eglamore might be the closest to making her considering how much power he has
>Eglamore nearly breaks Surma's pelvis the first time they have sex because he's used to fricking Jones
Jones can't orgasm.
We don't know that for sure, but we can maybe assume she hasn't.
I bet there's a whole department at the Court devoted to trying to make Jones orgasm.
>Jones can't orgasm.
I've been led to believe through this threads that she is "fully functional". If she has a nervous system and the whole plumbing down there is set up, then she *should* be able to have an orgasm.
Well, maybe her body could potentially go through the motions of orgasming (although I don't even think she can do that, the same way she can't feel pain), but it would be meaningless to her, as she doesn't understand the feeling of pleasure or joy or any feeling.
Could Coyote do that for her? Like Q making Data laugh?
We can hope.
I want Kat to make a headset for Jones that lets her orgasm.
Like who and who?
Sorry you have to be over 18 to post here
What does age have to do with not knowing some random characters?
You're right you're just advertising both your cultural ignorance for not knowing and your general stupidity for deciding to write that rather than google those names, my bad.
>cultural ignorance
Is this an american thing? Do you expect the whole world to know all your pop "culture"?
And I didn't google them because I'm not that interested in knowing about these characters.
Oh just being a b***h then, got it!
>that time Annie got to hold Jones' hand
Lucky b***h.
There is nothing, NOTHING, Annie could do to stop Jones from raping her if she wanted to.
No wonder she makes Annie so wet.
Actually, there's one very simple way to prevent Jones from raping you.
Just be willing
Most likely hundreds of thousands, actually.
Yeah I was being conservative, if I remember the flashback properly the only time it's implied she was sleeping with people was in the early modern era part of it. It's entirely possible she got busy with the first homosexual sapiens she found.
Everyone eventually realizes that something isn't quite right with her, but a dude who's known her since he was a child isn't going to sell out his beloved onee-san. She's obviously not in any real danger, but she seems to like to stick around with her adopted people until she's kicked out or they're all dead.
eh, he's not a good writer but it's a bit believable that she is acting like this. I agree she comes across immature so I assume there is a reason for it. Likely what happens when an aged person who became a machine suddenly experiences life and movement. Like a blind person being able to see
I don't think the new world strips away etheric abilities from people who have them, that's why they're so careful about who gets to go.
The robot body is merely a way to move, she needs the distortion to have her mind clear and free.
I'm 90% sure that's Anja. The hair has swirls like hers does.
I might just be tired but I don't see the resemblance at all; if anything, the figure looks mannish, with a squarer set and suit/blazer of some kind. The only swirls I see are the square obfuscations which look just like that, obfuscations
Oh frick me, I just now realized that Omega is probably the reason Surma left the Court to have Annie. She found out that Court is run by a precog, and was afraid that someone was going to try and prevent The Event.
Wow, Omega is so genki! I wasn't expecting this!
>I like Tony!
uh oh
I would just like to remind everyone that Omega is fully on board with the Planet Normie thing. Regardless of her fangirling over Annie, she still sees her as an abomination that needs to be left behind. She likes Annie, but believes she has no place in the new world she's created.
Omega is as real as a realist can get you fricking moron, she can't do anything about the new world even if she fricking wanted to, and she doesn't want to because why should she care? She didn't even make it, the court did. Have you been forgetting to read the latest pages or what.
Dude, she's clearly complicit, and even directly alluding to her distaste for the ether. She's the very willing architect of the new world.
how much freedom does her current physical self has anyway? It's possible the currend devices only wires to her organs with a direct input->output circuit, and her wanting to answer or not is just not a parameters.
>Ok, jesus, enough distractions. You can find people in here, right? Can you find anyone relevant to the plot?
>"lol no but I can find another distraction! Let's go!"
Actually, speaking of the character poll, at least one person voted for Boxbot. Gotta wonder how many more votes she'd get now. Probably a lot. Might hit top ten, even.
Is like the writer doesn't know what certainty, chance, chaos, or omniscience is.
here we go again....
Can't we have a normal feild trip?
With the Frizz?
NO WAY!
She never denied knowing things about Jones.
Why did you coward out, Tom? It's not like there's any ultra-conservative normies reading your comic would would get their feefees hurt if Annie literally fricked herself. All the actual fans were rooting for this. Come on.
Apparently it conflicts with the ending somehow. I'm not sure why Tom's ok with introducing stuff like this on the fly with some cases but then also refuses to change other things like the Norns chapter or apparently the ending. Tom even still draws them in his streams, he clearly liked the idea himself.
>Apparently it conflicts with the ending somehow.
I cannot fricking fathom how.
>Tom even still draws them in his streams, he clearly liked the idea himself.
... He streams? Also, if he likes the concept so much, fricking find a way to keep it, homie! I get it's important to have a pre-planned endgame, but don't Game of Thrones it where you stubbornly hold onto it at the expense of all the developments beforehand.
Yeah, an anon posted some of the recent stream art in these threads, here's one I saved. And I totally agree, I feel like he's too committed to certain stuff he set up early on. Again the Norns are probably the Class A example of that.
>pic related
I still don't get why people are so mad about the Norns.
Even the Rick and Morty fanbase had people somehow whining about Beth and Space Beth. Not us though, the GKC readers were all aboard the double ginger train. Tom was safe to go for it.
Norns just felt out of place compared to all the buildup that came before, it really does feel like an early concept that should have been dropped. And Beth's thing was portrayed as being uncomfortable and weird by the show itself, while the Gunnerkrigg fandom basically decided it'd be uncomfortable and weird for all of three seconds before the Annies got into it.
Also have another.
>Norns just felt out of place compared to all the buildup that came before,
I don't see it. It's not like the girls meeting gods is unprecedented, obviously. I guess Kat should've built a time machine or something?
>And Beth's thing was portrayed as being uncomfortable and weird by the show itself,
Well, at first, until Jerry goes "Jokes on you, I'm into that shit!". Which, respect.
>while the Gunnerkrigg fandom basically decided it'd be uncomfortable and weird for all of three seconds before the Annies got into it.
Their chemistry was SO GOOD. Annie forms a classical tomboy and girly girl pairing with herself! And because they're Annie, they're the only people they can truly open up to. It's fricking incredible.
Kat building the time machine would have been better yeah, I think. The Norns just felt sort of... inserted in to explain this big major mystery and then kind of disappeared again. Felt weak to me. As for Beth I'm sort of just trying to rationalize why normalgays got so turned off by it, I was into it too.
>Their chemistry was SO GOOD. Annie forms a classical tomboy and girly girl pairing with herself! And because they're Annie, they're the only people they can truly open up to. It's fricking incredible.
Yeah it actually works in the context of the story and their characters, it's fricking wild. It's not like a lot of other stuff I've seen where it's just "hurrdurr alternate version so they fugg", it actually fricking works from an emotional and character standpoint. Plus it's hot.
Last one of these I saved by the way.
None of these are drawings Tom made because he liked the two Annies in particular. They are for a collection of outfits of all the chapters of the comic.
It really doesn't help that Dealing With HER is genuinely one of the best written chapters, and where we learn a lot about Annie we didn't know.
>Aw, good for her! She'd better learn her place soon though.
This territorial attitude, for example. Wow.
>As for Beth I'm sort of just trying to rationalize why normalgays got so turned off by it, I was into it too.
Beth was always a narcissist. Anyone who didn't see that coming is kidding themselves.
The Norms where fine as solution, the problem was not the Norms or what they did.
It was that Kat did not have to do anything suddenly be able to access the time stream.
Even just the Norms stating that Kat will be spending the rest of her life paying of this debt would have fixed everything.
>Beth
Space Beth is just an excuse to make cheap incest jokes, also Beth largely hates herself and getting to ignore that fact is the sole basis of their relationship.
Compared to the Annie's who actually like themselves without any outside factors.
>The Norns just felt sort of... inserted in to explain this big major mystery and then kind of disappeared again. Felt weak to me.
Criminally so. I can't even say it was the biggest letdown, since it was right smack dab in the middle of a slew of letdowns that were so rapid fire and demoralizing I can't even really rank them. Look, there's something to be said for ballsily playing the "deus ex machina" card literally, but then there's just brazen laziness. It's complete tonal deflation.
In my mind there are two big problems with the Norns:
1) they take the impetus out of Kat's hands. Instead of Kat overcoming the boundaries of space and time to save Annie and grappling with the bootstrap paradox, she just gets gifted the resolution to her problem by literal gods.
2) it doesn't move the story forward. It explains something that happened in the past, but it more or less just wraps up that plot thread entirely without creating a new one or altering another existing one. It's a narrative dead end.
>They take the impetus out of Kat's hands.
See, this is a criticism I can get behind, cause removing a protagonist's agency needs a damn good excuse.
Tom probably could've had this tie into Kat's scary ass not-villain arc she's going through right now, since this was obviously always a planned storyline. Just start it early.
Granted, that would kinda leave Brinnie hanging, but hey. ... Unless Kat convinced her to let her study her temporal powers, which Brinnie must have to enter the Norns' realm in the first place.
I'm fairly certain all of this is completely intentional.
There's no way the norns won't be back. There's still the mystery of what the original Kat did and the norns being so proactive seems to imply they had a hidden motive of their own that's yet to be revealed.
Even if it were intentional that wouldn't make it good
Thinking about it I keep coming back to how much this comic seems to hate confrontation. Think how much more interesting that whole sequence would be if, instead of doing her job for her and calling her the most speshulist babe in the world, the Norns were pissed off that Kat was fricking around with time travel and creating/created a paradox by building the tiktok and trying to send it back in time. They could punish her somehow, or demand she do some task in recompense, driving the story forward to a new thread while still explaining the time travel.
Really, just imagine for a second that Kat figured out how to send the bird back on her own, saved Annie, and then the Norns called them in for a confrontation.
>Thinking about it I keep coming back to how much this comic seems to hate confrontation
You hit the nail on the head! That's precisely what I dislike the most about the current state of the comic. And one of its biggest problems, to me.
Mark my words, there will be no substacial confrontation in the rest of the story, that doesn't deflate instantly into a friendly talk or something.
I love it.
sorry anon, confrontation can only happen when its someone getting angry at Annie for something she didn't do.
That was fun, yes!
Stupid Annie was like 'wha-?!?'
Well, she is always stupid. We just don't get confrontation because of it.
>Stupid Annie
Idk who this is. I only know our precious well-meaning dork, Antimony, who's smart even if she sticks up for her moronic father!
It's really funny how Red and Ayilu went from very popular side characters, only to turn around to fricking torpedo the fanbase, and to a certain extent the comic, and immediately leave forever.
Wait what? What did Red and Ayilu do, again?
Red blamed Annie for almost getting everybody killing trying to deal with Jeanne.
It's weird looking back on that chapter because the way Kat reacts makes it seem like we're not supposed to take Red seriously, but then why have an entire chapter devoted to a character b***hing out Annie if its all bullshit? and then from then on characters started to treat Annie that way totally unironically, so in retrospect it was an omen of things to come.
Because it's funny.
It's fricking amazing that we had a Kat Goes Too Far arc and it led to literally nothing other than a breakup that didn't even slightly affect Kat. Annie's even stuck dealing with the consequences more than she is.
>the Norns were pissed off that Kat was fricking around with time travel and creating/created a paradox by building the tiktok and trying to send it back in time.
At the very least I compensated with the headcanon assumption that the Original Alpha Timeline Kat probably drove herself mad dedicating her life to the time machine, and I imagine her as a bitter old woman when she finally pulls it off and confronts the Norns the first time. I held out hope we'd maybe get a glimpse of something like that from behind, even for a moment. It's sad I need to do this much imaginative work for free just to compensate for the letdowns in the story. It's like biting into a juicy meat pie and getting just air between the crust.
That wasn't an off the cuff drawing and it wasn't recent. It was for the lookbook. He went through all chapters and drew annie and kat in that chapter's outfit. He drew both annies in the few chapters that featured them.
Oh. Frick. God damn it. Piss.
It genuinely would have been fricking unfathomably based if Tom set them up together, but that's way too based for this gay b***h of an Earth. I don't think I've ever seen a fandom so universally back a selfcest ship before, that was kind of wild to see.
I want it so much, and not in a lowly base coomer urge sort of way either. It genuinely would have been an interesting psychological/science fiction concept to explore.
It can be both
Ann was like "no homo".
Omega is cute! CUTE!
What a witch!
https://files.catbox.moe/ovlukc.png
>threads are now consistently longer
Is this the power of Omega?
Speaking of imaa, I miss B1
B1 talk is verboten
That forest annie wasn't enslaved to court annie is an absolute crime
*clears throat*
Annie is dumb!
How dumb?
She is SO dumb that her mother is dead!
Wrong.
Who deserves a bullring piercing and who would get turned on from someone pulling it?
doesn't Imaa have a discord or something?
How would I know?
>Who deserves a bullring piercing
You
>and who would get turned on from someone pulling it?
Also you.
Me? But I'm just Annie!
thundersnitch abort
tl;dr imaa needs to draw a mental breakdown
The drop in quality from 29 to 32 hurts my soul
Do you guys think Omega will impulsively kiss Annie?
draw gays!
We only have two ..
Can't believe this is gonna hit 100 chapters soon.
I'm somewhat inclined to draw some Brinnie x Omega x Tony...
Yes! What do you have in mind?
Sounds hot, there's borderline no Brinnie art too.
Brinnie and Omega both living with Tony would be amazing!
Brinnie can be Annie's mom and Omega can be Annie's weird, way too personal aunt.
rn doing a sketch with no brinnie, just implied, but might add on to it
Will Omega lick Annie's face?
Will Omega lick Tony's head?
Will Omega lick Annie's member?
Can't do the colors today. Maybe tomorrow.
Now have Annie fall down those stairs
Haha, awesome!
Goddamn for an sfw image that is lewd as hell.
Omega not casually fingering Annie is a missed opportunity
those fingers are too big for Annie
Those fingers are too big for ANYONE. Look at the size of those things!
>blunderchimp snort is going to have thread overlap for the first time in 10 years
No we've had others.
We had one a few updates ago
Anyway, you jinxed it. New page isn't updating.
anons were hogging midjourney, so Tom couldn't make a new page
Tom just realised he could have the thing draw and write the comic for him, for another 10 years
Honestly, why not
not much left to lose at this point
Oh yeah baby
Don't forget to post the good ones to the Lora page
Also where the frick is todays page
Having a rough time getting on-model Annies and Kats in the same image, even with inpainting.
You really need regional prompting to do multisubject consistently
Yeah, when I get a chance I'm going to try installing Krita, don't think my card will be powerful enough for it though.
Krita is neat (and also not what I mean regional prompting) although I found it frustratingly slow to use with SDXL models even on a 4070
Okay I take that back, looks like Krita supports regional prompting now which is pretty cool
off-model just means it has soul
>blunderchimp snort
Heh, that's a good one.
You killed Tom. You killed Tom and we did nothing.
It was worth it.
>The last page of Gunnerkrigg Court was the legal hebe that's also the most important character in the comic talking about how much she wants to FRICK Tony
It's been a good run, guys. Any bets on when Tom loses custody?
wow we really did kill him
ten bux says it's a no-dialogue establishing shot page
Font Ale & Wenches, speech bubble from off camera, "Antimony put some clothes on you stupid bawd", thought bubble "Wow my dad is so cool."
We don't need him at all anymore!
Have some big fat kat tats
I thought it was a variant of that western ero-VN drawing
hah.yeah. that one.
But Flat Kat Best Kat
I admire your gumption so here are some pointers
oh look imaa's chasing another one off
Not me, and besides that, constructive criticism isn't something that artists regard as bad. I know a lot of people hate being criticized, even if it's meant to help them, but artists need criticism.
That being said,
it's not particularly good criticism. I'm sure Annie's Boobs anon appreciates it, but I don't think it will help him improve. A lot of these pointers are extremely specific and might or might not even be true, like 'line ends when it meets skin, which entirely depends on the fabric and how it's interacting with the skin (Better advice would be to draw some studies of wet t shirt contests or similar things) or 'fewer lines' for the ear, which is more of a preference than anything (Better critique would be that the ears are too high and that the temples aren't defined at all).
My advice would be to practice volumes and most importantly studies from life. Right now it's all a bit flat and body parts are placed at impossible angles.
oh look imaa's chasing another one off
>Better advice would be to draw some studies of wet t shirt contests
Yes, I would like to study that!
Thank you friend these were made while in a manic state after working two 12 hour shifts I just woke up after posting that, I will gladly take any criticism to improve.
Wow man, that's rough. Your effort to make something for the threads is appretiated.
Wow, nice. Thanks man!
Yes, look.
see you next week
friday page blows. let's stay here.
What a shit opinion. We better move to the new one.
>500 year old hag/brain in a jar gets magiced into the body of a horny teenage girl
>likes annie's dad
This is good.
Not 500 years old. Likely not even half that.
Bump
New thread here
Stop bumping.
Agreed. Let it go, anon.
