Now all he's got in the pipeline is a Guy Ritchie flick and a part in his sister's feminist Frankenstein movie. How do we bring forth the Gyllenaissance?

Dunno, they seemed fine in interviews they did together. It's probably Hugh Grant, the guy was badmouthing Wonka the minute the trailer came out. Jake comes off as autistic but Grant's a diva.

Interesting you brought that up, I was thinking he could play DOOM as well, but they've already fricked everything up baka. I wish I could get a proper adaptation of the comics not made by yisney.
I brought it up because he was up for the role and passed because the script was too Sue-centric and they didn't give him enough cash. But I still think he could be a great one-off Evil Reed who comes in and wrecks everyone's shit up. Unlikely to ever happen, because even if they thought of it, he'd outshine Pascal so much that the audience would never be able to accept "main" Reed again.

He'd be GOAT but at this point I kind of don't care because Pascal as Reed is such bad casting. He has middling charisma and I cannot buy him as a 50s/60s man at all. I'm a Med myself so it's not that he's a "heckin Latinx", he just doesn't have the face or the chops. Reed's the quintessential WASP, I will accept nothing else. The rumoured names for Doom are Ben Affleck, Jon Hamm, Josh Hartnett and the such, and all I can think of is that they'll be put against Pascal's Reed and I cannot even imagine them having any chemistry. I'm legitimately kind of hoping they bypass the Reed/Doom rivalry and focus on Doom/Strange. Cumberbatch can definitely play off any of those names.

When they made Sentry a Korean and then went back to a white dude, I went from mad to relieved. The FF cast is so bad it killed any and all interest I had in any of it. I'm just apathetic and see no point in caring now that they're ruined something they should've gotten right. This makes me think the X-Men castings will be cheap and underwhelming as well.
I still maintain that having Jake and Margot play Evil Reed & Sue from Ultimate would be the best way to salvage this Phase and it'd actually work, but it'll never happen because studios are averse to good ideas and concepts.

Exactly. It seems that nobody cares anymore. IMHO, these flicks are worse than the 00s attempts because they're both drenched in irony while having no actual merit put into them or having an identity. They're just corporate products. Fant4stic was utter trash, but the idea of doing Ultimate FF but with a focus on horror was neat. This is just Disney wanting to use the IP but not caring enough to get it right. The more I think about it, the more angry I become.
