I mean, if we're going by definition of "what the internet remembers Rugrats for", wouldn't all the best episodes be where something scary happened? The monster under the bed, the large baby who bullied Angelica, the dentist that Chuckie was afraid of, the goose that stole Grandpa's denchers. I think people even said the episode where the kid on the playground intentionally stuck gum in kids hair forcing the parents to shave their head freaked them out when they were younger cause it seemed like such an awful thing for a bully to do to you as a little kid.
How are Reptar and Helga "meme characters"? Helga is the deuteragonist to the show and I can't even think of a single time I saw a fricking Reptar meme. I agree about Hugh, but Nigel is the most memorable thing about Wild Thornberries. I mean, I would personally be fine with Donnie be included instead and I think that would've been funnier, but you can't blame them for going with Nigel instead.

I seem to remember it being Daniel Remar that pushed for her the most. That's the guy who was responsible for most of the moveset work on Slap City, but only worked on Lucy in this game as far as I know.

As the other Anon mentioned, SBSP is more akin to Super Mario. If anything, it could do with at least one more character, rounding the series' representation out with four fighters. Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and Plankton would all be good choices. Given the IP's legacy, popularity, and creativity, it is unlikely that anyone would complain about Spongebob receiving a slight bias.

Main characters are boring as frick and Smash's roster is absolutely suffocating under the monotony of default protagonists. It's great that Nick cares so little about this game that the devs can pretty much do whatever with the roster.

Putting Harley in before Joker really rubs my rhubarb the wrong way, especially since it's modern Harley, a completely aimless shell of the original concept devoid of the charm and purpose she originally had. There's little reason for her to even go by the name Harley Quinn, since she doesn't look or even act like a harlequin-themed character most of the time. Taking her away from the Joker because she's trapped in a cycle of abuse with him is a valid idea, but the point of the character is she ultimately can't escape from it. She's a satellite character who cannot stand on her own, as evidenced by how all she is now is either a member of the Birds of Prey, or Ivy's partner in crime. Both Dick Grayson and Jason Todd received their own new costumed identities when they stopped being Batman's sidekick, Robin, and it's insane to me that no one's give Harleen the same new lease on life to emerge from under the Joker's thumb and shadow in a more sustainable and transformative way. They want to have their cake and eat it too with her (inside of it).

I disagree. I think the new Harley works pretty well, especially in her show, where her codependence is the major conflict. There is no reason her character should remain static so long as where she is is developed form where she was.
That said, what annoys me is that they clearly used the new show version of Harley design wise, but for some reason tara Strong is voicing her instead of Kaley Cuoco. I mean, I don't love Kaley's voice or anything, but it feels weird to have on versions' voice come out of another version's design.
They don't have Daffy either, which blows my mind. I love Taz as much as anyone, but how are the first two Looney Tunes in any project not Bugs and Daffy by default?
From what I heard they had to do some work on Daffy’s moveset so he wouldn’t be a Bugs clone, so they took from Duck Dodgers and probably a few other places to make Daffy’s moveset so he wouldn’t be a copy of Bugs, that I do remember someone said he’s being planned on it just took a little longer because the devs didn’t want to make a copy/echo fighters in their game.
