Seems to be happening and it could be as early as October/November when they usually get out a big box set.
It's more of a rights issue deal. We didn't get the previous Godzilla set until all of the US home video rights to the Showa era films expired and Toho was able to license them all out to Criterion in bulk. IIRC the US rights to the Heisei era films are with multiple companies, several of which are actively squatting on them, making certain films impossible to find/watch.
And on the negative side Gregg Akari's Trilogy is going to be Blu-ray only.
Which pisses me the frick off because Nowhere was never released on home video in any format and since my VHS player died, I can't play the version I taped off of IFC ages ago to watch...
