Watching a lot of trans films made me sympathetic to their plight and experience. Same with black people. I'm much more empathetic and emotionally intelligent and better for it as a person.

    tons yes
some films have helped me in ways its difficult to explain

    the same with anime ect

its difficult to post examples because im one of those people that rather than obsess over the film i remember the feeling and the inspiration kek

Iv learnt some beautiful lessons from film's granted very few were directly intended

for example Click i learnt that if you dont live with your mistake's they live within you
sure you frick up you waste time ect
but living in the moment is impossible even for monk's its probably not even good for you

    so like the song says
don't look back in anger move forward in acceptance

I think some people take it straight and don't get that the humor of it comes from the 90s slacker bum archetype finding himself in the plot of a 40s film noir and reacting to its over-the-top nature realistically instead of like a contemporary Hollywood leading man

"Filtered" is just stupid reddit speak. Lebowski isn't an amazing film, it's normal to not like it that much, like all the Coen films.

i never thought that white russians were ever supposed to be "good". it was like the dude drinking chocolate milk and 40s all day. he was a bum but people seemed to automatically think he had good taste in beverages.

A lot of 90s high school movies / series tricked an entire generations of boys into thinking "nice guys" / nerds had a chance to get laid and that jocks are all just evil.
Or virtually every war movie tricks people into thinking that war is dumb and not an heroic endeavour to protect your family and homeland and to earn the respect of your peers.
The worst kinds of movies are those that change your thinking without you noticing it.

Most wars depicted in movies are israelite wars where men died for nothing and were lied to about the real reason they were there. At least in terminator or independence day humanity is fighting together for something real.

Night of the Hunter and some Clark Gable movies led to me getting a girlfriend.
There was a little gypsy girl at work who had a crush on me already but I didn't know how to talk to girls, so one day I just said frick it and slapped her ass when I walked past her then looked back and said "bawd like you ought to be getting fricked" and then turned back and walked away.
The next day she was all over me and I didn't even have to say anything, she just followed me around and rubbed on me until I went home with her and fricked her.

Some of this going tonsound stupid and sheltered:
In general, the large amount of giant monster and dinosaur movies for letting me know I am not alone in my capitvation of monsters and dinosaurs.
"Menace 2 Society" for helping me understand and show me a world of poverty and violence I never saw before. As pompous as it sounds, the movie felt like it was going 'see all this petty crap and dumb gangster stuff? this is literally what some people have to deal with every day'. It was the first movie I saw that didn't show being a gangster or being in that environment in a positive light.
"In This Corner of the World" for helping me realize how painful war is for the people living near it (not 'war is bad' but understanding how much it impacts lives beyond just the battlefield.
"Spirited Away" specifically for reminding me to take breaks and reflect on life (I watched it when I was going through a lot and that train scene forced me to relax and reflect on life in those moments).
"Haibane Renmei" for helping me to accept and appreciate both life and death.
