yeah, between season 6 and seven

6 to 7 was shit to 'this isnt even television'

I don't know if this is a moron take or not, but I'd say that season 1 is godtier, season 2 is worse than season 5, season 3 and 4 are both godtier, season 5 is meh, season 6 is godtier and season 7 and 8 is possibly the absolute worst 2 last season in show history. At the very least, even if season 2 and 5 were much worse than the other seasons up to 6, they were good ENOUGH that it didn't ruin the show up until the season 6 finale. Right out the gate in season 7, the show plummets fast and every single episode you think, "Surely this can't get any worse." and it always does.

bad take, season 6 was probably better then 5 and had some really good moments and episodes but overall is pretty boring and dumb.

Frick off you stuck up c**t, season 6 was nearly all boring filler and the couple of things that do happen make zero sense. If you legitimately enjoyed the the Essos plot you are moronic. The north plot is okay but still makes no sense. Roose Bolton wouldn't have been able to beat Stannis and if he did there is zero chance Jon would be able to, The vale saving the day is dumb. Everything that happened north of the wall was boring and pointless. kings landing was okay I guess.

Everything went to complete shit after Tywin died. Season 2 was kino. The best parts of the show was how believable and predictable things were if you paid attention to the politicking.

season 6 is one of the best seasons of the show unless you're an unironic feast/dance autist who wanted those dogshit books adapted

season 6 is where they still had just enough info from George to tell a coherent story AND where the show was so undeniably successful that DnD had unlimited money to create as much spectacle as they wanted

The Door, Battle of the Bastards and Winds of Winter are all top 10 episodes and there's still great shit throughout the rest of the season.

            >Zombie Mountain fricking shit up
            >Jaime in the Riverlands adapting his best chapters from Feast while cutting the fat
            >Olenna vs. High Sparrow
            >Bran lore flashbacks
            >Dany getting sexually harassed by the Dothraki who wants to ass rape her, then she's reborn in flames yet again
            >Lyanna Mormont is a qt badass

It's a great season. Fite me.

              >Jaime in the Riverlands adapting his best chapters from Feast while cutting the fat
Jaime's Riverrun arc in the show is about "I'll do anything to crawl back into Cersei's vegana" and character assassinates the Blackfish, his behavior in the book is the exact opposite because he's distancing himself from Cersei.
              >Bran lore flashbacks
Lol. The Tower of Joy scene in the show is godawful and gets memed on for a good a reason.
              >Lyanna Mormont is a qt badass

The tower of joy scene is so bad. Its feel like I am watching a high school drama class. Even their costumes look like they are made of plastic.

Even the good parts of season 6 are just brainless scandal that stops making sense the more you think about it. Battle of the Bastards is all spectacle and no substance, the way Essos gets tied up is a travesty, Cersei blowing up the sept is cool but shows the writers didn't know how to untie that knot other than just nuking everything, and the Arya parts with the Waif in season 6 were absolutely godawful embarrassing. S6 is better than S5 but still miles behind S1-4.

Season 2 has some really good storylines (King's Landing, Stannis, Theon, Arya in the Riverlands) and a lot of really bad ones (Robb's romance, Dany yelling at people in Qarth, Jahn Snu and Ygritte walking around beyond the wall)

Season 2 deviates quite a bit from the source material while the stuff it presents as an alternative isn't very good. Seasons 4 and 6 deviate heavily from t he source material, but the OC is actually good (inb4bookautism)

Season 6's writing was toilet tier, same as 5. It's really bad compared to the intricate plotting of the first season. Season 6 is only better than 5 because it has a lot of fan service moments, and was the season where the Starks finally started winning. The hype made people overlook the writing flaws.

How could that be... It's almost as if it was when they start having to invent something of their own instead of relying on the books.

COME WITH ME AND TAKE THIS THREAD!
They had tons of book material for the characters they didn't cut. They ignored it.
Stannis is still alive, will retake Winterfell, and it's impossible for him to burn Shireen because she's at the wall with the Queen.

Feast and Dance are unadaptable trash and Stannis will lose to the Boltons in the books. He WILL burn Shireen too, but it might be after he crawls his way back to Castle Black a defeated, broken man.

It's crazy how bad Stannis was done amongst others, it's basically a complete 180 on the character at every step. Same with Barristan, the boner for Bolton's bastard was annoying as well.
They truly were morons when it came to understanding the characters.

I stopped keeping up with watching this as it aired after season 1. When season 8 finished, I decided to binge it all. I straight up skipped season 7 since I was so burnt out and everything after season 4 was complete trash anyway. I cannot remember anything at all between the Red Wedding and Battle of the Bastards. Was Hard Home in there somewhere? That episode was kinda cool.
