Normal people don't become internet personalities.
Do we have any idea what actually went down behind the scenes?
People speculate some shit went down that caused the last episode to get cancelled and they just had to move to S2
Also no its not normal to finish a day before it airs. Most shows that do that die before the season is over or even half way

Source? I'm guessing you don't work in production. There's a bit more of a buffer for network releases (which, even then, those tend to get pushed), but the deadline for youtube animations tends to be like RIGHT before you have to have it uploaded.
No it's definitely normal but iirc there was also some legal drama with this episode, something about the musica video she animated.
It's an indie production and yes, rendering up until zero hour is common. Rendering takes ages and if you catch something as it's going you have to stop it, fix it, and start the whole thing over again. Earlier is obviously better, but its not abnormal to have files uploaded to wherever they need to go with only minutes to spare. It's not necessarily on her either. No matter how many warnings all the people on productions get, they'll find a way to wait until the very last minute to "realize" that their name was spelled incorrectly in the draft version of the credits or they accidentally sent the wrong file version of their shot and "hey, so sorry about this, but if it's not too late..."
Animation takes a long fricking time to make. A year for a single episode is not crazy and for an indie studio that is simultaneously working on a network show, it's pretty damn impressive.
Here's the breakdown:
- Animation costs more than most of /co thinks
- Animation takes a lot longer than most of /co thinks
- More people are involved in a production than most of /co thinks
South Park does it, but that's just in their nature.
I want to see Keenie's big fat sheep boobies!
oh God please
This is such a joke. I sure hope nothing significant happened in the season finale since we're skipping right the frick over it.
I doubt it given the track record of status quo shattering season finales in cartoons these days
They said that most of the important stuff happened in the penultimate episode. The last one was more of a wind down. I wonder if there was some music they used and synced a bunch of shit to that they suddenly weren't able to use. A lot of stuff that seems like it's in the public domain gets fiddly once it's broadcast internationally.

Wait so Blitzo and Stolas breaking up was the most significant event of the finale? Boy I do not have high hopes.
it doesn't matter. The people who are the most upset over this are the same people who want to hate it anyway. You would have been pissed whether it came out or not.
That's how Rick and Morty does it.
Nice attempt to dunk on Viv, but you clearly have no idea what deadlines are like in animation. The last minute panic scramble is real. There's a reason showrunners tend to take a nice long multi-year break once their show finally ends.
In Japan, probably.
Work does not progress linearly on a series. You write, score, and animate in batches.
Nah it's pretty normal. It's rendering anyway.
