I went on a date a few weeks ago with a woman who was really pretty and had the same taste in movies as me (which is what "good taste" means on this board), right down to my love of B-movie trash. We had a great conversation about our favorite films and directors. Naturally she ghosted me after. I like to think that one day I'll understand women.

Yeah I think it's easy for people on dating apps to treat others as disposable. We actually kept texting for a few days after the date before she ghosted me, so she probably just matched with someone more attractive. So many people don't seem to mind being on those apps for months always looking for something better instead of exploring a connection when you finally find it. But this isn't the thread for that.

Ghosting has to be the lowest form of human behavior. At least have the courtesy to say it's not gonna work out. Simply not replying to messages is just plain rude.

Women will claim they have to ghost men because they are scared of being murdered for telling them no. That has been their latest means of shaming men for a while, to claim they are always afraid for their lives because they are always being le murdered by le men. It's where the bear vs man thing came from. If you actually know anything about women you'll understand almost none of them are scared of men.

Yeah its super shitty when it spills out from online dating and into real-world interpersonal relationships since its the norm. My shitty zoomer younger sister completely ghosted my parents like a year ago just because she didn't feel like visiting or talking to them anymore. Feminists think it's good that women cut off "emotionally abusive or manipulative" parents. They especially encourage being defiant and confrontational with parents, and especially fathers. No matter what their biological family or a man does for them women owe them absolutely nothing and have every right to cut off people the moment they aren't getting the exact 100% perfect relationship they are comfortable with.

I'm telling you in no uncertain terms this is absolutely what women are being increasingly told by our culture to do with everyone around them, not just men who pursue them. The moment anyone doesn't validate you or make you feel exactly how you want, cut them off, you owe them nothing no matter what they did for you. It's a really anti-social way of trying to socialize women who have always been better than men when it comes to providing childcare or eldercare do to a sense of moral obligation and not just fricking off and becoming recluses. Women don't owe you (or anyone) pretty, or a smile, or a thank you unless they enthusiastically want to give it. But society does owe them healthcare, childcare, education, a job, job training, housing, utilities . . . I remember years ago there was some limited attempt to encourage parents to stop asking kids to hug or kiss their grandparents and other family because it was part of "rape culture" and didn't teach little girls to value consent and bodily autonomy.

Women should be conditioned to be agreeable, polite, and kind (in accordance with their nature). Men should be conditioned to be kind to women and not take advantage of their agreeableness. A lot of this boils down to this weird belief that almost all women are in constant danger of being pushed into sex they don't want, not even rape, just "pressured" into sex they aren't super enthusiastic about so we need to make them really hostile and defiant.

It is indeed a weird profession to choose for a man. Historically they were women for a reason. It is honestly the place of women to teach very young children, men should teach when they're older. I only have good memories of female teachers. None of the males knew how to interact with children that aren't their own very well. It is not in our nature.

Its strange how being a shit person is essentially encouraged now. I would be considered an elder millennial, and ghosting family members was very uncommon when I was a kid. Even if people didnt get along, there generally wasnt no-contact. There were some cases of it but there was usually a fairly good reason for it. Like if you your uncle didnt come to Christmas there was a significant reason for it.

By disordered types, it was/is used to frick with the receiver's head. Most do it now, because they're socially awkward, but it has the same effect. Now it's become a standard thing, people who have been hurt before are naturally becoming crueler. And will do it to deliberately frick with someone as a misguided form of revenge. So it's starting to loop back around to being done a lot more intentionally. Pic related.

The problem now is, as typical of an industry slowly being infested with mentally ill professionals, some psychologists are trying to teach that you should try to understand and feel empathy for the ghoster. Funny stuff. My advice: let it go.

This. Natural female taste is comfort movies. Children's/romance movies that make them feel good, that they rewatch periodically. They aren't inspired/intrigued/challenged by movies like men are and don't seek those kinds of movies out. They look to men for cues on what's "good" or "groundbreaking" in other genres and flock to it superficially.

She was also 100% undiagnosed autistic and had no control whatsoever over her emotions. Extremely toxic/manipulative and probably the single person who has done the most damage to my life and long term mental health. But she liked good media and had an amazing ass, so I kept coming back.

Most women with interesting indoor hobbies like film, reading, games, are autistic. They have these interests because they have no other choice but to be indoor people. Other extroverted women want nothing to do with them. I'm not being a dick, that's just the truth.

I got in a fight with an ex over this
She was becoming more and more distant, and even outright asked for more space so I just did my thing and got ready for the breakup, which she did eventually drop on me. Afterwards she asked to hang out regularly but after a few months even that stopped and she revealed she had been dating someone else since just a month after we broke up.
Finally Luke half a year later she asked what happened and I told her "you became more and more distant then dumped me." She got offended and said something along the lines of "Yeah but you didn't chase after me, even after we broke up, and that hurt."
Since at that point I had nothing to lose I went fricking off on her, and told her outright that to expect me to beg for her back after she had spent months making it apparent she wasn't interested in me was incredibly insulting not only to me but to her own desires and autonomy.
If a woman tells you to respect her word then simultaneously expects you to fight her to break her word then that's just a manipulative c**t who wants to have her cake and eat it too.

Just something along the lines of "yeah... anyway I have to get going"
Granted, she was grabbing her last few belongings out of our apartment before literally going to a psych ward later that day, so I didn't expect the best answer at that point. Haven't spoken to her since.

She was dating, flirting, or even fricking that guy when you were together. Trust me. I'm not trying to make you mad, that's just how those types of women roll.

I believe it. I'm 99% sure she fricked an entirely separate guy we both know a couple months before we broke up.
I confronted her about this shit but things were already going downhill fast.

Every female review of a classic piece of cinema or literature will be along the lines of, "This would have been 10/10 but it's way too long and the female characters were not written to my 2024 Girl Boss standards, bringing it down to 2/10."

At some point the conception of an ideal relationship meant that your wife wasn't just your wife, she had to be your 24/7 ultimate best friend, sole companion, and always willing erotic sex partner. It's even worse now that nobody has any friends. All of this gets piled onto the other person immediately in any relationship. No wonder everyone is resentful. Their partners (victims) can't fulfill all of their needs at once, nor can they do the same for their partner. So everyone goes around thinking they aren't good enough and nobody else is either.

At birth there are about 105 males born for every 100 females. So, about 0.487% of newborns are female. Higher male death rates (starting with higher infant mortality) even things out so that between 30 and 50 most western societies are 50-50 male/female and then majority female over 50. If you think about all the men who are moronic, in prison, in the military, and gay (relative to how few women are mentally disabled, in prison, the military or actually lesbians) there probably should be more single men under 30 and 40 than women but there aren't. Why? Are there just a huge number of women who are single and content being single?

Imagine fricking so many dozens of dozens dudes, that you can divide the number of dudes up by what month they were born and you notice slightly more (like 2 or 3 more) bad ones in the leo and scorpio month and extrapolate a meaningful pattern.

Women aren't that smart to analyze such a large dataset for patterns. More than likely she had an ex who was a Scorpio and another ex who was a Leo, and she knows they watch her TikToks which is why she included those specifics to be petty.

She's right, movies are meant to entertain. If you can't be entertaining while making your point then I can just read a book or look up the subject matter myself and get a more comprehensive overview than I can from your shitty boring movie. If you're going to make a movie you have an obligation to entertain your audience.

    >if you meet a girl and she likes things that are "unusual" for a women to like, like classic films, obscure music, or traditionally male hobbies, its because her ex-boyfriend liked those things.
So if you're dating a woman based on how well her hobbies are aligned with yours, you're actually just looking for a woman who's ex-boyfriend had interests similar to yours.

I think most guys learn it themselves through experience. When I got my first girlfriend at 17, she starting liking all the things I liked. I thought it was kind of cringe and annoying, but over the years EVERY women I became involved with did that. I guess guys don't really talk about it because its "sexist."
