I disagree, there tends to be specific beats that exist in like 90% of media that can absolutely be characterized and categorized and to deny such is hipster brain melt from worrying of being "cringe"
Tropes exist but cataloging and categorizing them all essentially reduces storytelling to a lego set where you click a bunch of blocks together to make a story.
But that's all Hollywood writing is at this point, building blocks that get used over and over again to tell stories.
Modern media IS a lego set at this point.
