Well, that's kinda my point. Nobody makes movies romanticizing garbage collectors or grocery story stockers or whatever. But there's this huge cultural effort to keep alive the idea of the military as something special and important when it's really just another shitty make-work job, even shittier than the rest of them because you stand a good chance of getting blown up.

Technically I think the most dangerous job in the world is something like President of the United States. I think a good 10% or so have actually died on the job. Even Trump has had multiple attempts on his life, one guy was caught stealing a forklift he was going to use to kill the president with while he was in the beast.

There is a swimming portion you need to complete to get GAFPB. Watched many nogs sign up to get it, full well knowing they have to swim.Test day comes, nogs jump in pool, instantly flail and almost drown, saved by lifeguard. Seriously why sign up for something you know you cant do?
I saw a kid drown right next to me when he had flak jackets and helmets on floating on our backs. Guy hit the alarm and cleared out the pool. I honestly don't know if he lived or died. He was white btw. But yes all the nogs sank.
