I think he's one of those self-hating white guys.
Which at this point is kind of a redundant term since so many of them are like this.

The joke is that ai is exceptionally racist and sexist so the author is too moronic to realize in an ai uprising, it won't be genociding all humans, just the dickless and non white ones.

Pro tip: your comic is only funny if you don't need to add a footnote to make it funny

I remember when a lot webcomics would that shit where the text that pops up when you hover over the strip is like an extra "joke"

Didn't the more recent Squirrel Girl comics write stuff like that at the bottom of every page?

      >Pro tip: your comic is only funny if you don't need to add a footnote to make it funny
Person 2's dialogue gives it away, but sometimes the text re-contextualizes the panel, making it a joke.

$10 the author complained in public about Apple's sweatshops, had it pointed out that they don't NEED to treat their workers better because she buys their shit anyway despite her complaints, then wrote this as a passive-aggressive "comeback" she knew the guy she was directing it at would never read.

I believe, if I'm remembering this right, this guy quit comics I think 2 yearsish ago when he kept getting criticized for his comics in general and his comics about the pandemic. Spoilers, he's pro lockdowns.

That's odd, somebody relying on embarrassing hyperbole to cover up for questionable self-serving morals as implied here [...] would be more believable as anti-lockdown

Yeah, his name is Matt Bors. Read his other stuff. He's aggressively anti-right.

Lockdowns happen because people don't understand the concept of "If there is disease there, stay out. If there is disease here, stay in". This concept is so old it's mentioned in the koran.

Wow, I literally can't believe somebody unironically think they are on the same level with that, as if there were no alternatives to the Iphone.

I don't want to engage, but it just blows my mind how much some people can lack self awareness, and this from somebody that frequents Cinemaphile.

Is that true? About AIs not recognizing women as human? Because that in itself is funnier than the comic making fun of it.

      Anonymous

We don't have AGI yet. Currently it's more like:
      >can't recognize some old or ugly women as females
      >more likely to tag photos of women as sexually suggestive than equivalent photos of men
      >men get better medical diagnoses regarding certain diseases because of gaps in the training data for women
      Stuff like that.

This guy is great because 1:1 without even a single deviation he assigns morality to race and gender and assigns race and gender to morality. His smartest person here is as always a POC women scientist, and here you see a middle rung he reserved exclusively for white women and white women scientists, the naive but asking questions and needing to be schooled by the black woman scientist. POC men scientists are higher than white women, and are used mostly for setting up a POC woman scientist to school everyone. White men of course are lowest and reserved exclusively for asking stupid questions and sharing bigotry for the black woman to knock down. The artist is extremely loyal to this race hierarchy

This is the mindset that pseudo-progressivism--aka "woke"--has cultivated. It's scarily backwards and even more scary how so many people don't see or care how backwards it is.

If he really does that, which I doubt, it would be exceptionally biased towards including many more minorities than would be statistically accurate. So it's also biased and he would be quite stupid to think it isn't.
