>Helluvaboss is about a group of hitmen that kill people on Earth at the request of those in hell
this gets dropped on the second episode to focus on gay drama instead
>Hazbin Hotel is about the princess of hell trying to rehabilitate sinners so heaven stops genociding hell every month
this gets dropped on the second episode to focus on gay drama instead
pretty much why I was never able to watch more than 5 minutes of this slop
gonna be honest, thought this was the same show. literally looks like it.
They're made by the same person and they take place in the same universe. They're inevitably gonna look similar.
wait what?
I've not been paying attention, what the frick, why does she get two shows about the same thing?
what the shit
Why not, Michael Cusack has two shows basically about the same thing as well as a third show
She made pilot episodes for both series as independent animation. One of these series is being released on Youtube for free; the other one got a streaming deal with Netflix.
I'm not entirely sure how she managed to gather a crew of animators and other talents to work on her projects. I suppose she has enough connections and money to pull it off.
>Youtube for free; the other one got a streaming deal with Netflix.
Should be easy to download then if worth the watch.
That die young video gave her an insane amount of influence in the indie animation community. She also went to animation school so she had contacts through that as well.
it really feels like two different settings like the helluva boss designs are better for me compared with hazbin
there is a lot of clash between styles
>it really feels like two different settings
Guy you're replying to here: Yeah, that's a part of why I assumed they were two shows competing, not made by the same single creator. I knew vaguely that one of them got a YT pilot then went quiet for years, so I assumed that in the time that it took one to emerge, someone else said "Hey the hot topic grrl niche is open with today's teens, I can do that" and made something similar.
I'm not surprised that one creator has made two shows.
I'm surprised that one creator has made two shows, simultaneously, that are doing two takes on the same concept.
Gee vivzie, two weiners?
This will probably be Stonetoss' legacy. Solid meme template with a good punchline. He's like changed his name because he got in trouble for going full mask off about being a Nazi. Now he's another of the many. He was more fun when he had plausible deniability.
>he got in trouble for going full mask off about being a Nazi
Source?
Oh, you didn't hear about [name that is banned on Cinemaphile] getting in trouble?
>videogames?
>ATHF is about a group of food detectives who solve mysteries and fight crime
this gets dropped on the fourth episode to focus on New Jersey drama instead
Actually this has a behind the scenes reason as they only used the detective stuff to get the show greenlit. HH and HB is just Vivzie giving up on plot to make more porn
and that "porn" sells well so the problem is?
>Actually this has a behind the scenes reason as they only used the detective stuff to get the show greenlit.
I didn't know that, that's fun.
>helluva boss is about blitzo aka hell of a boss
this stay until this time , is a character base show
>Hazbin Hotel is about the princess of hell trying to rehabilitate sinners so heaven stops genociding hell every month
this plot unironically gets destroyed in the first episode so they need to fight heaven to even be possible
> In the opening narration Charlie mentions that the overpopulation narrative is just a pretense for mindless ultraviolence
> Later in the episode she is shocked upon learning that the overpopulation narrative is just a pretense for mindless ultraviolence
> Over the rest of the season just ignores the fact that her rehabilitation plan was thoroughly rejected only trying to address the problem at the last possible second
Who the frick wrote this shit?
How does one manage to mangle their core premise within the first episode?
not even the first episode but the first minutes kills the extermination concept that was good in the pilot
Yeah, if in the pilot the extermination was already dumb, but here, it actually gets dumber because it justifies the angels wanting to stop a possible unholly uprising from happening, but then it gets you to ask, why don't they just throw a Sin Purificator Holly Hyper Nuke, recollect the souls that now are pure from sin and just be done with it?
>> In the opening narration Charlie mentions that the overpopulation narrative is just a pretense for mindless ultraviolence
What? She never accuses the population control of being an excuse for wanton violence in the opening narrative, she just calls it's cruel and unfair
I heard these two shows are supposed to take place in wildly different points in time in universe, is that true?
In the background of one scene in HB there's the name of one of the main Hazbin characters spray painted on the wall, so I think they're supposed to be contemporary with each other
There have been small nods to each other. In the HB pilot (no longer canon) you can see Charlie's Song from the HH pilot (which is semi-canon to the series). In episode 2 of HB (Canon) Robo-Fiz references Charlie's Song from the HH Pilot. Meanwhile in HH the VVVs have Robo-Fiz servants (they are however highly customized compared to the ones that Mam was showing off in HB, could be they are custom models, however if HH happens in the "future" they would be "old models" since Fiz stops working for Mam, though Mam could just be selling old merch anyway.
You made up an autistic idea in your head that the show 'must be only about' this thing you saw in an episode. You expect everyone else to play around with your delusion. We had this discussion again and again. You are not saying anything anyone hasn't already heard and decided how they feel about.
Get a fricking life.
Sick dodge, but it's obvious the point is how the replacement sucks.
>this gets dropped on the second episode to focus on gay drama instead
But that's not true. The second episode was about the Vees and Alastor coming back to threaten their rule. There's a brief 3 minute moment of gay drama with Angel Dust feeling sorry for himself, but the main focus is on Alastor.
The rule of butthurt anons on Cinemaphile, when it comes to gay stuff, is "Any show that contains any gay stuff whatsoever, no matter how briefly mentioned, will be dishonestly described as focusing on the gay stuff to the detriment of other plot elements"
Hazbin Hotel didnt drop that plot at all
Hazbin's first season just feels like they crammed the plotlines of the real first 2 seasons together. Like season 1 was supposed to be hotel stuff escalating into season 2 with Hell vs Heaven stuff, but the show's only getting like 16 confirmed episodes, maybe 24 episodes max, at 22 minutes each, so they consolidated. I can see how the story we got would come about with the basic initial premise, it just feels premature.
Helluva veered off a cliff though. The supposed premise isn't actually the premise, it's just the setting.
That's just woman writing.
When men write, they come up with a cool concept and attempt to flesh it out and exploit it as much as they can. When women write, they come up with a cool concept, but almost always turn it into basically relationshit drama. Men want something coherent and consistent, women just want emotion setpieces.
is about a group of hitmen that kill people on Earth at the request of those in hell
>this gets dropped
It doesn't. It was still an important plot point in the last episode. Get your facts right when you complain about something.
It feels like they only bother to revisit it when they run out of topics to fuel the gay love drama shit, and even then most of their escapades on Earth seem to be just making about making fuel for the fans to fawn over in regards to the literal gay love schlock than to do anything fun with it. At least, that's how it felt trying to slog through the first season and most of the second, so if they got their act together I'd be shocked.
An important plotpoint the same way any other macguffin is.
>They need teh premise book to so let's write all of the fujo bromance around that again
Are you guys still butthurt about HH being a huge hit?
You were dropped two years in because your parents divorced
what gay relationship in Helluva Boss ?
>a show about gay people in hell
what's the problem?
Because, Chud, sinners are actually the good guys and angels are evil!
that's more of a comment on capitalism than gay stuff
Wha??? Fill me in on this yaoi porn surrogate's philosophy rq
Lute gets demon dicks
ok gpt
Loved Hazbin Hotel, marathoned it with my wife on Sunday night.
I really hope they do a season 2 I need more Charlie and Alastar on my tv
>best pairing that everyone wants
>creator hates it
I mean they already tried to stop the shipping by making Alastar Ace. Doesn't mean it's gonna stop though even people that don't normally find cartoons hot think Alastar is.
tumblroids will simultaneously headcanon every character as every orientation, saying "I'm the creator and it's canon that shmebulock is ultra gay" won't stop people drawing him piping a hot gnomish load into giffany.
>creator hates it
I still firmly believe that Viv intended for Charlie and Alastor.
The only reason Charlie is a lesbian with Vaggie is a crewmember when working on the pilot said “wouldn’t these two make a cute couple?” And Viv ran with it realizing dykeing them up gets more brownie points.
you'd be wrong then, there's a lot of old art by viv of them together.
>I still firmly believe that HEADCANON
Oh you ship trannies are so fricking pathetic lmao
reminds me of when people said liking adam would have vivzie seething because he was le problematic until she said he was one of her favorite characters kek
Actually, I remember it being the other way around on here. People hated Adam at first (and given this crap dialogue that was leaked, who could blame them) because she was stated to be one of her favorite characters.
maybe you came in later than i did? there were definitely threads with the attitude i described, people demanded proof that vivzie liked him.
*he was stated
People hated the Adam concept because he sounded like (and ultimately was) an obnoxious strawman. He's just more charismatic in practice than he is in concept, in no small part thanks to his VA carrying his still objectively terrible dialog.
people hated him when the pitch bible leaked, there was the usual squawking about vivzie 'demonizing men'
people loved him when the show came out and he was actually an entertaining character
Which is funny, as Adam still really sucks. He is a one note strawman and a bastardization of his namesake.
>He is a one note strawman
redemptions are so common now that a villain who's a cool butthole, perfectly morally mirrors the protagonist, then dies at the end is honestly original
They just need to stick the landing and make Vox, Val, and Velvette gangrape Alastor
Feet
He dies like a fricking joke, are you kidding me?
just like the pervert snake lmao
Pentious? He wasn't a pervert. He was the only non-degenerate in the whole cast.
Everyone's gonna lose their minds when Alastor cashes on on his "little favor" and asks for her hand in marriage so that he can take over as the King of Hell when he gets Lucifer out of the way. And it'll be some loophole where even though Vaggie is hurt Alastor clarifies that Charlie wouldn't technically, physically, harm anyone. (And then he'll get his comeuppance at some point and be redeemed idk or maybe he's part of the backstory of the Root of All Evil character. In Vivzie's old Zoophobia comic ideas, Alastor and her character KayCee were a couple, as two chaotic entities)
God I wish. Only way it'd happen though is if their marriage is temporary and he gets kicked to the curb again sometime, but Charlie doesn't hold anything against him.
I like the idea from a narrative perspective, but I don't know if Viv would let it happen. She's very explicitly made them queer and shut down even the semblance of anything between the two. I think even a phony sham marriage would be out of bounds.
Self-insert ships are the most sad and pathetic.
hates it
I can't prove it now because Musk hid likes on X, but there was some Charlastor fanart in her likes tab
Does she hate it though. Thought her views on it have mellowed out.
>best pairing that everyone wants
lucifer x alastor?
nope. the classic that's been here for years.
>the classic that's been here for years.
alastor x angel dust?
No, Alastor and Angel Dust didn't dance together in the Pilot, and they didn't get any ship bait moments alone together in Season 1.
>ep 1
>hired to do a kill
>ep 2
>hired to protect a vip
>ep 3
>hired to do a bunch of killings to win a competition over a parking space
>ep 4
>hired to kill some old moron
Stop lying. It falls off at ep 5.
Good
Your mc? BLAKCED
When was the last time Helluva’s cast killed someone on earth
The last episode lmao
Before the last episode
unhappy campers
S2E7 is unironically filler
>S2E7 is unironically filler
Nah, from what we've seen in the trailer ozzy is going to be in trouble for his public stunt once satan and mammon talk.
It strikes me that Viv never planned on keeping Helluva Boss as it was first presented. Someone post the greentext
Yk which one
There ya go, good buddy!
>That unsolicited opinion by a self-admitted schizo
Okay, he may be crazy but he's right
Schizophrenics can be right sometimes.
You mean the mentally ill guy Cinemaphile groomed into killing himself?
Yes. Schizos by their very nature are going to be wrong MOST of the time, but that isn't the same as ALL of the time. Broken clocks and all that.
Even a broken clock is correct every 12 hours.
i've seen theories about that for undertale too. i don't think i'd care about it if it wasnt fanfictiony cringe.
You get the funny hitman in cherub yet people hated that episode
Sounds to me that dude HEADCANON turn out false and he is crying about it
Even the pilot was about character relationships and no being a hitman at all
If your referring to the CHERUB episode from back in Season 1, IIRC, that episode was disliked because it was trying to do many things at once and was really rushed.
I personally like that episode though.
Not greentext, but it works
Short Term Win always end up in Long Term Loses, ALWAYS!
im speculating here, but i think the whole "redeeming demons in your hotel" premise was just a holdover from the pilot, that plot point should have been dropped from the start of the actual show, because basically none of the other 10 fricking plotlines in HH is practically incompatible with that
also, to add, why do the demons need to be redeemed so they can get to heaven? from what we have seen, they are just as obnoxious and degenerate, if not more than the people in hell, I guess so people no longer have to worry about the getting killed in mass exterminations part
but also, how the frick can people in hell somehow still die?, do they just disappear?, do they get sent into a deeper layer its nine circles?, WHAT THE FRICK ARE RULES OF THIS WORLD
this story is just a mess
Do your due research, go to the wiki, read, aka. Lurk moar. Clearly haven't seen the series. So if you ever really intend to enlighten yourself in the topic, instead of sharing a vapid and incorrect opinion based on second / third hand knowledge, do your due diligence and save yourself being titled a "chudlet"
because thats Charlie whim she never explained why is better to have sinners in heaven
is just because of plot
>she never explained why is better to have sinners in heaven
wut
it's hell. this should not be the part of the premise you are having issues with
>from what we have seen, they are just as obnoxious and degenerate, if not more than the people in hell
Lolno. The worst you'll generally find in heaven is callousness, and in the absolute worst case you have Adam's violence against a group of souls that by definition of hell are terrible anyway. And even then, Adam isn't enslaving anyone and pimping them out. In heaven OR hell.
>they are just as obnoxious and degenerate
no , they are literally just like the goetia aka rich people that don't give a shit about anything because their life is solved
>how the frick can people in hell somehow still die?, do they just disappear?
Sinners can't die except by angelic weaponry; hellborn beings cease to exist if they are mortally wounded
Let's be fair, Adam shouldn't have been written as an strawman one note evil caricature villain, but more like a guide/mentor to Charlie.
One that is technically on her side, but isn't afraid to give her the business and to basically tell her -NO, Little Miss AntiChrist, a simple sorry ain't enough for me to tell Pete to open the Pearly Gates, Okay?!-
Still, he actually wants to help her to put the sinners in line(with him even throwing hands with some Overlord or two, why not?) and teach her how to redeem them the right way (having to employ Saint Level Patience, for some comedic effect) , at least according to the Ten Commandment and the Seven Heavenly Virtues including also Concord and Sobriety
You know, all of the shit that Alastor and Lucifer aren't doing, just being there for the Tumblrites b***hes!
But NOPE, these people don't want mansplaining and someone to actually tell them there is other ways of life that isn't toxic and self destructive, so there you go, this is where we are
I can still imagine the funny hitmen adventures in my mind. She cant take that away from me no matter how hard she tries. Shes powerless against my brain.
Imagine if the Sinsmas is them helping Saint Nick voiced by Stephan Weyte(and looking a lot like Dusk Dude from Dusk) to hunt Krampus, who has gone rogue and wants to eat good children instead of just punishing the naughty ones with birch rods.
The Sinsmas episode i mean, sorry
So are these two shows in the same universe?
Same time period?
Is one a prequel and the other a sequel?
Do they take place at the same time?
Vivzie just uses the elevator pitches to trick studio execs into giving her buy in. Then once they get popular she immediately switches gears to her fujo fanfiction.
Can someone please tell me what Emily The Strange is? I heard someone bring it up in these threads.
Goth girl character from the 00s with a comic, and a fashion line, almost had a movie made of her (and incorrectly accused of plagiarism by uncreative boring people who don't get how art works)
Anon, tell me what you think could be the biggest and best(and realistic) plot twist Hazbin Hotel could do
turning itself into a competent show.
alternatively make it so that alastor cucks lucifer and charlie and starts getting people to redeem themselves by being an absolute bastard. Sure this dynamic is shared sort of between vaggie and charlie but vaggie is an eternal wet-blanket of depression that drags down every scene she's in.
in the final episode of the series, when every fricking character including sera, emily, lute, etc turned against the godhead, they all stand before the gate or whereever he is, and then michael gets shown for like a few seconds descending down onto them and ending the series sopranos style. Like imagine
>they start singing about some gay "forgiveness and redemption is good and because God is against it hes evil" song, all dancing and happy and hopeful and shit
>Michael, not drawn in vivs artstyle but essentially copied straight out of a rennaissance painting flies down with his spear in his arms
>right before the song hits the crescendo, everything turns white/black/whatever and credits get shown after a few seconds
you canNOT tell me that woulnt be the most kino ending by far
That'd honestly would be hilarious and the best ending ever.
>Its not supposed to be funny
Vaggie dies
Lucifer dying so Charlie gets a power up
>Charlie's real mother is revealed to actually be Eve.
>God is absent, angels are trying their best to run the show.
>Alastor loves Charlie in his own weird way, dies, and she gets a power up.
>Adam returns as a sinner.
>Emily falls from Heaven and becomes Charlie 2.0
God comes back and He’s actually good and wholeheartedly agrees with redemption and even forgives Lucifer for his whoopsie creating evil
It would be the most unexpected thing in this show.
>It would be the most unexpected thing in this show.
Not really, its very easy to play that as a joke where he's only around for 10 minutes and everything returns to exactly how it was after he leaves again
out of everyone who replied to me this will 100% happen. Nowadays, when people defend christianity, they do it by commiting heresy, aka twisting Gods word in favor of their message. For example Jesuss "love thy neighbour" is used by gays to discredit christians who hate them. This, of course, doesnt mean shit, when God hates sodomy and disallows sleeping with men in the bible.
It wouldn't be the biggest, but I think it'd be entertaining
>Start of Season 2
>Opening song about how they're gonna do it this time and turn things around
>Knock on the door at the end of the song
>It opens, revealing Demon Adam who just becomes a squatter at the hotel
Which would tie into another plot twist IMO
>Adam is eventually revealed to be an actual agent of God to guide humanity to heaven
>He just isn't allowed to say anything so no one else knows
is that you matpat?
forgot to mention
>Vaggie has a villainy arc and joins the V's
Neither of these shows have any sort of legacy or community anymore and I find that really sad and really hilarious.
The only legacy of either of these shows is Loona's popularity.
Kind of like Krystal.
Not true we got STAIRFAX TEMPERATURES out of it too
Loona has always been more popular than the actual show. The creators know it too.
This was a joke from the third episode.
>any sort of legacy or community anymore
joke post?
only Charlastor is worthy of being loved and remembered.
We had like multiple bump limit breaking threads on the latest HB episode, and mods had to hiatus-ban Hazbin threads on Cinemaphile because people kept making too many of them
Makes me wonder how HH/HB will be seen in 10 years from now.
My main issue with Hazbin is that it seems to want to trick you into thinking that Hell is like our typical conceptions of Hell with the eternal damnation and all so that we feel bad for the sinners, sympathize with Charlie and her goals and overall add a sense of urgency to the whole thing about redemption. And, at the same time, the show never really does depict Hell in any overly negative light. The only two bad things about Hell are some of the overlords; the Vs specifically (and Carmilla), and the extermination, which is not a fault of Hell in the first place. So, why is Heaven even a goal? I suppose the final lesson of the show will be that Heaven was never really a goal in the first place and that you should stop trying to conform your behavior to the whims of literal gatekeepers in some hamfisted religious allegory. And still, the show works against itself even here, Pentious gets redeemed and it is treated as a big deal, Heaven is shown mostly in a positive light since most of its residents dont know about the extermination, and there is a very clear divide between the kind of people who go to Heaven and the ones who go to Hell. The show wants to have its cake and eat it too, constantly telling us how bad hell is but never really showing it (No having cannibals onscreen and other assorted buttholes isnt enough, most of what happens in hell wouldnt be out of place in major american cities. At one point the cast just goes clubbing for a good time, in hell). If Charlie really wanted to improve the lives of her people, all she really had to do is just knock some of the overlords off their positions of power and life in hell would improve tenfold. There is also this kind of dissonance where the show clearly picks favourites since Adam is portrayed as a massive butthole and Carmilla, a weapons dealer and probably responsible for most of the awful shit that goes on in hell, gets portrayed as sympathetic.
Carmilla sticks out pretty badly, I agree. She's got LOTS of blood on her hands, but that gets ignored.
Viv says Satan will be closer of what a demon is so can't wait to see if the dude delivers
idk i just wanted to post this oc of mine who is heavily inspired by stolas lol
Qt hoot
cute el Hermano de Stolas
Hazbin > Helluva Boss. The HB pilot was funny and then it turned into the Gay Imp and Owl show. Hazbin still held up.
Welcome to the modern world of writing. As if it wasn't obvious it was shit from just looking at it.
Watch the video "The 7 Deadly Sins of Writing."
As a writer myself with some history as a pro, I can't stand this utter shlock.
>As a writer myself with some history as a pro,
Any examples?
That video is unironically a good explanation of how convoluted the plot of hazbin is and the story too
It really feels like it wanted to be a lot of thing at 8 episodes only. Pacing be dammed
What do you expect from Vivzie?
I'm only a few episodes into Helluva Boss and it seems to be staying on point. I don't even know what you are talking about in regards to Hazbin Hotel.
The entire season is about trying to get the Hotel going and trying to get Heaven to work with it while attempting to stop the yearly genocide.
Do you just hate that the shows set in hell are filled with queer characters?
I really don't even see what you are complaining about OP, maybe you are just hyper fixated on gay shit?
POST M&M
I went threw all of HOaB and i actually forgot it's suppose to be about hitmen...like completely. I just remember all the gay shit and Blitz reconciling witht the other gay robot Imp...Holy shit. OP's post is accurate. Havent seen Hazbin
>Watch flash animation made by and for mentally ill teenage girls that like seeing men kiss and smooch
>It becomes men kissing and smooching and drama
>HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN!?
Let me guess, you also watched Space King and got upset the jokes where crass and infantile?
