Peach's movie
How, retard?
Mario is the second biggest character on that poster?
It's a great poster. Colorful and nice to look at.
I want to fuck that Koopa
Panda, please
No Wendy, no go.
Settle down peach
The sexiest CGI male reptile since Smaug (2013).
The more I see the less I like it, anyone else feels this?
Yeah I'm not a fan of these "avengers-esque" movie posters that every movie does now
Kinda random to feature a random winged koopa.
His design is based on the blue shell. He's probably a commander or something
He's probably a commander of sorts who will be Bowser's punching bag for comedy purposes.
Nintendo/Miyamoto probably didn't let Illumination deviate from the standard design to avoid turning Toads into Minion/Rabbid-like vermin.
>will be Bowser's punching bag for comedy purposes.
That's usually Kameks role
Bowser has two fists, he can punch the new Koopa and Kamek at the same time.
The Koopa could be a villain that changes sides and becomes Peach's ally.
Makes sense, just odd to have him there instead of another caster character like Cranky or Foreman Spike.
(unless the koopa is Martinet's secret role :/)
Pretty sure Spike will have like 5 minutes of screen time in the opening before they go to mushroom Kingdom, he's obviously not following Mario and Luigi there.
>Cinemaphile was right for once about the Nintendo mandate
I find Peach in the movie pretty ugly and uninspired, this poster is probably the only time she looks good in that illumination artstyle
Reminds me when Super Princess Peach had Army Hammer Bro:
https://www.mariowiki.com/Army_Hammer_Bro
He was an elite Hammer Bro, was the penultimate boss before Bowser and is seen in the artwork tying up Mario.
I'm gonna take a guess that Kamek + Bowser are primarily dealing with the Mario situation, and the Blue-Shelled Koopa is Luigi's "villain". Probably has to keep an eye on Luigi while he's captured, then when he escapes, that becomes Luigi's primary threat to deal as the Koopa tries to recapture him.
>the Blue-Shelled Koopa is Luigi's "villain".
I will take back any bad thing I've ever thought or said about the movie if they include a scene of Luigi fighting some Boos and setting the foundation for his infamous rivalry with King Boo.
Everything they've shown of Luigi so far is of him dealing with spooky stuff like armies of Dry Bones. Speaking of which, it's amazing how they've made Dry Bones look and feel much more threatening than we're used to seeing them in games.
>More generic toad's instead of all the OC's they developed over the years
I hate this so much
At least they have different colored spots.
Miyamoto hates them for some reason. He's a "pure gameplay" autist
My boys are definitely getting into Smash after this.
>smash trash
Eww
>IMAX
Looks super.
Any self respecting Mario fan is boycotting this movie with the way they are treating established Mario lore.
NNNOOO PEACH CAN'T BE USEFUL NNNOOO STRAIGHT WHITE MEN ARE OPPRESSED NNNOOO
He never mentioned Peach. He was probably talking about the whole origins of Mario and his fights with DK, which are completely different in the movie.
Don't know why you assume he was talking about Peach, but regardless what he meant by that since you're here already seething a reminder that Peach (and most of the cast for that matter) are widely out of character in this movie from what we've seen so far
Peach has taken an active role in the games since the NES era dumbass.
Yeah, like gamers make up 1% of the total people going to watch a fucking Mario movie
Go fuck yourself, idiot.
>Any self respecting Mario fan is boycotting this movie with the way they are treating established Mario lore.
Mario has loose continuity, what each game acknowledges or what the Mushroom Kingdom is like changes on a game-to-game basis. The only people who see it as sacrosanct or "established lore" are the worst of the Mario RPG fans.
I'll see this movie as many times as I please.
Even M&L lorefags don't give a fuck about the continuity in the main series since Nintendo themselves don't give a shit either.
Have they revealed the VA of the spiny koopa? He also doesn't have a toy unlike Lumalee so I'm surprised to see him there.
it'll probably be charles marinet
I wonder if that's Spike? Not sure if it was confirmed the Spike was from Wrecking Crew, though I would love if the character resurfaced in games.
I think it's definitely Foreman Spike because the VA said he was playing "Mario's Boss".
I wonder if the story is that
Mario Bros change careers from Wrecking Crew to Plumbers and then end up in the warp pipe to the Mushroom Kingdom. Or whether Spike is just in charge of the Mario Bros plumbing.
They literally showed his emblem in the Direct that announced the entire voice cast
Funny how Foreman Spike has been gone for so long they actually had to make up an emblem for him just for this announcement.
I wonder if he's going to start showing up in Mario Kart.
Absolute SOVL
>implying the souless 3d models Nintendo forced all their studios to use for a decade after New Super Trash Bros came out isn't a soul void
Anon these came during the gamecube years
Wait Donkey Kong is in this?
Voiced by Seth Rogen.
At the very least Rogen and Jack Black have played a Mario Game before and seem to be having fun with the roles.
Black actually sounds great as Bowser from what's been shown, whereas Rogen DK is just Seth Rogen on what's been shown.
You're a phenomenal fucking retard. Pansy ass fucking child
not him but Seth is unironically worse then Chris Pratt here. Even Chris is trying harder.
Why does every fucking movie poster look like this now?
It's probably written in actors' contracts that they get a certain pecking order on posters. It's also why they remove their mask every other scene they're in, so the actor can show his face.
Now why they're using it for a fucking animated movie, I don't know
It works, so cope more.
holy kino
I'm surprised how prominent of a character Donkey Kong seems to be in this movie
He's apparently a backseat pilot for the DK movie to follow after this.
Pretty blatant, too.
makes sense considering the expansion to the nintendo world at universal studios.
>Universal making a Donkey Kong movie
Tremendous, isn't it?
Last I heard, Universal wants to do Super Mario Bros 2, Donkey Kong Country, and Luigi's Mansion if the movie is a hit.
Jesus, the atmosphere around this movie is unlike anything I've ever felt before. There seems to be a looming trepidation about it, like millions of people are terrified of what's going to happen once it actually comes out. Why? It's just a video game movie, why are so many people so openly worried about it?
If you assume the worst you have less of a distance to fall when it sucks.
Or if you're smart if you don't give a shit because you don't have autism when you do watch it, it being shit or great doesn't do anything significant.
I kinda hope the inevitable Zelda movie is treated with slightly more gravitas. Not saying it should be treated as seriously as Lord of the Rings. But it should be a bit darker than Mario tonally.
>Not saying it should be treated as seriously as Lord of the Rings
I think it should be, a genuinely serious Legend of Zelda movie that gives the story genuine respect would be fucking incredible.
If anything the Nintendo property that deserves the serious treatment the most is Metroid.
AM2R > MSR
And you can't prove otherwise.
No one can. But that doesn't mean there is no reason to play MSR.
Will always love fighting Diggernaut and Ridley. Also the Metroid Queen fight is better. Just wish it were on a better platform than 3DS.
>dark
>slow paced and atmospheric
>little dialogue
All the reasons Metroid is great are also why it would never be made into movie that captured the spirit of the series.
The rumors were claiming Illumination is aiming to make Zelda their How to Train Your Dragon counterpart which is a pretty reasonable goalpost.
>make Zelda their How to Train Your Dragon
What does that even mean?
Yeah, that is roughly a tone that'd fit Zelda, I think. I would hope that they do an original plot, with direct guidance from the Zelda narrative team of course, as adapting an existing one probably wouldn't work out great on a film's runtime.
My impossible wish is that any Zelda movie would be handled by Ghibli, but we all know that ain't going to happen.
I'd be down for a movie that takes Zelda as seriously as Lord of the Rings, even Tolkien's work had some moments of levity, that tone would fit Zelda like a glove if handled right.
Imagine Nintendo announcing the Legend of Zelda live action movie directed by Peter Jackson. People would go fucking mental.
I thought Peach just felt like the main character because it was a VA spotlight one like with Bowser first, but they really did just plop her in the front of the main poster. They're being really retarded with her so far.
They refuse to depict Peach as nice. She looks like a cunt in all promo material. So much for anyone having enough braincells to understand the appeal of princesses anymore.
I love the colors. That's the nicest thing I can say about it. I don't think it will be as good as the sonic movies even
Uninspired poster design
Bruhs, this movie is gonna be bussin'. No cap.
I hate the constant negativity around this movie but at least the dumbass complaints I hear here are not nearly as bad as the complaints from Tumblr.
I'm sorry but do you genuinely think they're boycotting the movie because there is no gay sex in it
I can appreciate how this revived the Bowuigi trend
This post is the final straw that convinced me Cinemaphile is dead. No, that's not a real complaint. How the fuck is Cinemaphile lamer than fucking Tumblr now?
>namefag
Fine, get out. No one will miss you here.
You realise that's a joke right
Bowser a cute.
The two most Reddit soiboi things on Earth are Mario and the MCU
>did you say MARIOOOOOOO?
That cereal is awful.
Most cereals are awful. The more ypu grow up the worse they taste. It's pure sugar.
How often is this done in earnest and how often is it just a big meme?
Getting dicked down by Daddy Bowser's big spiky koopa cock.
>Seth Rogan voices DK
No thanks
someone please post the mario and luigi cock and balls edit
What the fuck are they looking at
I can predict absolutely everything about this movie
Mario's gonna knock Donkey Kong off the side of the tightrope through a combo of mild skill but mostly dumb luck
But then he's gonna save DK from falling which makes DK wanna be his friend
Toad is gonna have a really forced faux emotional scene to switch him from annoying sidekick to "genuine friend" when Mario comforts him and tells him he's not annoying and that Mario likes him
Luigi gonna have a cringe angry freakout bashing a bunch of goombas over the head cause it's funny seeing the bitch turn overly aggressive
Very end is Bowser seemingly almost winning and gloating to Mario about how he's out of his league as a regular human out of his world, and also his cap flies off
Mario theme plays but slowed and dramatic and Mario puts his cap on and says a one-liner about how he's a "super mario bro" then effortlessly beats Bowser in a style just like the games whereas before he struggled to jump blocks
Bowser falls into lava to his defeat, but obviously survives and has a last scene recuperating with Kamek
Mario then has a slow romantic talk with Peach that is the same as the one they have halfway through the movie in a nighttime scene when sh explains her motivations and pathos to the goofy stupid newcomer (think Po and Tigress), then they kiss
Danceparty ending and credits that are just bad pixel artwork of scenes from the movie in a game-style
>then they kiss
Not happening. Pic related is the closest Nintendo has ever gotten about their mutual romance while also divorced from the greater context of the kiss as a reward.
IF there's any romance it will just be them looking into each other's eyes with sappy emotional music in the background so the implication is obvious, but someone (Toad or Donkey Kong) """comedically"" interrupts the love intermission with something unrelated and Mario/Peach try to act cool and pretend nothing happened.
There's also a chance they will just not lean into the romance at all.
>There's also a chance they will just not lean into the romance at all.
Impossible, this movie is already set up to encourage audiences to find "competent badass women" as appealing and lovely, it's a very common dynamic now, Mario will undoubtedly be attracted to her. I don't think they'll go too far with their relationship despite that though.
they just couldnt handle peach properly could they
im never going to get a chance to see a sweet, traditional princess in theaters again
>why does our animation x game film poster need soul? we can just make it look like any typical live action blockbuster
I'm so sad we'll never get
>WAKE UP IN THE MORNING
This movie will have its release ruined by the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine
Screencap this
This movie will be delayed because of:
1,4: War in Ukraine
2,5: Covid
3,6: Climate Change

Mario is too OP
Speaking of romance, isn't it weird how Bowser is apparently not after Peach at all? He's apparently after Mario himself.
I mean, best case scenario for Nintendo is they keep making sequels, they'll probably wait and have him develop an interest towards her if anything towards the end of the movie or in 2 as a quick and easy way to make a new plot with him. They're already blowing their load in this film, it'd be nice if they're actually saving some character dynamics between the main cast for later instead of "everyone gets it already lets just do everything now"
I'll wait for this to get dubbed in Japanese or Italian.
