Considering Zeus lightning and Stormbreaker, Mjolnir itself isn't that important in the movie, it would be easier to give another reason to break the necrosword.
The movie actually pretty sad about Thor's relationship with Stormbreaker considering the ending.

Well, yeah. Thor isn't the audience. I thought the Mjolnir dress-up thing was annoying, just because it's the first time we get to see Thor finally using Mjolnir again. Hell, just the make-up wouldn't have been that bad because the hammer can just be tilted a different way from the camera--but they also had her put that frilly thing on the handle.
Just kinda unsatisfying, given that the Thor/Mjolnir reunion is essentially what you're waiting for for the second half of the film.

Wanda didn't kill any important characters though, just nobodies so it'll be easy to redeem her. It's like the Loki TV show, he's a mass murderer who killed hundreds of people, but they were almost all unnamed nobodies so he cries about it and now he's good again. Namor killing Black Panther is a whole different kettle of fish.
The MCU is just getting worse across the board. The costumes get worse, the VFX get worse, the stories get worse from being weighted down with all this obligatory crap from previous films, the directors get worse, and none of the new actors have caught on like the originals.
