Solar is actually not all that sustainable, due to 1. the land you need to use for it displaces wildlife, 2. The production of solar panels produces waist, and 3. circling back to wildlife, the reflections form the panels effect birds
comparatively nuclear uses a smaller footprint to produce more energy in the long run with far less of an impact of natural environment.
Frankly speaking, it's unethical to uproot the ecosystem only to serve our won energy needs.
Nuclear or nothing.
If you actually cared about wanting to reduce pollution you should want nuclear power. Solar panel production also creates toxic waste, its inefficient, it only works while the sun is shining or else requires batteries with more toxic waste and limited lifespans.
And I say this as someone who has 15MW of solar panels on two houses.
But but, communism hasn't been tried. Look at all the problems capitalism has caused, especially liberalism. We need to just unite everyone under shared suffering so we can get rid of that suffering.

Are you the homosexual who brought up the Chernobyl mini-series? Did you even FINISH the fricking thing? Because anybody who was paying attention to that long, drawn at trial at the end would know that it was a series of mistakes, incompetence, capped off by a lie that AZ-5 would be a reliable and safe means to shut down the reactor in an emergency.
There've been approximately 3 notably dangerous nuclear plant disasters in history. Two were from the soviet union which is why everything went to shit, one was from Japan, and Japan locked that shit down and contained it immediately. And it took an earthquake AND the ensuing tsunami to frick that one up.
Thats literally it. Other shit is like either direct nuclear radiation tests, people building garage shit, or actual weapons.
You fail to mention the primary reason that Nuclear power plants stopped being built in the US anon...

>The Three Mile Island accident was a partial meltdown of the Three Mile Island, Unit 2 (TMI-2) reactor in Pennsylvania, United States. It began at 4 a.m.[2][3] on March 28, 1979. It is the most significant accident in U.S. commercial nuclear power plant history.[4] On the seven-point International Nuclear Event Scale, it is rated Level 5 - Accident with Wider Consequences.[5][6]

It’s an earthquake prone country. It’s why all their buildings have high standards to withhold earthquakes. A nuclear power facility for obvious reasons should have even more stringent regulations about dealing with natural disasters and Fukushima failed to live up to them.
>AND ALL THE WILDLIFE IS DYING
actually, the wildlife is doing just fine. turns out, human activity was a bigger danger to their survival than a literal nuclear disaster. because animals' genome is less complex than humans, they could adapt by - among other things - increasing their antioxidant production in their organisms, and since they don't live as long anyway, they are already old and dying by the time the long-term effects of the radiation
literally Putin playing Red Alert 1 in real life is a bigger danger to the ecology of Chernobyl than anything that has happened in the last 40 years.
Chernobyl is a testament to Russian moronation, not nuclear danger.
Seriously, for that to have happened, they had to do literally EVERYTHING wrong. And, against all odds, they fricking did. Its like they had a checklist of "How can we frick this shit up?" and went down EVERY fricking one.
Good god, I wouldn't trust Russia to manage a McDonalds, let alone a nuclear power plant. Just look at how Ukraine is going.
>I wouldn't trust Russia to manage a McDonalds, let alone a nuclear power plant
And yet they have a nuclear arsenal able to start a war that would wipe mankind off.
Sleep tight tonight!
Given how well their mechanical divisions were maintained (I.E., horribly as the corruption meant spare parts and even essential parts had been sold off left and right for cash), I wouldn't be surprised if half or more of their arsenal isn't fissionable anymore.
Still dangerous of course, but I take comfort in that ray of hope to sleep at night.
>Its like they had a checklist of "How can we frick this shit up?" and went down EVERY fricking one.
That's actually exactly what happened. They were running a drill to simulate sabotage by western spies and forgot to turn the safety mechanisms back on at the shift change.
People like you belong in camps. You'd rather let the earth die than do anything a far American white woman wouldn't like because she might not want to frick you if you said it.
I like these takes going “Poison Ivy just wants to save plants and Mr Freeze is reversing climate change they are the real heros, batman is a rich billionaire stopping them from saving the planet, typical!” like their ideal worlds dont end with 99% of humans dead.
It's the easiest way to know you're dealing with people who don't read comics and/or only get their knowledge from clickbait articles and shitty memes. Very often you can find the exact thing they're quoting by entering one or two words into Google. I thought the whole NPC meme was stupid, but in some cases it's EXACTLY right.
Um, anon, Mr. Freeze's ideal world DOESN'T end with humanity dead.
He just wants his wife back, he doesn't care about people dying past that. If he's trying to do global catastrophe its because a worse villain is paying him with the reward of "I'll cure you wife/finance her cure", or he thinks someone killed his wife and has gone insane with grief.
Mr. Freeze's ideal world is: Wife is cured, he goes into hiding or commits suicide so she can be happy without his freak self dragging her down.
That's only shit writers anon.
In the comics (which went out of their way to retcon that shitty characterization of him), he was more than happy to let his wife think he was dead, and was completely selfless.
His final actions in the BTAS were suicidal altruism, saving batman and then allowing himself to die rather than let batman risk himself to try and save him, because at the end of the day, he wasn't obsessed with his own happiness.
The very same creators also made TNBA and Beyond, which had him as vengeful if not outright evil. Its alright for Freeze to be bitter.
Anonymous
Vengeful/Evil?
Some corporate mad scientists tried to kill him and made it clear they viewed him only as something to be vivisected FOR SCIENCE!
He then attempted to kill them and destroy their lab facility, intending to stay behind in the blast: His actions were not wanton villainy here, he was intending to destroy a place of horror that would only clone and murder more people (like himself) and then go down with it as one of those horrors.
Its very, VERY incorrect to characterize him as an evil or selfish character in Batman beyond: Once again, when terry wanted to save him Freeze told him not to bother (as well as having explained earlier to him that he didn't intend to do anymore than destroy the facility. "think Freeze, you'll only cause more pain, more suffering."
"No. I end it. When this goes, I go too."
This dialogue indicates his lack of intent to cause any more harm, merely to end Power's evil.
Nuclear energy production has constant safety issues that don’t go reported, it takes forever to build because of how much safety concerns have to be addressed, the waste placement is also a problem and when something goes wrong it causes huge long term environments problems. You had decades to sell nuclear to people but all you did was be complacent and do next to nothing to win people over and now it’s way too fricking late to try and go full nuclear.
>Nuclear energy production has constant safety issues that don’t go reported
More people die setting up solar panels than people who have died of radiation
That’s a cute anecdote about workplace accidents, but it doesn’t change anything about the fact that nuclear energy that is supposed to be “super safe” actually has all kinds of ongoing issues and deficiencies that management keeps hushing and not reporting, everything from failing to meet safety standards to having concrete degradation problems to human prone errors.
Also the amount of investment, running costs and security concerns from Nuclear vs the amount of Watts per hour you get out of it, put against literally any other green energy is still astronomically better. Panels are toxic and literally only work half the day on a sunny day. And they produce way more broken toxic shit to dispose off than nuclear foes, which you can seal up and put in an old mine and not have to worry about again.
>which you can seal up and put in an old mine and not have to worry about again.
You literally have to construct containment units that will last centuries and then hope it doesn’t leak and start contaminating surrounding ground and water. Throwing shit down a mine and forgetting about it is not how it fricking works.

Those containment units are just concrete coffins and nothing short of an apocalyptic event can create serious leakage. And you get only a few tons of waste to deal with out of several years of steadfast energy vs untold hundreds of tons of un-recyclable, leaky chemical shit for solar panels that need to blanket entire landscapes with them to produce the same, and quickly degrade.

The potential danger is way higher with nuclear energy. So when you claim “it’s super duper safe, bro” it’s dishonest because you aren’t at all acknowledging how much is going wrong all the time and can potentially lead to disaster that has massive consequences.
Anonymous
Again the same with airplane, car, and chemical plants that have constant accidents that are never reported and easy fail safes that can be put in and designs to prevent those dangers just show you wrong. Even those "massive consequences" are manly to us and not nature ironically. But if you want to use homosexual language like "super duper safe bro" then I'll just surrender since I'm taking to an idiot. I'll read your last post if it makes you feel better.
>You had decades to sell nuclear to people
Yea, funny how all the money and effort went into solar shit that's more suited for space, wind since we want to be like Holland, and coal/oil. No, we were just sitting on our dicks wishing the problems away. Too bad those problems are solved.
Most of Batman's rogues are really just mentally ill people lashing out at society
Millenials have basically turned half of gotham into anti heroes because of this mentality
Pretty much all the Gotham City Sirens were played out then became bisexual women with a conscience compared to the male villains of Gotham. >Catwoman was just a thief who occasionally flirts with Batman and now has a conscience when it comes to real crime. >Harley Quinn can't be the mook crazy henchman who is abused by Joker anymore so has to be independent bisexual woman who is still sorta a bad guy but can't be too bad. >Poison Ivy 100% rode the coattails of the Harley Quinn shit because of the bisexual ship and that tweet is pretty much bullshit for ignoring this. Her plant based motivations and environmentalism aren't really pushed or talked about much anymore. So the whole anti-corporationist angle is bullshit.
People just like these female characters, like the shipping/romance angle and that made them anti-heroes more than any twitter analysis bullshit realises.
You can empathize with the goals without agreeing with the methods. "Slavery is bad and should be ended in America" is a good goal. Killing all white people to achieve it is (unfortunately) a bad way to do it.
>I don't know what I am talking about the tweet.
They stuck these two in a car and made it a Thelma & Louise story which resonated with people, people decided they had to be bisexual and when that happened they couldn't be big bads anymore and get perpetually stuck as anti-heroes.
This had nothing to do with ideas on corporatism, environmentalism or anything else.
The dude in op is just doing some revisionism bullshit. People just wanted to see two hot chicks together. They're trying to cover that up into some moral grandstanding or girl power bullshit like every other perverted fricker.
These casual homosexuals see what they want to see. SHES AN ECOTERRORIST AND EXTREMIST. Funny how we just leave out the part where she wants all the "apes" reduced to plant food
I wonder if they're saying the quiet parts out loud like Moviebob, or they are just idiots who just want to spew hot takes and not think about it any deeper than that.
Either way, I'm convinced that if the Internet is any indication, then the world is full of extremists who can't wait to kill each other because they think the other side is evil. Only a few would actually do it. The rest are hoping those few would take it far enough. Why else is the internet full of "empathic" human beings who are on record bragging whenever people die horribly because they vote differently?
Didn't she try to kill an entire community of old folks for whatever reason?
I remember Alfred got swept up in it.
She's a villain because she is insane.
Alfred got swept up in it because she targeted Bruce and he ended up getting his ticket to go there instead since Bruce thought it was bullshit and didn't care about it so he let alfred take his spot.
https://batmantheanimatedseries.fandom.com/wiki/Eternal_Youth_Spa
it was a health spa meant to target Industrialists who were fricking up the environment, and she figured that the elderly rich's obsession with youth made them vulnerable (Which is true. The super rich try some fricked up stuff to try and stave off death)
Yeah, and Bruce was on the list because some idiot in his company tried to raze the Amazon rainforest for land development. Didn't matter to her that Bruce told that guy to frick off.
Anon, she had zero way of knowing that wasn't done by his hand. He didn't exactly go out of his way to broadcast "MY COMPANY TRIED TO DO A HORRIBLE THING, BUT IT WASN'T ME I SWEAR" to the public.
Yes, it was a mistake, but its not unreasonable for her to have thought he was behind it.
She has a "collateral damage is fine" view of her crusade.
I'm not saying that she's not a criminal, but I am pointing out that she wasn't just killing people for shits and giggles, her actions was targeted at harming a specific social blob, not just humans in general.
I'm not sure if she wan an anti-hero. She is still a petty extremist in the current comics. The only time she approached being a good person was when she randomly felt guilty killing a bunch of people. Afterwards she controlled the entire human population.
Originally she didn't even fight corporations. She just wanted for money, and plants were just a tool.
It was BTAS that first made her an ecoterrorist, but normies think Batman started with Adam West, then stopped existing until Burton's movie and TAS.
This was one of the good things about DC Super Hero Girls, they didn't gay around about Ivy being some misunderstood anti-hero. They make her even MORE villainous. In her first appearance she has a speech where she compares human beings to vermin and declares her intention to exterminate the entire human race.
Also it's somewhat implied that she'd be fine with cannibalism.
If she's melting children its out of character; she took in all the orphaned children of Gotham during the No man's land arc and protected them against the roving bands of various super villains running rampant at the time.
Poison Ivy is crazy, but NORMALLY she reserves most of her vitriol for the actual industrialists and has a soft spot for children, since children are seen by her as too young to be culpable for the sins of adult society.
It's because of different writers, but Ivy's a hypocrite in that regard. She'll defend children who are within her reach but she's perfectly fine with schemes that would kill millions worlwide including children.
She seems to follow an 'out of sight, out of mind' principle there.
Current Ivy is pretty extremist she seems to not care about crossing the line of killing innocent people even children it seems DC wants her to go full villian again
Its funny how generation Z is basically just waiting for their grandparents and great grandparents to die with reckless glee.
How badly did you have to frick up to have your descendants hate you?
You hand an oil-dependent but generally healthy economy over to idiots and fanatics for them to run into the ground because the hippies and the blacks scare you and you don't want your taxes to go up? You know, the usual.
Wow, that's not even remotely what happened. The healthy economy failed after all the manufacturing was moved overseas to China, and you've been coasting off the constantly diminishing momentum for decades. Nothing to do with "hippies and the blacks", just companies who didn't want to pay Western wages for labour they could get dirt cheap elsewhere.
This makes zero sense. Harley Quinn is marketed to little girls nowadays and even if you're someone who believes the Joker forced her into it, she's still garbage. DC didn't "redeem" her, they just wanted to sell toys.
Dumb people have this problem where they can't understand that someone sharing their view point doesn't automatically make them a good person. Poison ivy's mutant super plants could just as easily destroy the global ecosystem by sapping all the usable nutrients from the soil or changing atmospheric composition.
Both her and Harley Quinn are serial killers, who murdered people for personal gain, and sometimes just for their own ego and fantasies. What about that was heroic? Harley even murdered children, and in the Holiday Knights episode both Harley and Ivy planned to kill Bruce Wayne after spending all his money. If they were real people they'd be on death row.
I'll further add, do the DC superheroes just not care about victims in their comic continuity? Does Batman just say: "Well, Harley and Ivy have pussies, so it's ok if they murdered children!"
who are these genx and millenials he talks about? nobody complained about ivy doing all those stuff, it actually made a lot of sense for her to be focusing on doing that given her powers, is just that her ways might hurt people who didn't deserve it
she will kill any human in her way, did morons really go "yaas queen slay" just because one of her big targets is big corporations, she still wants to get rid of humans so plants can thrive
What? No it has to do with the fact so many guys jack off to her and the fact she's been made into Harley Quinn's accessory and Harley's a good guy now because bawds like to cosplay her movie version.
Ivy's desire for a greener world was always supposed to be well-meaning, but she's a psycho.
I bought her comic THIS MONTH and she's murdering every dude she sees with the intention of ending the world, even splits with Harley at the start to commit to it. I was surprised given its an Ivy comic starting in Pride Month that didn't seem interested in pushing her as some moronic lesbian icon.
I'm not sure where this comic is going, I am sure they'll frick it up, and make her some kind of martyr for the 857345384th time, but from that first issue alone, nothing really has changed with Ivy from what I am seeing. She's a hot, psychopathic, sociopath who explicitly enjoys killing even innocent people.
I see the word transition and immediately think of trannies.

If you "notice" without a radiation meter, you are already dead.
>44
Thats a lie
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_oil_spills
Weird list. There's an oil spill literally every single day. It would be impossible to list them all, and many are hidden by NDAs in remote areas that dont' get inspected very well.
>just as catastrophic as an oil spill
Stop building your power plants out of sticks and by active volcanoes.
yeah, and when you look at how many of these big companies cut corners to save a few bucks at the expense of workplace safety, the odds of nuclear catastrophe only increase
It's fine in 99.9% of all cases.
How's those oil spill doing? Or the old wind turbine blades? Or those mines for solar cell parts?
>ONE MISTAKE
Try tens of mistakes compounding on top of one another, you disingenuous homosexual.
>ONE MISTAKE
You fail to mention the primary reason that Nuclear power plants stopped being built in the US anon...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Mile_Island_accident
no soviet frick ups there, all american made.
Cool story, Brocephus.
>An incident which was not only immediately contained, but fixed and the plant remains perfectly operational and staffed to this day.
I'm from Pennyslvania homosexual, you think i dont know about three mile? Where the frick is the three mile exclusion zone? Stupid moron.
>Where the frick is the three mile exclusion zone?
In Russia and Japan, apparently, mutie inbreed.
THREE. MILE. AS IN THREE MILE ISLAND, YOU STUPID homosexual.
Three Mile Island is in fricking PENNSYLVANIA you idiot.
This the type of mental instability nuclear irradiation do to a homie.
Fair enough, actually. You're really not wrong about that one, theres some straight up freaks here.
Stay strong, bro.
Have fun at Anthrocon.
>And it took an earthquake AND the ensuing tsunami to frick that one up.
You mean regular, naturally occurring phenomenons in the region that should have been taken better into consideration in the planning phase and in the safety protocols?
>Japan locked that shit down and contained it immediately
It’s been a shit show where even decade later they’re struggling with containing the irradiated water and now just dump it in the ocean and they’ve already had court cases deeming the company negligent.
It was the strongest fricking earthquake in all of Japan's history. The only other earthquake to happen of that magnitude happenned in the 1300s. Japan will never have another like this for centuries, maybe a thousand of years.
It’s an earthquake prone country. It’s why all their buildings have high standards to withhold earthquakes. A nuclear power facility for obvious reasons should have even more stringent regulations about dealing with natural disasters and Fukushima failed to live up to them.
>AND ALL THE WILDLIFE IS DYING
actually, the wildlife is doing just fine. turns out, human activity was a bigger danger to their survival than a literal nuclear disaster. because animals' genome is less complex than humans, they could adapt by - among other things - increasing their antioxidant production in their organisms, and since they don't live as long anyway, they are already old and dying by the time the long-term effects of the radiation
literally Putin playing Red Alert 1 in real life is a bigger danger to the ecology of Chernobyl than anything that has happened in the last 40 years.
tl;dr - human beings never left the beta
Solar panels have a relatively short lifetime, high energy production cost AND material cost on top of being hard to recycle or dispose of.
The whole "it's just like plants do bro, it green!" propaganda is incredibly effective
>there are “”””””people””””””” who get their entire worldview built by shitty tv shows
What a scary world to live in.
I wish a homie would
A homie probably will sleep tight tonight, if that makes you feel better.
It's nothing then because solar and all other non-nuclear renewable energy will never be enough.
Only thing dangerous about Chernobyl was communism
Thats a nice thought, but once he can't get his wife back his reaction eventually becomes "Frick this, if I can't have my wife everyone will suffer."
>"Frick this, if I can't have my wife everyone will suffer."
based
Nuclear energy production has constant safety issues that don’t go reported, it takes forever to build because of how much safety concerns have to be addressed, the waste placement is also a problem and when something goes wrong it causes huge long term environments problems.
Can you name any important ones?
It's fine, just make sure the place you keep the stuff doesn't look valuable or honorable.
Those containment units are just concrete coffins and nothing short of an apocalyptic event can create serious leakage. And you get only a few tons of waste to deal with out of several years of steadfast energy vs untold hundreds of tons of un-recyclable, leaky chemical shit for solar panels that need to blanket entire landscapes with them to produce the same, and quickly degrade.
>and nothing short of an apocalyptic event can create serious leakage
Concrete is notorious that it can degrade and crack if it’s not done well enough. And you wouldn’t even know it’s leaking for who knows how long.
You would know, because the dispoal facilities are checked regularly. People have been working with Nuclear for longer than most green energies have been practical at all.
>if it’s not done well enough
All your arguments keep falling back to human error. By this logic no energy source can be done because of the risk of human error nor any transportation bar walking.
The potential danger is way higher with nuclear energy. So when you claim “it’s super duper safe, bro” it’s dishonest because you aren’t at all acknowledging how much is going wrong all the time and can potentially lead to disaster that has massive consequences.
Millenials have basically turned half of gotham into anti heroes because of this mentality
>mass murderer
>oh but she likes nature
bruh
This had nothing to do with ideas on corporatism, environmentalism or anything else.
this.
The dude in op is just doing some revisionism bullshit. People just wanted to see two hot chicks together. They're trying to cover that up into some moral grandstanding or girl power bullshit like every other perverted fricker.
The best of it is, a quick Google and a look at anyone talking about this shit and you'd see it has nothing to do with what he is saying.
The worst shit about the Internet is you can easily say something that sounds vaguely like it makes sense even though it is instantly dismissable.
These casual homosexuals see what they want to see. SHES AN ECOTERRORIST AND EXTREMIST. Funny how we just leave out the part where she wants all the "apes" reduced to plant food
>Funny how we just leave out the part where she wants all the "apes" reduced to plant food
They probably want that to happen as well.
To them, humans(and animals) are the real plague that should be wiped out for good!
She's a villain because she is insane.
>old folks
Most of the current and newer generations pretty much loathe anyone older than themselves.
Their fault for not starting a world war and guilt tripping us over them being conscripted.
>Which is true. The super rich try some fricked up stuff to try and stave off death
Cool it with the anti-Semitism bro
not quite sure where "Super rich" means "jew" in your book, given how it more applies to people like Musk or Russian oligarchs, or Saudi oil sheiks...
Yeah, and Bruce was on the list because some idiot in his company tried to raze the Amazon rainforest for land development. Didn't matter to her that Bruce told that guy to frick off.
I don't think it was even his company, I think his accountants put money into the third party for some vague reason like a business deal.
Still didn't hesitate to kill Alfred, who literally did nothing wrong, just to get Bruce's scalp.
I feel like poison ivy has changed drastically since her introduction. So I can't relate.
Poison Ivy is a terrorist who has killed and used innocents who were in her way including children. Frick off.
She's just a Captain Planet who gets shit done.
Originally she didn't even fight corporations. She just wanted for money, and plants were just a tool.
It was BTAS that first made her an ecoterrorist, but normies think Batman started with Adam West, then stopped existing until Burton's movie and TAS.
She literally fed humans to plants because it amused her to do so.
This was a shitty "rehabilitation."
Why do progressives do not realize that the majority of their agenda is fed to them by trillionaire corporations?
This was one of the good things about DC Super Hero Girls, they didn't gay around about Ivy being some misunderstood anti-hero. They make her even MORE villainous. In her first appearance she has a speech where she compares human beings to vermin and declares her intention to exterminate the entire human race.
Also it's somewhat implied that she'd be fine with cannibalism.
Is that the one made by Faust where she just reskinned her horse show, or another DC one?
DCSHG with another home run
How do they do it?
>where she compares human beings to vermin
Not wrong, really
>Smol Ivy with those juicy DSL
DC Super Hero girls was too good for this earth
Isn't Ivy currently killing innocent people and melting children? and i'm pretty sure she has done this before
If she's melting children its out of character; she took in all the orphaned children of Gotham during the No man's land arc and protected them against the roving bands of various super villains running rampant at the time.
Half of the boomers you b***h about probably were hippies
Wow, that's not even remotely what happened. The healthy economy failed after all the manufacturing was moved overseas to China, and you've been coasting off the constantly diminishing momentum for decades. Nothing to do with "hippies and the blacks", just companies who didn't want to pay Western wages for labour they could get dirt cheap elsewhere.
This makes zero sense. Harley Quinn is marketed to little girls nowadays and even if you're someone who believes the Joker forced her into it, she's still garbage. DC didn't "redeem" her, they just wanted to sell toys.
>Zoomers watch a terrorist with an anti-capitalism ideology
>shouldnt we be rooting for her?
Same shit that happened with the muslims.
Eco-terrorism against giant nature destroying, pollution producing corporations looks more and more like heroism these days.
Batman does think that anyone can be rehabilitated.
who are these genx and millenials he talks about? nobody complained about ivy doing all those stuff, it actually made a lot of sense for her to be focusing on doing that given her powers, is just that her ways might hurt people who didn't deserve it
she will kill any human in her way, did morons really go "yaas queen slay" just because one of her big targets is big corporations, she still wants to get rid of humans so plants can thrive
A lot of the replies they got are really annoying "Batman is bad actually" type moron replies but I laughed at this guys final line
>language is an assault weapon
Ya 1A was made when the most advanced shitposting tool was a printing press we need common sense regulation.
>filename
Damn what a crazy episode!
didn't she just used to be your typical femme fatal except her gimmick was using pheromones to seduce the people she was robbing
Americans deserve every shooting they get and more.
But...she's still a villain...
