Hey?

Hey Cinemaphile, Jim Cameron's family member here again, and drunk as all frick again. Will be here for as long as my bottle of Seagram's lasts, so if you want to know anything about Jim, ask away.

What would he think about you telling people about him and his barbecue times.

      I don't spill any serious beans, so I don't think he'd mind.

Does he even plan to release Avatar 2 or is he just using his success to fund deep sea expeditions and other bullshit?

Nah man, he's EXTREMELY passionate about Avatar. I read somewhere that Avatar is Jim's Star Wars, and I have to agree with it. He really is obsessed with the idea of Avatar being his ultimate legacy.

post a picture of your hand

      Nah.

why does he like the water?

He's been balls deep in love with water since he was a kid. Whenever we see each other at the family table, he still gushes about deep diving. He's really, really, really passionate about that shit.

What did he find at the bottom of the Marianna Trench?

      Frick if I know, man.

What the frick has he been doing since Avatar 1? Guy's been sitting on his ass until only recently.

Man, if there's one thing you can't accuse Jim of being, it's lazy. He was developing the Avatar sequels since the first one came out. Granted, he was doing a lot of other shit meanwhile, but when it comes to the sequels, he really wanted and wants to make it as perfect as possible.

lol Cameron literally wrote the scripts for all the avatar movies in the 90s and waited for the technology to be ready. when he found that it wasn't advancing as fast as he wanted, he did it himself. and when he realized after avatar 1 that it wasn't quite ready for the rest, he bridged the gap and is now going to pump them all out together. say what you want about him, but the man wants something to happen and makes it happen.

Like he created Titanic as a humongous blockbuster just to raise money and awareness for his voyage to the actual Titanic. Hard to get more chad than that.

            Anonymous

Yeah, I agree with the notion that he's a fricking chad. Like I wrote before, when we go for dinner, it's very obvious who's boss - he has that alpha energy. No wonder, right? Who else would have made Titanic.

            >lot of movie insiders who lurk, post and meme here
No, there's a lot of fat kids with Personalized Education Plans who lurk, post and meme here. That's what there is a lot of. Any other demographic is less than "a lot" in this context.
Guess which kind of poster would ever be caught dead writing something like "popped another bottle of bourbon" holy fricking shit have a nice day in both eye sockets

            Alright, dude.

...Why? Cinemaphile has, at peak hours, maybe 1000-2000 active posters and I'm being very generous with this estimate. This is a super niche place to discuss film and all the threads are garbage.

Because it's anonymous. Nothing else to it, really.

Does he have access to nuclear weapons, and does he plan to use one if Avatar 2 isn't recieved well?

      Anonymous

Hahaha, probably not. I guess he'd go nuclear if Avatar 2 didn't make money, but judging from the box office returns of the re-release, he's got nothing to worry about. I honestly think that Avatar 2 is gonna smash all box office records and metrics to absolute shit.

Did he really take Bill Paxton down to the Titanic on 9/11 to have the perfect alibi?

      Anonymous

Yeah, they were down on the deck of the Titanic when WTC fell. Maybe it was the perfect alibi...

Does he fish? I'm also obsessed with the ocean and love fishing the sea. Jim is based as frick and I hope Avatap2 is a massive box office success so he can fund more underwater kino.

Nah, he doesn't fish at all. He's very in love with everything that lives underwater. I agree with you that he's based as frick and I honestly believe that Avatar 2 will smash all box office records.
I'll tell you though, whenever he comes around and we have dinner, he doesn't talk about movies at all. If you actually met Jim, you'd probably not think he's a massively successful film director.

Interesting. Figured he'd be into ocean fishing. Tell him he should do a modern doc on the Edmund Fitz. If anyone could make it happen, it's him.

Does he ever mention the idea if extraterrestrial life or UFOs? I know this sounds moronic but sometimes i wonder if The Abyss wasn't maybe soft UFO disclosure of some kind

      Anonymous

He's interested in that, but only as a sci-fi kinda thing. I don't think he actually believes in aliens as we would know them.

Is he nervous over how the Avatar sequels will turn out? It's a big commitment. Does he know a lot of people are lukewarm on the first film?

I haven't seen him for a long time now (months), and I think the soonest I'll see him is on Christmas.. Jim, Suzy and the kids will be in LA for the screening of Avatar 2 and Christmas, so of course I'll ask him what he thinks of the reception of his film.
I think he's very confident in the sequel, but he's also nervous.

does jim ever go on hate fuelled rants about Disney? Also what are his thoughts on streaming services?

No, no rants against Disney. At least I haven't heard anything like that. As far as streaming services go, he's a fan (especially his kids when they bingewatch shows), but he's still an old school boomer who thinks you gotta go the cinema to experience a film.

Interesting. Figured he'd be into ocean fishing. Tell him he should do a modern doc on the Edmund Fitz. If anyone could make it happen, it's him.

Who knows? I honestly think that guy will live and work till he's 100. He's very, very energetic and enthusiastic about what he's doing and wants to do. Maybe he'll set his eyes and mind on that doc. Honestly, anon, I would watch that too.

Call him Jimbo and Jimberino on the next BBQ. Then get drunk, call him a medium talent and say his spacesmurfs suck.

Haha, let me tell you, Jim has heard all of that spacemurfs and blue gays and Pocahontas ripoff things already. I wouldn't call him Jimberino, though. I think he'd just look at me funny, like "did you actually call me that?".

Will you give me 5 bucks?

      I'd give it to you. Unfortunately, you're not near me ;_;

You know if he watched 'Dark Fate'? What did he think of it?

He did and didn't like it at all. All of that bullshit he went on record with was a favor for Arnold. But you gotta know that Jim gives zero fricks about Terminator since early 00's. Basically since the third part.

        >Jim gives zero fricks about Terminator since early 00's.
I still think he was the one who should have done the S.M. Stirling (NOT JIM STERLING YOU FRICKS) T2 sequel novels was the best way to tie it up in a bow.

JIMBERINO, AND ONLY JIMBERINO COULD SAVE TERMINATOR.

show him Cinemaphile and start a thread with Jim if you ever get a chance.

You guys ever talk about Nolan?

      Anonymous

This I can confirm - Jim's a huge fan of Nolan. He loves his movies, and I still remember how he was gushing over Inception.

How did he go from doing deep-sea science shit to movies? It seems like two highly different fields that would each take decades of time investment and luck to get as far as he did.

He actually went from movies to deep diving. But he was extremely passionate about both of these things, and pursued them.

Also I would like to mention Jim was fricking head over heels over Gravity. Dude couldn't shut the frick up about that film for months on end.

He's vegan right? Is there meat at his bbq's?

    1. Is he really that much of a hard-ass? Winslet said Jim has a temper like you wouldn't believe, the stories about making of the Abyss, shouting at Arnie on the set of 'True Lies' for missing his cue, telling Zoe Saldana she will be back sucking dick on the casting couch again if she didn't smarten up? That sort of thing? Is it just for show or does he have an edge to him?
    2. Does he care at all about Terminator and where it went and how it turned out or is it just water under the fridge in what he wanted to say about that franchise after 2 ended?
    3. Does Jim drink?
    4. What does he do for fun?
    5. What car is he driving these days?

can you ask him what he thinks of the UAPs that go into and out the caribbean all the time? will he be the one to introduce AYYYYY LMAOS to CAMERON KINO?
