>"hey I'll rewatch this movie I haven't seen since 2007!"
>remember it being super fricking funny
>put movie on
>suddenly you're painfully aware of how bad the cinematography of the opening graphics are, from the kerning of the font which doesn't match the movie poster to the inconsistent way the actor names float across the screen
>"heh that's okay I'm sure the editor was just underpaid"
>get to the movie
>get to parts you remember genuinely finding funny
>you don't laugh
>you actually kind of want to cringe
>suddenly it hits you
>this movie was never funny
>you just remember being in a room with other people your own age at the time, laughing
>you liked how it felt to be in a room with peers laughing
>that's why it was easier to laugh
>spend the rest of the movie rewatch remembering exact moments that specific friends laughed at certain parts while not finding those moments funny yourself
>realize that comedy as a genre is largely only enjoyable thanks to the social setting which they're consumed within
anybody else? not necessarily pic related but any comedy. this is me at least once a week.

it was funny in 2007 when i saw it in theaters but i was also like 13
You sound joyless. Occasionally I'll see something I liked from the past and it doesn't seem as good as I remember but more often than not it reminds me how good movies can be and how shit they've become.
For me it's noticing all the ultra israeli degeneracy and propaganda
Hebrew humor is based on subverting social norms, Superbad was subversion of things we have since left long ago in the rearview hence no longer funny. You aren't even laughing because it's funny, just because you are shocked and surprised.
Sex. Have it.
>subverting social norms
Yeah that totally abnormal teenage drinking and partying
It was decent at the time for our age but you don't see it the same as an adult because your perspective has changed. I loved pineapple express as a teenager but I watched it alone, now I just find it cringy. What you said could also be true. Reach out to old friends. Or try to make new ones. I should talk though I'm still hermit, I just don't like being around people though I'd like some friends once in awhile.
superbad was never that funny. just
>dude... LE BODILY FLUIDS
what a homosexual
>anybody else?
what did you expect you fricking idiot? its a coming of age/high school flick.
just watch it again in a room full of people who like it and i'm sure your dumb little mind will change about it again you fricking npc
The only funny stuff is with McLovin, didn’t even smile at anything else
It's still good. 1 of the few good things that Rogen has done.
I hated everything with Cera, Hill, and Rogen in the late 2000s. It just made me aware of a huge disconnect between me and people my age.
it’s a run-of-the-mill raunchy teenage comedy that’s elevated by its legitimately great ending
Get fricked, homosexual. It was funny by myself in my 20s with alcohol. The only thing that isn't funny now is seth Rogan since revealing his full on racist plans.
You sound like the emotionless quiet guy of the group. When was the last time you laughed at all?
>When was the last time you laughed at all?

>complaining about opening credit typography
what a huge homosexual you are
It’s a really poorly written movie, not really engaging.
pretty much, humor is a lot of set and setting, especially shock jock type shit this is. get new friends
Name a funnier movie that came out after Superbad? moron
there hasn't been an actually funny movie since the 90s
21 jump street
Dark Knight Rises
I really like everything up until the point McLovin gets arrested. It's shit after that.
you sound extremely autistic
