>hey val we're getting you back to play iceman in the top gun sequel!
>ice man is a 4 star admiral and close friend of mavericks!
>you will be in the movie for 5 minutes until your character dies of throat cancer
why did they do this to him
>hey val we're getting you back to play iceman in the top gun sequel!
>ice man is a 4 star admiral and close friend of mavericks!
>you will be in the movie for 5 minutes until your character dies of throat cancer
why did they do this to him
probably even these 5 minutes were tough for him
val even had spoken lines and given his condition...
have you seen val talking in interviews, its not him speaking, its using AI to generate it
it just felt weird to kill him off instead of having him live a fulfilling life with his cancer in remission like irl
this
poor taste
it's not like they have to explain him being missing in top gun 3
seems like they just wanted to drop an emotion bomb on the oldies, and give a reason for maverick to be dismissed from teaching
pretty crappy
I can assure you this is what Val wanted. He only did the role because he's bros with Cruise
I personally prefer this. I hate seeing them live happy in movies
Having your character killed off is better than having him be put away and forgotten forever. His character death is like a tribute to the death of his career.
it's a movie bros
bro, he can barely utter words. what do you want him to do in the movie? It was a very nice gesture of Cruise to even bring him in the movie.
writing his character dying from the same condition he suffers from in real life is weird
Gunna hit hard in a year or two when he dies for real
it seems like his cancer is in remission but his throat is permenantly fucked up from the surgery and treatment.
>his voice didn’t become super strong after healing from the surgery
Bummer
Truth
Emotional manipulation of the audience
It's either that or Iceman not showing up at all like Charlotte Blackwood
Val Kilmer got all fucked up from throat cancer
its more the making his character die in the movie from throat cancer instead of having it be in remission or something that i find strange
The wife says the disease returned tho, seems like iceman got cancer, recovered but it worsened again
I know he made some documentary about his life now but I didn't watch it. Is he still symptomatic? Maybe that short scene is all he could handle and he knew it.
He's better for the time being but he's still a broken down old guy and his speech is permanently gone
never ever eating pussy bros
you guys can enjoy that gnomish submissive act and tell me how your oral cancer goes in a decade or two
Long lives are overrated anyway
t. 18
you know who wants to be 100?
people who are 99.
people who are 99 don't even know how old they are lol
fuck that im 44 and don't even want to be 45. if it wasn't for the fact it would destroy my mom i'd an hero right now.
Was there ever a point in your life where it was better? Because I’m 25, have felt that way all my life and I feel like all that I could have enjoyed in life (which isn’t much) is behind me. I’m tired of never having enjoyed a single day of life.
Not him but my 30s have been sweet so far and my 20s were nothing but work, failed dating and financial destitution.
dont listen to that gay life rules go watch everybody wants some and drink beer outsdie
before you end it, at least kill one garden gnome; then your life will have some meaning
I am gnomish and am very happy
you can eat pussy but you shouldnt eat the cooch of every stripper or escort you meet.
Women love dicks and cum, if you perform cunnilingus you’re a queer.
He begged them and is honest about in interviews. His presence is actually felt throughout the movie as a guardian angel with the power and influence to save Mavericks career on a weekly basis. His scene was also unbelievably kino and emotive as fuck.
Both Maverick and Iceman were amazing examples of doing grown matured characters right. Very believable.
Him dying actually made the stakes for maverick higher and real, apparently he kept fucking up but iceman kept believing in him and kept him from becominga a wingless jobless loser. Him dying is the moment maverick actually realized that he can't continue fucking up aka running away and has to confront his past and let it go thus believing in rooster. His death makes this choice a lot stronger instead if iceman living because it was his dying wish for maverick to pull his shit together.
To give him the chance to say goodbye in a dignified way. It was 10,000% pure class. I’m not ashamed to admit I cried.
the Val Kilmer doc where he reflects on his life is kino. seeing that, you know he was absolutely fine with doing it and it was probably his idea.
Does he speak? What does he sound like
raspy
>Does he speak? What does he sound like
2 maybe 3 lines, sounds very good, I'm not even sure if that's him or some voice acting overlay
What the fuck were you expecting? For Ice to hop into a F-18 to go shoot down Felons with Maverick?
dude his appearance was actually well done and very heartfelt
what the fuck is wrong with you lmfao
cruise is a good friend to get him in the movie like that
>dude his appearance was actually well done and very heartfelt
why did they have to kill him tho
The plot required Maverick to not have his protection anymore. Tom is the one who personally got him on the cast. He wouldn't have planned it that way without Val's approval.
I really like the idea that Iceman is a 4 star general and just having to keep Mav from getting court martialed every couple of months because he pulled his ass out of the fire in the 1st movie.
And Iceman knew he had this over him.
>It's not a request.
Why does he look so weird now, kind of like his face got fucked up the same way Ebert's did. But Ebert had jaw cancer or someshit and Val has throat cancer, so why is his face also affected?
he even had the ebert jacket/scarf combo in the movie
>he even had the ebert jacket/scarf combo in the movie
That's because he's had a permanent tracheotomy, people don't really like showing that off even before the nerve damage messes up their necks/face
Your face works because of a complicated network of nerves and muscles. If any of them get fucked you are now a creature.
talk to me dubs
Impressive
You saved the thread anon
You can be my dubs man any time
Bullshit, you can be mine
Tower, permission to check em
I'm your dubbleberry
I thought they handled it quite well. Anything more could've veered into tacky territory.
i fuckin loved seeing val kilmer again. i missed him bros
Kilmer is surprisingly self-aware of his situation. You should watch the documentary ‘Val’, it provides insight into what would have convinced to return to his role this way (hell he may have asked for his character to be killed off).
Fuck Val Kilmer, guy was always a cunt
>Tom glad to be here! Thanks for including me! When do I get suit up? Can't wait to fly again. Also why are we doing my scenes first?
did he get it from eating out catherine zeta jones pussy?
I'd do it for Lupus
>mr. kosinski, why are you shooting my scenes first?
Val knows he’s gonna die within the next year sadly
>person is dying of cancer irl
>they come back to reprise their roles and the character is also dying of cancer
Hey, I've seen this one before
>In 2020, Kilmer reported that he had been cancer free for four years and that he uses a feeding tube to feed himself because he can no longer eat.
Can you gays stop repeat the exact same point with only slighty differnt wording?
